Hey everyone, we've been following the conversation closely and we want to acknowledge how important this is for many of you.
Atm, we’re on a long journey to provide more controls within Xero features that our customers need. Being such a broad idea that touches many areas of our platform, we’d like to encourage adding your votes to specific user permissions that matter most to you, such as:
- Bank Accounts: For more control over who can see bank account balances and access specific accounts, please see the idea here: User Role - Restrict access to individual bank accounts

Hi community, we'd like to provide an update for you all here with backorders for tracked inventory now in the process of rolling out to customers.
As this rolls out, customers will be able to approve sales invoices for tracked inventory even when there isn't enough available stock.
Your stock on hand will be allocated straight away, and the remaining quantity goes on backorder. Incoming stock is then automatically allocated to the oldest approved backorders.
This coupled with the ability to track the receiving of goods from a Purchase order through to Bills will help solve for needs shared in this idea.
We throughly appreciate all your input through this thread and will come back to confirm once this roll out reaches 100% of users. 😊

Hey everyone, thank you for all your feedback. We’re on a long journey to provide more granular access and controls within Xero features that our customers need.
As you may have seen in some of our recent updates across other user roles ideas we’re currently in the process of adding more permissions within Reporting and Inventory. Further to this our research has highlighted Payroll and Banking as areas that more controls are most needed, and are on our agenda as we continue to develop permissions and access to features.
Your feedback here and through direct engagements with our teams have been extremely insightful, and we appreciate all your inputs.
I'll continue to provide updates on the development of roles for features as we progress.

Heya team, we're now actively testing how reports could be grouped and accessed, and we'd love your input in this, so we can design a better report grouping structure that supports role-based access in reporting.

Hi team, we’ve begun rolling out our new Reporting permissions, marking a major shift toward more flexible, configurable roles in Xero.
You’ll soon be able to grant Invoice only Sales or Purchase users access to specific operational reports without exposing access to all of the organisation's reports.
We’re currently in a phased release and expect these changes to be available to all users over the coming weeks.
I’ll swing back again to confirm once these changes are live to all users.

I believe it should be a very important adjustment that should be made. Full access to reports but shouldn't be able to see Bank Accounts & Feeds.
