Quotes - Remove PDF attachment from email
Ability to remove PDF attachment when emailing quotes from Xero.
Purpose: To make the receiver of the quote click the link instead, so users’ will know that the quotes have been opened. Because if they choose to open the PDF attachment, users’ will not know whether quotes have been opened or not.
Hi community, we recognise our customers find the option of whether to include a PDF when sending invoices today useful and thank you for you feedback on why you'd also like to see this reflected in Quotes. Our team are considering this for a future opportunity in Quotes and I want to assure you they are well aware of the idea for this here. However, we want to be upfront that we don't have any direct work planned for this right now. We will be sure to share any updates or progress when it comes, with you all here.

would be nice to get to the bottom of this finally, as others said it will be great to remove pdf attachment from quotes

only way is to send the quote link in your own email.
Easily getting the quote link is another story though! Nightmare to email yourself and copy paste into another email to the client.

We are wasting a lot of time following up on quotes due to the link not being used by the client. This also causes confusion at the client end. Please allow us the option to remove the PDF when sending quotes!!!

This needs to be resolved, it's been over 8 years since the idea was apparently proposed.
This feature as is stands makes quote emails more likely to get spam filtered, impossible to know if a client has viewed the quote or when they did and wastes xero users (our) time when we follow up unnecessarily.
Quotes and Invoices need to be consistent in their options please

We also need the PDF removed because this is causing our emails to be blocked by spam filters - the link is ideal to overcome this

What is the point of having Xero record if the quote has been seen or not when we dont know half the time because the client clicks on the PDF ?!
this is causing many issues in our small business - please add the deselect PDF button urgently !

Interesting post on Xero's own Linkedin feed entitled "Sending a PDF invoice is not good enough in 2023"!

the ability to deselect 'Attach as pdf' to quotes is a critical feature that needs to be urgently added
we need clients to be bound by the terms and conditions set out in quotes
i am suprised that it is not already available!
look forward to it to be included asap

please allow removal of pdf from email, we need the client to accept the quote through the link as this then binds them to the t&c's of quote

This is really needed for tracking the email link sent out!

The Xero Team shared this idea may 26 2015!

Seriously poor standards from Xero.

Very important.
Not knowing if customers have read / received my quote as 9/10 times they just open the PDF.
No one ever declines, they just ignore but if at least I know they have viewed.. I will know.
Xero, get your finger out. Many posts from years ago asking this.

7 months since this was raised and we are still waiting for a resolution to make this an option instead of a default? Xero you need to lift your game, you are not living up to your reputation

Very important to us as customers do not read the email and just click on the PDF. As a result we do not know if customers have received the quote correctly as customers often do not give correct email details for quotes, ie give us the email address for their accounts and not purchasing section.
we want to know that a quote has been viewed and removing the PDF will force customers to do this.

Really need to remove quote PDF attachment from the quote process, I have so many clients not knowing how to accept a quote as people simply don't read the email and just go directly to the PDF as a default resulting in me having to verbally explain the process as well as not knowing if/when they have viewed the quote, resulting in further delays in communications between my business and my clients
