AU Payroll - Allocate Paid Parental Leave pay items to a liability account
Currently the PPL pay item can only be allocated to an expense account.
This is not in line with the Australian Accounting Standard.
Can Xero update the ability to allocate to a liability account, please?

UK Payroll - Coding of Direct Employer NI and Direct Pension costs
In the Payroll software, we can only allocate Direct wages to the cost of sales. Unfortunately, that doesn't include Employer NI nor Employer Pension cost in the cost of sales.
Such coding would be useful, as we now use Birghtpay to do such coding.
Without this feature, the gross profit margin and overheads are incorrect.4 votes -

The BACS file in Xero has a beneficiary reference of PAIDOK

AU Payroll - Approve leave request from email
Approve employee leave requests directly from notification email.
As a Leave Approver, I want to be approve or reject leave applications directly from the notification email so that I don't have to continually login.

AU Payroll - Remove terminated employees
Ex Employees older than 5 years cannot be deleted. Data still contains payslips. Old data can be overwritten but payslips remain and employee cannot be deleted because Xero thinks it is in a payrun. This is a cyber security breach as old data of ex employees can still be accessed and cannot be deleted.

Xero Me | Expenses - Add stops for Mileage Reimbursement
Add the ability to add stops to mileage reimbursement. This way a person can add a round trip or add stops between the round trip to collect all mileage for the 1 trip.
15 votesThanks for the idea and adding your interest here, everyone. In lieu of a direct feature to accommodate this atm, you may find duplicating the claim to record each part of a trip useful in cutting down the data entry. We'll let you know if there's any change planned here.

UK Payroll - Notification when leave requests are created for the same date
Flag duplicate leave entries on the same day
We are extracting leave data through API to manage resourcing including leave booked. We have a few cases of employees with duplicate leave on the same day entered and approved in error. It would be great to see a flag or warning pop up to approvers and payroll admins where more than a standard number of hours leave is applied to a given day. The number of hours comprising a working day could ideally be set for each employee.7 votes -
NZ Payroll - Ability to log start/end times in timesheets
The upgrade allowing start and end times and breaks to be entered into timesheets looks fantastic. Please can you let NZ users have access to it too.

Timesheet detail report - Include timesheet notes
When clients use Xero Me they use the notes section on the timesheet to communicate and for some staff advise their managers what tasks they have completed on that day. Xero help confirmed today these notes are no longer visible once the timesheet is approved meaning we have lost visibility of this information. My client is very unhappy that I did not advise them of this issue, unfortunately as this is a new way of completing the timesheets I wasn't aware this was going to happen, previously my clients were sending me a spreadsheet each fortnight and I was manually…

AU Payroll - Update historic tracking when Employee Group is changed
It would be a great addition to be able to allocate employees to a particular employee group and from this run historical employee summary reports by employee.
At present when setting up tracking categories the tracking in employee reports will only track payruns once the employee groups are setup. Any historical payruns are not included. This makes it difficult to compare periods or look at employee group reports for the year to date.
There should be an ability to apply the employee grouping tracking to all or some of the historical payruns.

In Xero payroll, when pay runs are posted before the pay date there needs to be a delay in the employees accessing payslips

AU Payroll - Employees to enter tracking categories in timesheets
Employees to be able to add tracking categories in the 'Start and end hours' timesheet setting, rather than a payroll administrator having to do it manually before approving.

Xero Me | Timesheets - Ability to choose different earnings rate
Before we had start/stop times, employees were able to add different pay rates (ie Saturday Penalty Rate). It would be excellent if this option could be included with the start/stop time version in Xero Me.

Reports - Option to use pay periods dates rather than payment date
I would prefer that the dates displayed on the Payroll Activity Details & the Payroll Employee Summary reports are the beginning and of the pay period.

AU Payroll - Leave requests for part time workers that dont work standard hours
When multiple days are requested the ability to adjust the hours for leave application so it matches the ordinary hours for particularly days.

While this is something the team will continually review as they keep developing Payroll for Australia, we want to be open that this is not in the direct plans atm.

AU Payroll - Keep a record of date/time timesheet was entered
Add an automated time record of the time that the timesheet entry was recorded. We can then ensure that our team are entering their timesheets throughout the day as they work on files.

UK Payroll - Option to backdate SMP after a pay increase
Allow users to change weekly SMP amount after a payrise to allow simple updates to extra SMP owing without having to delete all previous payruns back to the maternity leave start date.

AU Payroll - Add expire date for Time Off in Lieu
According to different awards Time off in Lieu is suppose to expire in 6 months time if not used. Currently you can only bank and take Time off in Lieu. It would be great if Xero could automatically expire hours not used as this is a common practice in many employee Awards.
