  1. We tag documents for organisation in Hubdoc, but have no visibility of these in Xero, which makes no sense. These don't need to be editable, but it would make sense that it showed what tags were on an invoice. Even if this was detailed in the history of the invoice. This would be a massive time-saver!

  2. Most people using accounting software are keyboard proficient. Having to use a mouse to see and click on drop down lists is inefficient. This is particularly bad when applying payments to the new invoicing system. I can see you've updated this so that you can tab across when you're creating a new invoice - please extend this functionality to the payment field. (All we really want is for you to #BringBackClassicInvoicing)

    Hi Amanda, are there any particular fields you're having issues tabbing through in the payments window? We recently released a change so you can now type in dates rather than having to choose from the calendar.

  3. The new modernised GST returns in Xero no longer export the report name in the exported file name. The document only has the client name and date, not the report type anymore. Should say "XXXX Ltd 30 11 2024 GST Return", whereas it currently only says XXXX Ltd 30 11 2024". Inefficient to have to manually add the words "GST Return" for each report produced in Blue Xero when sending multiple documents to clients. Is there a way to get it back?   4. increase number of lines of transactions visible when reconciling the bank account as currently only 6 lines are visible which requires constant scrolling up and down to find the correct entries, even with filtering by supplier. A customer receipt can be entered with several lines and the lines cannot be filtered to just show receipts, it shows all the invoices outstanding too. As we issue hundreds of invoices, only seeing 6 lines means that it involves a lot of scrolling to find the relevant bank receipt entry and one bank receipt may have been split into several individual line transactions.

  5. I have set repeating invoices to repeat at the end of every calendar month. This seems to work fine for 30 day months, however, in a 31 day month, most of the invoices automatically redraft on the 30th, and only some on the 31st. The parameters for each recurring invoice template seem to be the same so I can't figure out why this keeps happening. To avoid the extra work to change most of them to the 31st each time, this feature needs to work consistently, and automatically generate draft invoices for the last day of the calendar month, regardless…

  6. Would it be possible to add a feature to colour code our chart of accounts - especially expenses? When I am at the petrol station adding a receipt for a fuel purchase, it would be great to scroll down to a colour (with the account number). Another idea would be to have a favourites for expenses - we could add the ones we use most often.

  8. Set the calendar to Sunday to Saturday for everything, including Invoices. - Xero recently changed the Calendar for only the invoices. The week day now starts on Monday. I was informed this change was intentional and is currently not going to be changed back. Credit Notes, Recurring payments, quotes, bills, reports, literally everything else has the week starting on Sunday. This is very cumbersome for our business. My staff are constantly putting the wrong date on invoices. We operate at very high speeds because we have a lot of customers come in at a time, and a lot to do…

  9. When we send a W9 request to a vendor via Xero the only way we have to know if they have completed the W9 request is by logging back into Xero and manually navigating to that vendor to check in on it.

    It would be great if admins/bookkeepers could receive a notification when the vendor completes the W9 request.

    Having that email notification of a vendor completing a w9 request would also enable us to trigger other automations.

  10. Option to set multiple contacts on a supplier profile for difference purposes.

    For example, 1 contact to send/submit the sales invoice and a different contact(s) to receive the automated reminders.

    depending on the supplier's payment process, the email address to submit the invoice might be an automated inbox (unmanned) or a different department from the account payable team which needs to approve the invoice first.

    I’m really disappointed to discover that the Xero Mobile App doesn’t provide any way to view the Balance Sheet - a core financial statement that forms half of any set of accounts and is the backbone of understanding a business’s position.

    As a property developer, tracking CAPEX spends per project is critical, and not having quick access to this information on the go is a significant limitation. Even a simple dashboard or quick-glance view in the app would make a huge difference for users like me who rely on Xero to manage their businesses efficiently.

  12. New Invoicing - Type in Item - please change back to only searching start of field, as per old invoicing.
    Now that typing in the Item field in the new invoicing brings up every item with that word or part word in anywhere, we either need to learn all the codes, or make sure our items all contain totally different words. It takes ages to find the item required.

  13. Looking for deleting wrongly created General Pool, which were created during the conversion of file to Xero Blue. Currently we can record an end date to the pool, but it doesn't stop the previous pools to stop appearing on the 'Run Depreciation' screen. No balances recorded, no movement at all.

  14. It has been observed customers who are late with invoices shield themselves buy saying if your statement of account is not updated/accurate we don't or wont pay till it is. This can be overcome with enabling SOA reminders which collate ALL overdue invoices to one reminder. Even better if it can be stapled to new invoices still within terms.

  15. Addresses should not be a mandatory condition for submitting TPAR Reports to the ATO via Xero. This is not mandatory with the ATO, why make it mandatory in Xero?

    Many contractor and supplier invoices don't have their addresses listed on their invoices. Some don't have offices and it would be understandable that they don't want to put their home address on the invoices.

    It is also quite cumbersome for us as the preparers when we can't lodge the TPARs in Xero and have to then line by line copy and paste out to submit via ATO.

  16. “Additional Item Costs” for Xero Products & Services
    Executive Summary
    Xero currently allows businesses to track basic purchase and sale prices for inventory items through its Products & Services functionality. However, in many industries, the true cost of an item extends far beyond its base purchase price — including shipping, customs, storage, Amazon FBA fees, handling charges, and other operational costs.

  17. The ability to have a set lock date EACH month. For example, every month by the 5th the prior month is locked for users other than the advisers. Currently you can manually do this, IF you remember.

    My issues is, if I do not remember the accounting clerk will go back multiple months creating entries and causing issues.

When your quote involves different vendors, it would be nice to have the option to create POs with a click of a button for all the vendors but because you can't specify a vendor for each item then at least let us select the line items. Also very important, any additional information that was added to the description during the quote / invoice process should be carried over to the PO.

    On financial reports. Instead of last financial year of this financial year wouldn’t it be better to have the years as the selection ie 2024/25 2023/24 2022/23. it will be much quicker to select the year especially is going back further than the current year.

    I know it's a little different to what you're directly asking here, but perhaps comparison columns and saving as custom could help where you can run the report for multiple date ranges at once and view the comparison across each?

  20. Please investigate cheaper crypto aggregation services than the ones available currently in your apps section. Currently (Aug 2025) all the ones there are for enterprise, or businesses that trade a LOT in crypto. And the prices are ludicrous for those of us with small amounts of crypto assets.

    Maybe get the IRD to fund your research and development of this kind of thing, because it will make proper tax reconciliation possible, and their investment will pay dividends.

    As an example, ZenLedger (https://zenledger.io/) lets us integrate all this information. It still costs a yearly fee (per tax year) but…
