  2. There is no indication of the original transaction currency per row, reducing transparency and accuracy for businesses dealing in multiple currencies.

    Purpose:

    1. Better Decision-Making
      Understanding ageing in both base and original currencies helps businesses evaluate true exposure and prioritize collections/payments more accurately.

    2. Audit and Compliance:
      For audit trails and compliance, showing both currencies makes it easier to justify reported amounts and FX differences.

  3. You can set your company preference to tax exclusive or tax inclusive, but the Xero email bills to Xero function does not follow the company settings and always puts to tax inclusive. Can this be as per the company settings? Eg we would like it to always be tax exclusive.

  4. It would be really handy when downloading bills if the default file name is the Reference [invoice] number and not a random internal Xero reference or document ID. Even better would be Supplier name + Reference [invoice] number

  5. As default, can you please turn off the check box "Show journal on cash basis reports"
    For users that rely on the 'Cash Summary' report, non-cash journals create significant difficulty getting a true read on the cash position of the business, a key requirement for this report. Thanks

  6. It would be great to have the ability that Xero gives you a warning when an item line in Invoicing has a $0.00 in the unit price before been approved.
    We have had clients that missed completing the price and then the Invoices are sent out.
    It would be handy if they got a reminder that this is $0.

    Thanks for sharing your idea with us, Gordon. As there are also legitimate scenarios where some customers may send 0.00 invoices adding an extra warning could also become frustrating.

    This is something we may consider as an optional control longer term but want to be upfront that we don't have any plans of right now. For now we'll get a sense of the interest in this from your idea here.

  7. It would save numerous steps if:

    When a new account is created from within a transaction (for instance spend money or journal entry) the option to add a reporting name was available, instead of having to update later through the chart of chart of accounts.

    When creating a new account, through the chart of accounts or elsewhere, that the Report Code mapping category could be allocated at the same time.

    Is this within an individual report, Maresa? If so, you're able to set up the report with the filters as you choose then save the report as Custom this way you'll have access to that report anytime with the same setup. If you'd like to set this as the org's default this is also possible 🙂

  9. It's currently not possible to export the Income Tax Self Assessment figures for the MTD for Income Tax quarterly submissions as a PDF to include them in a documents pack for client's approval via e-signature in Xero.

    This would be helpful from April 2026, so accountants can gain client's approval prior to submission with HMRC.

  10. Add the feature to run customer/supplier activity report for a range of customers.

    Xero team quote "this is already possible however it exists within a different report. You can run either the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail or Summary reports, where you'll be able to filter and select the contacts you'd like to run the report for."

    But it is not we required. Receivable only show outstanding receivable , not all transaction during the selected period for that customer.

    We would like to have some sort like customer movement report with selected filter of a range of customer.

    Hi there, appreciate you trying the report we shared in your last post. Taking on board your recent feedback, it still sounds like this is something you could get with Xero's existing reports.

    For example in the Receivable Invoice Details report, you could Group by Contact, select the Date Search to run by Due date, and add a filter for Status to only show invoices that are Approved or Sent, excluding those that are Paid.

    Alternatively the Aged Receivable Details report will offer similar information on only the invoices that are outstanding at the date the report is run.

    Hi Bethany, thanks for sharing this suggestion for improving our reports.

    We've reviewed your idea for an option to have Year-to-Date reports automatically generate columns for each month, which then total to the YTD figure. We can see how this dynamic layout would make monthly analysis much clearer and save time on report setup.

    Your suggestion is now ready to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share how a report that automatically adds monthly columns as the year progresses would improve their own financial analysis.

  12. At the moment Zero Rated GST can only be applied to Revenue items on the Chart of Accounts. When we deal with a property sale between GST registsred parties, the sale is also zero rated for GST purposes. We need the option to apply the 0% GST rate to asset codes as well as revenue codes. At the moment, we have to do a manual workaround.

  14. New NZ GST return - brings up the GST return for the wrong entity.
    This is not a new idea, but a critical flaw in the new GST return that needs to be addressed right away. I have gone to support and they confirm that it is a Xero issue. "Currently, the Product Team have confirmed it’s not possible to work on multiple GST returns across multiple browsers using the new GST return."   15. Automated bank rule reconciliation.

    A choice for a bank rule to be automatically reconciled - once created a option to select if you wish for the bank rule to be reconciled to remove the need for manual reconcile.

    This would be ideal for monthly direct debits and standing orders e.g. bank charges, drawings

    Hi Maresa, when you say you'd like to add Location would this be based on a Tracking category you've set up in the organisation? If so, you could add this when you create the original transaction(bill) the asset is raised from.

  18. Please set the bank reconciliation lines on the right-hand side to pre-populate with the details on the left=hand side, that is as long as there is no 'match'' and it is not a transfer. I'm mystified as to why I have to copy and paste all of the information from the left side to the right side when Xero could do this in a jiffy. Presently the pre-population remembers a long lost description I may have made such as 'birtthday gift' and Xero is remembering this forevermore.     We would like to highlight that in India, it is a regulatory requirement to maintain an edit log (Audit Trail) based on the Triple ‘W’ Approach – When, Who, and What.

    For example, if a journal entry is edited, the system should capture and display:

    Previous values (amount, GL code, date, narration, etc.)

    Since this is a regulatory requirement, could you please confirm if an enhancement can be made to comply with this, and share an estimated timeline?

  20. It seems we can only class expenses within the profit & loss as staff costs or other charges. Ideally the breakdown should match the tax return.
