  1. Having developed and managed both hardware and software development products for many years, Xero has the best product support I have seen.

    They are all very knowledgeable of the Xero product and the customers that continually moan at the short comings of a very poorly designed product.

    My advice, is to utilise the product support team to write the customer requirement specifications of the Xero product, using the Product Idea portal and the "competition" as the starting point of Xero 2.0. Then the development team can write the software and then let the product support team alongside Xero customers "test"…

    Really do appreciate the feedback, David and it's great to hear you've had such good experiences with our Xero Support team.

    While we can't run every single feature that our product teams deliver through our support team, this is a very regular occurrence. Our product teams will often engage other teams internally to understand the pain points of users that they are trying to solve for and in many cases they may release features internally with Xero staff to test and feedback on features before they are released externally.

    Just as you noted there are also other measures of testing that our teams have in place to evaluate the performance of features before they are delivered.

    Our product teams will continue to evolve their thinking in how we test, and review features before they are released so we can build and deliver products that create positive customer experiences.

  3. Can we please bring back the 'add last items' for an invoice?
    This saved us A LOT of time on regularly customers.
    Not sure why it was removed.

    Hi everyone, i can confirm that '+ Last items' is available when you add a contact in new invoicing and is shown beneath the contact name. The items added will be for the last invoice that was approved for that contact.

    The only exception here is if you have the Invoice only Draft role in which case this feature is not available.

    We're looking at slight improvement to where this is placed on the invoice to make it more noticeable. However, if you have the right permissions and still aren't seeing this option where you'd expect it to appear when invoicing, please raise a case with our team of specialists who have tools to get a closer look and see why this option mightn't be appearing for you.   4. There is no reason to keep the previous bank holidays on every payslip.

    I can’t seem to get rid of previous bank holidays from showing on current/future payslips. Why are bank holidays from the Easter and the King's Coronation still appearing on payslips May 2023 onwards?? Doesn’t look very professional. This is all on the YTD earnings line. Why isn't there an option to remove it? Clients are not very happy.

    Hi everyone, returning now a few weeks on from our last update, we’re going to move this idea to ‘Delivered’ with the change the team made to Payslip PDFs. We have now combined all previous earnings as one YTD line so that your employees only see the most relevant information 🥳

  5. Once a quote has been accepted by the client it would be great if that acceptance was reflected on the customer facing side of the quote. This would allow them to click on the original link sent to them to confirm that their quote is now reflected as "accepted" so for clients who manage multiple quotes and may have to refer back from time to time they are easily able to do so and have a record on their end that their booking (in our case) is confirmed.

    Hi Caitlin, with the online quote link these are updated in real time. So if you send a customer a quote and it is accepted on their end this'll show on the online quote straight away.

    Similarly if the quote is marked as accepted from within Xero, it does take a refresh if the online quote if it's open at the time however it'll also show as accepted on the quote. 😊

    Hey team, if you'd like to see a report that shows changes made to payroll such as salary changes, you can use the Payroll History report.

    It can be run for a specified date range and will show the date the changes were made, what the changes were, the employee affected and the user who made the changes.

    Hi team, as an update to my last post, we have now rolled out the Leave Requests report in UK Payroll. This report lists the details for leave requested, approved and taken, for all employees or can be run for a singular employee, and will help when planning rosters or work schedules. Payroll Admins will be able to find and access it through the Reports Centre found in the Accounting menu. We're aware that the Leave Requests report does not meet all of the requirements as outlined in the comments of this idea, and we have created a new idea for a Leave Transactions Report. We will track interest of this idea and keep an eye on this separately, so please do join and support if this is of interest to you.

  9. Current volume limit is too low. I can't even run the account transaction report including all the account codes for the whole financial year. It's not ideal to run a few report and add together. Strongly recommend Xero increasing the volume limit for the report.

  10. When managing the finances for rental properties it would be great if a default rate could be set up against the 'Account' for rent payments so that the Unit Price ie weekly rent, doesn't have to be entered each time (52 times a year)

  12. Hi xero team, all my friends are recommended to use Xero for my small buisiness, its so easy to ure and so on, but i found so hard to established. i still couldn't able to link my bank account. this message comes up when i tried to link, see in the attached files.

    Sorry to hear the trouble you were having with setting up, Ngawang.     Please add:
    Friday before the AFL Grand Final Friday 27 September

    I tried but was not able to manually add this as an extra Public Holiday

    Thanks for sharing in the idea here, Faye! While we don't have plans to change the current set up - as suggested when you choose to "Add Holiday" rather than selecting one of the drop down options, you can just type in the Holiday that you want to add.

  15. Add another option on the SAVE button for Supplier Invoice entry (and Sales I guess but we don't use XERO for our Sales) to enable a previously entered invoice to be copied from and then SAVED as a RECURRING INVOICE. There have been many times I would love to have had this option.

    Hi team, just as a follow up to my last update - along with the ability to bulk void bills, it is now also possible to bulk void payslips. See my last update for more detail on this process 🙂

  17. Allow change to email format so that the VERY LARGE $X,*** 'Review and pay' button can be removed - as it can in the Classic invoicing. I have a large client who has stated they will leave Xero, rather than send emails in this format. They find it too aggressive.

    Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback here. Right now it is possible to hide the 'Review and Pay' buttons completely from the Email Settings in the Organisation  settings. From here you can disable the 'Include quick link to online invoice and detail summary' setting to hide the payment buttons entirely.

    Just to note, this does strip back the email formatting so you might like to send yourself a copy to see what this then looks like once the option has been disabled. Thanks

  18. When selecting the date, why only have today and tomorrow, not the calendar. A lot of the time when entering an invoice, it will be dated to a previous day. Why not have the calendar and these options? Or have yesterday as an option.

    So far, this new invoicing is a mess and definitely doesn't make life easier. Improvements are needed.

    Hi community, appreciate things are a little different between classic invoicing and new. While we've created common date selections when entering dates using new invoicing you can still pick any date you need. 

    From the date field, under Today and Tomorrow, is 'Pick another date', clicking this will open a calendar popup so you can select the date you need. You may also find some of our date entry shortcuts useful when entering this information in Xero.

  19. Can the new invoicing template show address like the classic invoicing template does?
    Classic invoicing - Shows company address and the person it is addressed to (Attention:) when viewing the invoicing from our end
    New Invoice - Only shows the company name and to check if the address is correct and if the person it is addressed to is correct you have to click on Edit or download it as a pdf to verify it.

    Hi team, with our latest updates to new invoicing you're now able to see your contacts address if they have one saved when viewing the invoice. 

    Appreciate the question around being able to edit the address and to confirm - you'll find in view mode you can click on the contact to view the contact card. If you'd like to edit the address click the small link in the top right of the contact card. This'll pop the contact open in a separate browser tab where you can edit and add a billing and/or delivery address. 🙂

  20. Most Small business owners like myself are not accountants. Getting Xero working and using the integrations with hubdoc has been lots of trial and error and frustration. It would be so much easier if as part of starting an account I had someone for the first month to get online with me who can see my screen and walk me through how to do all of the basics such as: 1. How do I correctly bring a receipt into xero through hubdoc so it matches to transactions I can reconcile? 2. How do I setup the quote system to work…

    Our Support team are able to offer some of this sort of guidance, and can answer specific questions. We also have some great getting started resources available on Xero Central with guidance, courses and content that can be a good starting point.
