Hi Juliet, thanks for sharing this idea! A direct "See All" link on the dashboard would make it even easier to view and manage all your bank accounts in one place.
Right now, you can click into Accounting > Bank Accounts to see the full list, but having a single shortcut from the Homepage would help you move through your reconciliation tasks more smoothly. I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so our product teams can track interest and see how this could enhance the daily experience for users.

With our reimagined navigation this is something our product teams considered closely, however there is a bit of work involved to achieve what's being asked and we want to be open it's not in the roadmap right now. However, we're keeping a pulse on the feedback here and will be sure to share if there's any progress. Thanks

Hi team, while the status of this idea remains unchanged from our last post we did want to provide an update in the channel here.
As shared previously there's the possibility of exploring third-party apps like Google's High Contrast, which allows you to change the colour on your screen so it's easier to read.
Our Xero Accounting app is a bit of a different kettle of fish and for iOS users there is a dark mode available from the 'Appearance' option that you can navigate to from the 3 dot menu in the top right of the app screen.
Though we fully understand and appreciate needs for wanting dark mode, the ability to develop this requires resource from across all areas of product to implement in the web version. Providing dark mode is not on our current roadmap.
If there are any further changes to share we will provide further…

Hi everyone, it does sound like a bank feed status indicator would be a really helpful addition, giving you a quick sense of whether your imported statement lines are fully up-to-date or still processing.
We understand how important it is to have that confirmation—without a clear visual cue, it can be hard to tell if the feed is still loading, has completed, or if something has gone wrong. Knowing the current status at a glance helps you trust the numbers and act quickly if there’s an issue.
As such, we've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest in making bank feed status more visible on the homepage. It would be great to hear from the community and understand how this could make a difference for everyday workflows.

Hi Lyn, thanks for adding your feedback on our prototype for the new Xero homepage in regards to running totals for VAT/GST/BAS and Corporation/AU/NZ Tax, this is incredibly valuable to the team as they make the refinements.
We know this addition would help you keep a closer eye on your business's financial health. We appreciate your continued feedback on the prototype homepage and encourage you to leave more feedback for us.

The new homepage is full of poorly designed widgets - but I wanted to give you a specific example where the new design has gone wrong.
Compare the old VAT widget and the new VAT widget. At a glance the old VAT widget:
1. Clearly shows two separate submissions, due to the line that separates them.
2. The payment due (in 2 days) clearly stands out as being important due to that entry being in bold and the amount being right-aligned within the widget.
3. The title (and time status since last update) being in a different colour, clearly indicates it's ancillary information. (The title being blue also indicates that this is a clickable link to take me to the VAT section.)
Compare this to the new widget:
4. The major eye-drawing information is "91 days". This is no where near as important as the 2 day payment deadline. (NB: It might be important if there wasn't a more important deadline before the 91 days, or if the 91 days was actually under 30 days or something.)
5. It's not as clear that there are two submissions being reported; indeed the second listed submission is done in such a way to suggest it's sub-information of the top listed information
6. As a result of the stylistic changes, it's very easy to miss the 2 day deadline - the most important information that's being conveyed.
I raise this widget specifically as it's a good example of why the new dashboard widgets completely miss the mark in being as efficient as the old dashboard widgets, and provides insight into where many of the new homepage design errors exist.
With the old widget it's easy to scan the right-hand side of the widget and see that a payment is due, and the bold text and line separators assist in the instant recognition this is for the previous submission. Everything just "pops" from a simple eyeballing, no actual reading is needed.
With the new widget, nothing "pops" - you have to READ the widget to understand what needs to be done. The only thing that's popping is the 91 days, which is the least important information.
Most other widgets suffer from similar issues.
Can we please look to undertake another pass of ALL the widgets to improve their usability, and efficiency of information presentation.

Thanks for the input and sharing your feedback here, everyone.
We know many of you asked for widget borders to help separate information. As a first step, we’ve subtly darkened the homepage background to increase contrast and make the widget boundaries clearer.
We’d love to know if this change has made the information easier for you to scan and consume. Please do let us know here 🙏🏻

If you're able to apply custom CSS to the site, and know how to do this with browser extensions, you can use the following - I'm using this as a work-around to provide the widget borders until they get this fixed.
.dashboard-template-beta-widget--contents article { border: 1px solid #c0c0c0; }
NB: For anyone else using my previous CSS hacks, note that I've updated this to work better given the current version of Xero.

