Sales Invoices - Issue progress payments on invoices for project/instalment
Ability to issue progress payments on quotes /invoices to percentage claim certain items or expenses.
Purpose: Users can see the progress of the payments from their customer just from one invoice instead of sending separate invoices.

We regularly have preset stage payments in our quotes but they're only in the Ts&Cs part of the print template. We really want to allow the sales team to set payment terms in the quote that pull through to the job and to invoicing (eg 40% with order, 50% on project completion, 10% customer retention)

This critical and it appears this idea started in 2012, and still xero has not integrated it into the system. Is xero ever going to listen and improve to incorporate features that support how people actually do business?

My client would like to be able to create a quote or invoice for an entire project and then bill % or flat amounts against it. They would also like to be able to see the estimate for the whole project, how much has been billed, paid and how much remains to be billed. I used to do this easily in QuickBooks but I can't figure out how to get this functionality in Xero. I have tested out Xero projects but it doesn't seem to be possible there either unless I'm doing something wrong.

Additional purpose: allow for deposit/partial payments from customers and support them also being clear about the status and progress
