Thanks for your feedback, everyone. We really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and the needs you've expressed about how auto linking recurring invoices to projects would save time, and give you more insights into project profitability.
The primary way to link repeating invoice line items to a project is to manually assign them to the project once the invoice has been generated, though we know you're looking for ways to streamline this process.
We've carefully reviewed all your comments and the strong desire for this functionality, however after much consideration, we've decided that we won't be developing the ability to assign repeating invoices to projects in the foreseeable future.
We understand this news might be disappointing, especially for those who've been vocal about this need for some time. Decisions like these are always tough. We have to balance a wide range of requests and development priorities across all aspects of…

b/c this isn't a feature, i will not be using Projects to track my over 30 clients time metrics. This is crazy. why are repeating invoices so hard for Xero to figure out? Same goes with 1 time credits. I have to literally wait for an invoice to post to a client b4 I apply a credit to it. or apply it & set a reminder to remove it in 30 days. WOW.

See attachment to expound on why this feature is so critical. XERO could EASILY determine which account the $$ was transferred to based on amount & date since they would be the same. We can make a bank rule if the last 4 of the account number the money was transferred to is stated in the description, but some banks are vague & don't give amplifying info, so this needs to be done manually by us. Some of my clients have a TON of checking accounts (ie: real estate investors). Why am i fishing around the accounts looking for the match when a XERO script could do it instantly. BONKERS.

Sounds like i need to beat the drum on this. I get a lot of referrals & like to give my clients a quick $100 credit on their next invoice. The loops i have to jump through to just add 1 quick credit for people is bonkers. I literally have to set reminders on my calendar to change things then change them back. Dumb.

It does sound like you've set up the Balance sheet in a bit of a niche way to track what you're after here, Sal. Appreciate you wanting more flexibility on how you filter tracking and being able to add a secondary filter for bank account.
I want to be open that this isn't something that we have plans for. We'll continue to track interest from your idea here, but would need to see quite a bit of community support to look at making a change for this in the report.

Hi community, just jumping in here to share that we have recently made an improvement to the groups feature in Xero HQ 🎉
Within a Client record, you can now see what groups they belong to, and add or remove them - check out this article for more information. Please note, this is not available as a report, but is available on a client by client basis. While the team have been really busy working on the single client record, they also hope to introduce a Groups list and group details (similar to what is currently available in XPM) to increase the ability to manage Groups within HQ. We’ll be sure to return & update you here when that’s available.
