Thanks you for adding this idea Frank, its appreciated you explaining that being able to add a template for receipts as well as invoices is something you would like to see in the contact file. This idea is now open to votes and comments and you can share this with your friends and colleagues so we can get a gauge of community support. We will update the idea here if there are any changes.

Hi everyone, returning to the idea here there have been a few changes since this was raised that may solve your needs.
Our new Invoice template editor has been rolled out to all regions which also allows you to customise the invoice title. Meaning you could have a theme that was completely dedicated to 'Receipts'.
When you want to send a receipt to your customer you would need to adjust the branding on the invoice to then send with this template.
Right now, although the online invoice would show as Tax Invoice, if you include a PDF this would show with your customised Invoice title.
Also the email template has been updated for Paid invoices so this will now just show 'View Invoice' when it has no balance to pay.
We appreciate this is not the complete solve that has been asked here but hope these changes may help with…

Thanks for sharing your idea in the forums here, Natascha. Can see how if you have a big batch this could save you time from having to scroll through and uncheck the suppliers that don't have an email.
While this isn't something we have immediate plans of we'll continue to get a sense of the interest from your idea here.
We have a big focus on enhancing and expanding our billing payment solutions across Xero and regions so we'll let you know if there are any plans that'd help in your idea here.

Hi Anna, thanks for sharing this suggestion. Being able to send a remittance advice directly from the bank reconciliation screen could help streamline payment workflows and save time when processing supplier payments.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would improve your workflow, we'd love to hear more about when you'd expect to send the remittance during the reconciliation process.

We understand the efficiencies this could provide to your workflows and it's something our product team have reviewed and are interested in developing, however we do not have this work planned just yet. We’ll let you know here if there’s any more news about this in our future roadmap.

Xero can generate a receipt for payment that exactly matches an invoice, yet cannot generate a similar receipt for payment that shows the payment of the invoice and overpayment. Why is still a non-feature 13 years after the issue was first raised?
