Hey community, thanks for your detailed feedback on combining expenses into a single claim.
We recognise the value in creating a more streamlined process for submitting and approving multiple expenses, especially for events like business travel.
Our product team are currently reviewing this functionality and are in an initial discovery phase, but it isn’t set in their product roadmap yet. We’ve moved the status to In Discovery to reflect this.
We’re continuing to monitor feedback on this idea and will keep you updated.

We understand the needs in this space have close ties with this idea for being able to journal to bank accounts, and this is something we have intentions of doing deeper discovery around in the longer term. However, we want to be upfront that this work isn't roadmapped right now.
Though we appreciate not the straight forward approach that you’re after here - currently you can create the journal via a bill in the relevant foreign currency. Entering positive and negative lines for the debit and credit entries, which results in a 0.00 bill total once approved. A classic Sir Humphrey reply, lots of words, making little sense. Multi-currency Xero is definitely not.

I think the current system works fine, all you need is an ability to combine the individual lines with a monthly expense header that groups them all together, so as not to pollute the GL with unnecessary lines, and one that matches with the cash payment.
