Contacts - Different default email addresses for different transactions in Xero
Ability to allocate different transactions to different email addresses.
Purpose: Because it’ll make users’ workflow easier when they’re dealing with the contacts that have different departments.

Agreed, many of our clients have separate email addresses for invoices, statements and queries. It would be extremely helpful to be able to set them up in xero rather than having to manually resend individual statements to separate address each month

I am amazed there are only 263 votes for this.
A very basic feature required by most companies with more than 1 member of staff.
Come on Xero you have got us over to your software, now start to deliver or we will move away to other software providers that do listen.

This is very essential to the smoth running of the business
ALSO when setting up the email address in "Contacts' we should be able to show the recipients' ROLE in the organization to which the email address is being sent ie
Accounts [NAME] [EMAIL ADDRESS]
Dispatch [NAME] [EMAIL ADDRESS]
etcThis will make it easer for the sender ID to whom the email is to go

We need a function to seperate the contacts when sending invoices & statements. Whether it be drop down selection OR ANYTHING! We have clients sales/marketing staff receiving invoicing, but of course do NOT need to receive the statements too!..... THIS REALLY NEEDS TO IMPLEMENTED XERO. We pay alot of money for your subscription each month, this is a standard option on many other accounting platforms.

How many votes to get this done? Xero will lose some of it's larger subscribers without this ability being implemented. Fingers crossed the team get to this sooner rather than later.

We use ApprovalMax for our site team members to raise PO's on and without this function we have issues where our site guys are sending PO's to all email addresses linked to our suppliers (doubled up PO's, confusion etc..)

It’s a real pain not having this basic ability. The suggested workaround is just as bad as not having the feature at all.

I know from forum posts that many people, including me, have been wanting this for years.

I have a number of customers that require Statements to be sent via a separate email address. This would enable the process to remain easy and not have to go through and manually divert.

Many of our customers have separate emails for Invoicing, and Statements, and Account Queries etc etc. So it would be good if we could enter these in their respective areas and Xero automated this depending on what type of email we were sending, or at the very least if a Customer had multiple contact records it would show a dropdown option to choose the correct one.

We deal with a lot of companies where the primary contact address is different to the invoicing address is different to the statement address.. and sending statements for 400+ clients with o/s balances and having to change the contact on many of them is a real chore... Xero need to get with the times of automation and time saving, or people are going to look elsewhere.

This is essential as 90% of our customers require statements to be sent to a different email address to the invoice. Having to go though and manually change this and not having these email addresses in the system is time consuming and inefficent.

The ability to have separate email addresses for our Customers for Quotes and Invoices .
A few customers have asked for Quotes to go to standard company email address but Invoices to go direct to the account departments.
With a lot of invoices and Customers its hard work remembering to change email address between the two -

We are looking at moving to Xero and need to have a different email address for ALL our invoices and statements.
If this has been an issue for 9 years (so far), how much longer are we to wait?

We do most of our work for councils, with multiple contacts that we invoice (20-30 different contacts) I know that I can add their email addresses to contacts using' include in emails' but each time I send an invoice/quote I have to unselect all emails that don't apply to that particular invoice/quote, which is very time consuming.
I then tried leaving their email addresses in the contact but deselected 'included in email' hoping that if when sending the email, when i start to type the email address required may populate, but this didn't work.
Surely there is a way around this, similar to any email program, when starting to type in the recipients email it just appears??
Hopefully this is works in progress for the Xero team?? -

Please disable the auto-generating contact group function or at the very least do a lot more testing before implementation! It's sending emails with an incorrect recipient title because it remembers it from another invoice so the same recipient from my own team is being tagged by the name of another totally different client whose invoice he was previously copied on. Really bad look here!

Xero is very cheap and therefore good value for what you get. But unfortunately that means there is almost no Support/response on any requests, even if you contact their helpdesk by phone. This particular request which is a basic expectation of an accounting program has been requested for years now but no response. The main consideration when changing to Xero - take the value for money approach and put up with the frustration around some missing basic things, or pay a bit more for better program with more support and development.

Looking at changing to xero from a competitor but this is pretty much a deal-breaker.
