Invoicing - Customers to pay deposits on invoices
To have the ability for customers to pay deposit through invoices
Purposes: Business can just send one invoice to customer/client, so they don’t have to send multiple invoices when it comes to part payment.

Thanks for your continued engagement with us on this idea, everyone. We understand there are many different ways business work and conduct business with customers, and that you need more flexibility in the way you manage and receive payments for invoices with Xero. While pockets of research have been done in the past we’re getting a fresh lens and conducting a broader piece of discovery to deeply analyse and understand where our efforts could be focused in this space to alleviate existing hurdles in receiving payments for majority of Xero users. We’d like to open the invite to be a part of our teams research pool, where you’d get the chance to share more on the importance of managing payments for your business. This may involve being interviewed, or helping answer questions through short surveys or questionnaires.
✍️ If this is something you’d like to be a part of, please fill in this short form. Our research team will be in touch with many of you over the coming months. Though we won’t be able to invite everyone into every stage, we’ll return to round out on their outcomes and how this forms our next steps.

Agree this would be a really beneficial addition. We have had clients ask for this exact option. Instead they have to process many individual invoices to complete what could be a very easy process.

How about the ability for the client to just be able to edit the amount of payment line on the invoices so they can at least make partial payments? Is that feature available or can be implemented?

Both functions should be implemented.
Deposits in invoices, incremental and split payments. The deposit is important before starting the job, but at the end of the job, in recent times, many clients don't have enough money, and they have to be "forced" to pay in instalments to clear the balance -

This feature would be incredibly useful. Like others we raise an invoice in full but initially require a 50% deposit. We have to manually type in the invoice body the deposit required and also change the email template to reflect this.

this is incredibly critical - it is annoying to have to raise two invoices for one project, one for the deposit and the other for the remaining balance due. If we want to have customers pay online, the only option is to pay the full balance of the invoice, not the 50% deposit due upon acceptance.

Pls add this feature if it’s not available yet

This is an important feature to enable automatic calculation of deposit amounts (eg 50% of amount quoted) and also have the Pay Now function give you the option to pay the agreed deposit amount of the full amount. Please fast track this feature! For some of our clients using Xero, this is a critical function so I've marked it as such.

This is a no-brainer requirement. We need to receive partial payments. If QB can do it so can we, surely!

This is a critical feature. Customer often have to pay deposits against an invoice before work commences. At a minimum, you should be able to enter the date you want to apply a prepayment to an invoice.

Allow customers to pay a deposit towards an invoice instead of paying the full amount.

Allow customers to pay a deposit towards an invoice instead of paying the full amount.
Purpose: Because some businesses start to do their work when the customer pays the 50% amount in advance first.
