I'm writing a review on Trustpilot right now! Every update they do makes me wonder where their head is at. They obviously have never run a business.

This is a critical feature that every accounting software has. I didn't even think to look into this on the demo company. We are trying to stick it out because I don't have the time to switch to QuickBooks. I just wish I would have know this 6 years ago. Hopefully they take this seriously soon. But I know lots of businesses have been waiting longer then me.

XERO aren't reading these comments. The only way they will listen is if they are on reviews online. I've just added a review on Trustpilot. I suggest others do the same. Then maybe when their rating has gone down they will focus on the upgrades people actually want

Hugh totally agree with you too, I am stuck doing jobs that I should not be doing because of a system that was not designed with sensible things like this. Xero in just over 12 hours there are already many comments on this just from my comment. You really need to get this sorted asap and also really need to understand that small businesses grow and need features like this urgently.

It has been awesome to see so much energy being put into Xero UI tweaks instead of critical features such as this request going back to 2022...

AGREE with Celia as well, we are also looking at other solutions! It should be an easy fix!

How lucky we are as small businesses to be now able to re-arrange the front Xero display screen 🙄 but we can’t stop a staff member, entrusted with say reconciling petty cash, being able to see all bank accounts, Directors dividends, all staff salary payments, saving accounts, pension contributions etc etc. 😳

Like Celia I’m close to looking for another solution.

Very very poor by Xero. Total lack of understanding of how the roles within a small business work.

This is so critical to me that I am going to have to look into another solution. You should be able to do this and the fact that you can't really surprises me.
I want to have a roll where an accounts person can raise sales invoices and bills and reconcile them to one bank account that they can see. However what I don't want is them being able to see payroll or dividends being paid for example.

Ridiculous Xero have not yet implemented this yet- my gut feeling is the back end of the software has been designed poorly. Yet again , Xero have no concept of how SMEs operate. Pathetic.

Invoice only - unable to carry out below tasks essential to my role (I was able to this on previous system), can only have access to the below if I can see the bank which the business owner does not want.

Would be helpful for basic functions to be more accessible and/or to be able to customise user permissions based on companies own set up

Run reports (eg. Suggested payments, debtors etc)
Send reminders when payments are due (not automated)
Send remits in batch payments (we make the majority of payments on BACs runs)
Advance postings on sales invoice
Delete incorrectly posted payments/receipts
Send statements in bulk as part of a month end procedure.

This should be a Priority. Businesses on XERO may start small and grow over time, and then will be looking at more segregation of duties. XERO should be supporting this growth instead of stifling it. Businesses will look elsewhere for software which can accommodate their needs.

We have just moved our sales ledger over to Xero from a stand alone system and dismayed that our credit control team cannot have singular access to the one receivable bank account without granting overall permission to view other areas of sensitive financial information and other bank accounts.

Xero - stop trying to add the bells and whistles before getting the basics fit for purpose.

So nearly 4 years on since this issue was raised (see comments from 2022) and still nothing.
Obviously this is not a priority for Xero.
Is there a time-frame to get this implemented???

How is it seen to be an initial set up that is acceptable that permissions cannot remove the empluyee to see every day banking payments in and out.

it seems a no brainer that you would not want all members of staff to see what paymetns are made for all business expenses. Staff do not stay loyal and use this to their advantage when they move to other companies, in a small industry in which we operate this freedom of wages information just alone is detrimental.

Still no progress. Reconcile the petty cash account - free to see the balances, transactions of every account in the business. Including staff pay. Director's pension payments.

I think this is really important issue, we need to be able to limit who can view bank transactions and bank balances, please look at this with great urgency!!

Posting on this again, to see if there has been any further consideration to inventory taking a higher priority than access to all bank accounts to any user with the relevant permissions and no way to manage this.
If it is going to take longer to develop, then start on it sooner! :)
