Organisation settings - Dark mode

Ability to change darker backgrounds in Xero.

Purpose: White text against a Dark Background, is easier to see for the eyes.

Hi team, while the status of this idea remains unchanged from our last post we did want to provide an update in the channel here.

As shared previously there's the possibility of exploring third-party apps like Google's High Contrast, which allows you to change the colour on your screen so it's easier to read.

Our Xero Accounting app is a bit of a different kettle of fish and for iOS users there is a dark mode available from the 'Appearance' option that you can navigate to from the 3 dot menu in the top right of the app screen.

Though we fully understand and appreciate needs for wanting dark mode, the ability to develop this requires resource from across all areas of product to implement in the web version. Providing dark mode is not on our current roadmap.

If there are any further changes to share we will provide further updates to you on this thread.

    Dark Mode on Web application, allow ease on the eyes when working on Xero all day.

    Regarding Dark Mode….The IPad app version has dark mode, I would like to see it in the web version as well

    I don't want a new view screen that is ugly as ****, the evil eye always staring at me is giving me anxiety, how about instead of coming up with features people don't want you just give the people what we really want DARK MODE

    Agreed, I can barely make it through a whole day without my eyes burning and getting a headache when I'm on Xero.

    Hello Hannah

    I have two questions for you, why does Xero always say how important health is to businesses and that new ideas are important. This is what we experience with using Xero every day. Sounds like actions speak louder than words. On the topic of being complicated, really? this is just not true. In chrome it is possible without doing anything to Xero.

    For anyone coming across this using Chrome, I have done this and it seems to work well in most places, including Xero.
    Go to the URL: "chrome://flags"
    Search for and Enable "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents"
    Relaunch Chrome.
    You can bookmark the Experiments URL to disable and enable as needed.
    Works great on the Meta Business Suite and Google Admin platform too!

    Could you please consider the darker mode theme on Xero for those who have light sensitivity or migraines due to white screens etc

    I am finding it a little hard to take Xero seriously when they won't even add a simple dark mode option to their application(s). Surely "earth day" would appreciate it too? Lol, it's "Not planned", the only Admin response since 2019 on this subject. I'm switching to Zoho Books EOFY $65AUD down to $15AUD per month, plus dark mode out of the box, that's a win for us.
