Our product teams are working to make this easier for you in Xero Payroll - We’re updating the timesheet admin experience, including a new timesheet list and a redesigned details view to help you find what you need faster.
Join our early access program
We’d love your help to shape these improvements. We’re looking for customers who manage or approve employee timesheets to join an early access program, where you'll try the new interface and give feedback directly to our team.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on allowing authorised employees to approve timesheets. We appreciate you sharing how having managers approve timesheets without full payroll access could help streamline processes.
Our product team is currently exploring more granular permission levels in payroll, so we’ve moved the idea to Accepted.
Although this isn't currently on the roadmap, we'll keep you updated as things progress. Thanks for your continued input.

Thanks for your support and joining in this idea. We get the challenges involved in manually chasing up employees to complete timesheets each pay period.
Although it's not the integrated solution you’re looking for, you could look to set up recurring calendar events or using external communication tools to prompt your team members.
We want to be transparent that we don't have any plans for adjusting the existing notifications for timesheets.
We'll continue to monitor this idea, and should our priorities shift in the future we'll let everyone know here.

Hi everyone, we really appreciate the sentiment and engagement on the idea of being able to forecast leave balances.
We know this feature could make planning ahead and managing leave approvals much easier, but at this stage it’s not something we’re planning to develop in the near term, so we’ll be moving it to 'Not in pipeline'.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on how this idea trends in the community and will leave it open for voting. If our plans change, we’ll share an update here.

Hi everyone, thanks for your patience and feedback on this feature request.
We’ve been slowly rolling out a new timesheet experience to all of our customers. In this new workflow, you can select multiple Draft or Pending Approval timesheets and approve them in bulk.
Please note that bulk reject and bulk delete are not currently available, so those actions remain one at a time.
We’ll update this status once the rollout has reached 100% across all organisations.

100% support this suggestion. It's hard to understand why Xero can grant permission for managers to approve leave requests but lacks the functionality for them to approve timesheets for the employees they manage. This seems like a basic feature that is standard in every other payroll platform we use. It creates unnecessary gaps in workflow and oversight, which could easily be resolved by giving managers the same approval authority for timesheets.
