Hey everyone, thank you for all your feedback. We’re on a long journey to provide more granular access and controls within Xero features that our customers need.
As you may have seen in some of our recent updates across other user roles ideas we’re currently in the process of adding more permissions within Reporting and Inventory. Further to this our research has highlighted Payroll and Banking as areas that more controls are most needed, and are on our agenda as we continue to develop permissions and access to features.
Your feedback here and through direct engagements with our teams have been extremely insightful, and we appreciate all your inputs.
I'll continue to provide updates on the development of roles for features as we progress.

Hi everyone, thanks for your continued engagement with this idea. We know this has been a topic of conversation for a while, and we want you to know we've been listening about the challenges of claiming VAT on mileage in Xero Expenses.
We appreciate everyone who's shared their workarounds, like splitting the mileage claim into two separate lines. While we know this isn't an ideal solution, it's great to see how you're helping each other out here.
Your input is invaluable as we continue to evaluate the best way to address this. While we can't provide a specific timeline for a fix, please know that monitoring this is a priority for us. We'll be sure to keep you updated on any progress.

Good to hear your feedback to our last update. Monica and we can re-open your idea to get a sense of interest from the wider community, however want to be open that this isn't something we have direct plans of atm.
Just to re-iterate for others coming across this post - For new employee's, if this is their first job since the start of the tax year, you should not enter a P45 or any opening balances in their employee record. Leaving these sections blank ensures the system calculates their tax correctly based on their current circumstances.

Hi everyone, this idea has been created to track UK user interest in this feature. It has been split from the original request, as our Payroll features are generally developed separately across each region.
Being upfront, we don't have any plans for this at present, however it is something we would like to understand the wider interest from our community.
Make sure you share this idea with any colleagues that this would benefit so they can add their vote and share how this could improve their Xero experience.

Hi team, thanks for sharing your interest in a payroll product for Gibraltar. Being upfront, we don't have any plans in the near term for developing specific payroll products for other regions, and will move the idea to Not in pipeline to set the expectation here.
You will still be able to vote here so it'd be good to still understand if there is wider interest.
If you need to process payroll there are app partners available through our Xero app store, we encourage you to review their app store listings to see which is the right fit for your business.

Thanks for raising this with the community. The request is for SPPA annual returns to be supported within Xero UK Payroll, either through a direct integration or an export in the required format.
This could reduce the manual work involved in compiling pension information for part-time employees and mid-year starters.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. If SPPA reporting is something you need, add your vote and share what information you currently have to prepare manually.

Hi Julia, thanks for sharing your idea about having non-taxable figures entered on the opening balances so that YTD figures reflect accurately on payslips.
From an HMRC compliance standpoint, Xero does calculate the correct tax because it captures the accurate "Taxable Pay" opening balance. However, we completely understand how the lack of a "Total Gross" field can cause confusing presentation issues on payslips after a mid-year migration.
