It's truly baffling how such a critical feature was overlooked during the redevelopment of the new Invoice format in Xero. How is it possible that something as essential as the ability to allocate a project job to an invoice wasn’t prioritised? Do you have any idea how time-consuming it is to manually go through each invoice, edit it, allocate the job, save it, and repeat the process just to ensure the invoice shows up correctly in the Project reports? It's a tedious and inefficient task that completely disrupts workflow—especially when you're trying to get an accurate view of income for the month. How can such a fundamental part of the system have been missed in the planning stages? It’s beyond frustrating to see something so crucial overlooked in the face of all the new development work.

I can't believe this hasn't been implemented yet. As a small business owner that does my own admin, having to do this manually is a major drawback.

This would be a huge time saver to have for both repeating bills and repeating invoices.

This is a must have, Nearly all our invoices are for repeating VoIP Phone system subscriptions.

The same request goes for importing supplier bills via a csv, you should have a column for projects.

It's staggering that you don't already have this feature. Its a couple of days work per month to manually apply.

We have just moved over from Kashflow which does this. Its SO bad we may have to move back.

This is definitely a HUGE gap in the functionality of Xero projects!!!

We desperately need the ability to assign EACH LINE ITEM TO A DIFFERENT XERO PROJECT in Repeating Invoices. It's so time consuming right now to manually assign these after the invoice is generated.

Getting rid of the admin burden of having to do this manually would be a huge benefit

This sounds like a really small simple feature to include that will provide great efficiencies and insight for SMB Owners.

Please implement this feature (ability to assign to a project) ASAP.

For value pricing this is critical.

Please can you, as a matter of urgency, look at providing the ability to assigning repeating invoices to a given project. This is absolutely key to our business.

This is a crucial feature, and quite common in other accounting software programmes. PLEASE IMPLEMENT THIS ASAP!!

Such a simple and crucial thing and still IMPOSSIBLE to do in the oh-so-sophisticated Xero. Instead, Xero keeps increasing their prices. I'm not impressed.

This is indeed a crucial feature, and quite common in other accounting software. This should be implemented asap!

Think about a monthly retainer for consultancy services. When you have spent more hours that month and you add the time to the project, it should automatically be added to the monthly invoice. Like this, projects is almost useless and automatics payments too, since you still have to send the invoices manually!

I'm looking at upgrading to the top tier level to get Projects access to replace Harvest, however, this is a critical feature that I need for how my billings work - Harvest can do this!

nearly 2 years on and this feature seems simple to implement a yet nowhere to be seen. its a bit of a show stopper and i now have to look for an alternative solution.

It is unbelievable that this doesn't exist. Also, if the invoice is for time, there is no time costs added to the project. Makes using repeating invoices for projects useless, as all the time costing has to be manually added to the Project even if an invoice is produced automatically. This is critical - please implement this Xero

This is a critical function of a project module. If you need to open each repeating invoice to tag it to a project, the purpose of the repeating invoices has been defeated.