Perhaps useful for the technical minded and/or Xero devs...
I've added lines around the widgets myself. You can use add-ons for your browser (if you know technically what you're doing) to override the style for Xero itself.
If you know how to do this, and want to do this as a temporary work-around, you can use the following CSS - this will fix the number of columns to 3 no matter the screen size, and will add a border around the widgets.
.dashboard-template-beta-grid { grid-template-columns: repeat(3, 1fr) !important; }
.dashboard-template-beta-widget { width: auto !important; height: auto !important; }
.dashboard-template-beta-widget--contents { height: auto !important; border: 1px solid #c0c0c0; }I've made a raft of style changes myself to the new homepage using browser add-ons to override Xero's own style - temporary workaround until they fix everything.

Hi there!
Thanks for sharing such detailed feedback on the bank balance charts.
I’ve categorized this as Gaining Support. While we don't roll back to previous versions of the homepage, I’ve refined your idea to focus on making the balance charts configurable (1, 3, 6, or 12 months).
This covers your need for historical data while allowing for future flexibility.
Since our forum works best with one idea per post, I've focused on the chart visibility first. I’d recommend raising the "balance projection" as a separate suggestion so it can be voted on individually!

What's annoying is that the new homepage Bank Account widget uses roughly the same amount of space as the old widget, yet it displays significantly less information with the removal of the graph.
It's also broken. The other day, for me, it was showing the account as having the green tick and saying "reconciled" even though the balances were different and transactions still needed to fully reconciled. The old widget always would have shown that review/actions are needed.
I also preferred the style of the old pop-up menu which clearly listed options under headings - find, new, reconcile, feeds. When I was new to Xero this was much more "newbie friendly". The new pop-up menu just lists everything in a single list and has some of the options removed.

Hi everyone, it makes a lot of sense to want a cleaner way to organise dashboard widgets. When related items like bank accounts or invoice summaries are grouped together, it’s easier to find what you need without much scrolling..
For now, you can use the Edit dashboard button at the bottom of the page to reorder widgets—move your most-used ones to the top and hide the rest.
This idea is now Gaining Support, so we can see how many others would like more control over dashboard layout. We’d love to hear how you’d group your widgets—keep the votes and comments coming!

Hi Terry, it's great to hear your idea on how to make the dashboard work harder for you! Having your key reports front and center would make it more accessible.
Right now, jumping into the full reports menu multiple times a day can feel a bit repetitive, especially when you rely on certain custom reports.
For now, you can use the “Starring” feature in the Reports center. Star your favourites and they’ll appear at the top of the Reporting menu for quicker access. Some users also find it handy to bookmark report URLs in their browser for instant access.
This idea is now Gaining Support, so the product team can see how much interest there is in more dashboard customisation.

Hi Debbie, thanks for sharing this idea! Giving a Subscriber control over the team’s homepage layout would be really useful—helping everyone focus on the right tasks while keeping sensitive information private.
Right now, each user customises their own dashboard, so it can be tricky for admins to know exactly what’s visible. For now, User Roles can limit access to certain data, or you can share a simple SOP with a screenshot of your preferred layout for staff to match.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would find this helpful. Your feedback really helps guide what we look at next.

Thanks for sharing your feedback on the new navigation, Cath. We really appreciate hearing the changes that'd make the most impact for you.Our team are monitoring this forum closely to consider further improvements.
For now, we'll get a sense of others that'd find a shortcut to Hubdoc useful, too.

Hi Andrea, appreciate your sharing on how having a “Tax and Reporting” shortcut on the dashboard would make accessing tax returns and key reports quicker and simpler. Navigating through multiple menus can slow things down, especially when deadlines are looming.
In the meantime, you can access your VAT return directly from the Tax menu on the navigation bar for quicker access.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how much this shortcut could help make compliance tasks faster and more efficient.

Hi Geoffery, thanks for sharing this! We can see how a smoother experience on slower connections would make working in Xero more seamless, especially when you’re remote or have limited internet.
Right now, using the Xero mobile app for lighter tasks or clearing your browser cache can help speed things up, but we know a dedicated low-bandwidth mode would make day-to-day work even easier.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how much of a difference this would make.

Thanks for sharing this, where you'd like an option to hide notifications like this one from the menu banner, and free up some space on the screen.
We've reviewed this. and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. You might like to share this idea with any colleagues that this could benefit, so they can add their votes and comments about how they'd like this too!

It's not important or critical for me personally, hence I've not voted, but I certainly +1 this suggestion... in this day an age, and given how easy switching CSS/styles are based on user preferences, there is absolutely no reason to not provide this in this day and age.
