    Hi everyone, thanks for your interest in this idea.

    For now, I wanted to share that we're aware some users have the following process to record their transactions. The example uses a vehicle with a purchase price of £1500, and a sale price of £2000.

    1. Record the purchase of the vehicle on a purchase Bill for the full purchase price of £1500 with a tax rate of VAT Exempt. So the purchase is recorded in box 7 on the VAT return.
    2. Record the sale of the vehicle on an Invoice for the full £2000 - using the Tax Exclusive option, and then manually changing the VAT calculated to the required amount - £83.33 (i.e. 20% on the profit of £416.87 or 1/6 of £500) by clicking the small plus box above the Tax Rate.

    This will mean that you only charge £83.33 VAT for the overall profit figure, and ensuring the correct amounts are reflected in boxes 1, 3, 5 and 6.

  2. Currently expense reports are not fit for purpose. You can't even order non-approved expenses by date or export them.

    You need to be able to order unapproved expenses by date and by project/customer.

    You need to be able to add description and project/customer information into the expense claims report.

    Xero is **** at expense management frankly and with a few minor changes could be so much better. I should get a refund on my subscription for the wasted time.

    Sorry to hear your're not satisfied with Xero Expenses, Jeremy. Appreciate there are a few things that you've noted that you feel could enhance your experience when using expenses. 

    We do try to keep one idea per thread to make it simple for community to understand what they're adding their support and to help share this back with our product teams. I've adjusted the title of your idea here to reflect exporting expenses. We have an idea for changing the sort order here, and  you're welcome to start new ideas for any other points you've shared too. 

  3. Modify the Budget Manager so that it accepts 2 decimal places and does not round to the nearest full dollar.

    Rounding all figures means that the Net Profit amount is incorrect which means the budgets are incorrect.

  4. Please can a QTD column be added on the Accounts Watchlist rather than This Month? A quarterly client is requesting this as they view the Dashboard regularly and this would be extremely useful to them.

  5. Hi Community, we need to have the option to copy part of the invoice when we are doing it, and then, copy that on the same invoice we are working, many times we need to invoice the same things to the same client but separate it by levels or offices into the same invoice, we can save a lot of time with this function when we are writing a big invoice.

  6. Are you able to generate comparatives button on the BAS's and IAS's for the previous period and the same period last year, like there is for tax returns? This would be a handy tool to use when reviewing.

  7. I exported the Detailed Account Transaction Report. Additional column I need is the transaction number so I could group or filter the specific transaction/s that I want to conduct further analysis.

  8. A 'Deleted' folder in Files that captures deleted files.

    Once I have uploaded a receipt to the files folder, I always dispose of the original.

    If you accidentally attach it too, and then delete it from the transaction, it is gone forever. You have no ability to reload it from the files folder.

    The original uploaded file is gone, so you have to source another copy of the receipt from the supplier.

    Surely this deleted uploaded file has gone somewhere?

    Can we have it directed to a folder?

  9. After uploading or emailing files to Xero, have it perform some sort of OCR and create a transaction, or spend money or something. It's almost like opening a beer and not drinking it. Please Xero at least 'take a sip'. Just left MYOB ofter 10 years, this is automatic in MYOB! I think the idea here is to make the computers do more work and we do less......right?

    Hi Scott, returning to your idea here I wanted to share a few different options depending on your needs that could help. As you may be aware we have Xero Expenses that has a capture element that will read your receipts that are uploaded to transcribe into the expense claim receipt, alternatively there is the ability to email to bills to capture and create a draft bill in your organisation, and we also have a new feature in bills that'll be rolled out to everyone soon where you can upload a file directly from your device to create a draft bill using the detail of your upload.

  10. Add the ability to open an account transaction report by clicking on the number in a total line of the balance sheet or P&L. The linked account transaction report would contain the account transactions for all accounts that were being totaled.

  11. I often have 30 or so bank transactions (both credit and debit) that I need to on-bill/on-credit to a customer. The process described in https://central.xero.com/s/article/Add-a-billable-expense-to-an-invoice requires multiple clicks per transaction and does not work for credits.

    In addition, there is no indication in the bank transaction list that the entry has been assigned to a customer as a cross-check.

  12. Xero can you please add a Remaining To Allocate line on the bills screen. Most of my bills are split between jobs so a remaining balance to allocate would save so much time having to manually calculate entries. See example attached. Especially when working on the go so a calculator is not required.

  14. Our bank has changed from export of bank statements from OFX to CFONB (see below the new French standard) which is not yet supported by Xero! This has a huge impact on our workflow and time spent on getting our many bank transactions in the system. Can anyone help and vote for this to be upgraded as a format for bank transaction import..

  15. To show the invoice line detail in project reporting rather than a consolidated invoice line.

    You have to allocate each individual line on the invoice to a project but on the project report it consolidates to just one line which doesn't make sense when you put the level of detail at the invoice that it doesn't pull through that detail to the project reporting.

Hi it would be really good if when searching for client statements in xero that the date in the 'and' box populates to the current date rather than one month previous, as its quite annoying having to change that to the current date all the time. I would think most people would prefer to be able to see the most up to date figures.

  19. In the new reports you can run a report, by supplier, of invoices that are due and planned to be paid, which is great. There is a differentiation between due and planned in both screen detail and reporting. The schuduled/planning option enables users or managers to plan which invoices they wish to pay either by viewing on Xero or running in a report. However, the reporting option puts the two together by adding in an invoice wiht the same due date, if a planned date has not been entered. This means that invoices not scheduled/planned to be paid are included…

    Hi team, thanks for sharing how this idea could make your workflow a little simpler when reconciling. While we're continuing to work on efficiencies to reconciling in Xero, I want to be open that adding the reference field to the main screen is not in our short term plans.
