Quotes - Permanently Delete Quotes
Ability to delete quotes permanently in Xero.
Purpose: To make the ‘All tab’ didn’t get mixed up with the unused quotes that were supposed to be deleted.
Appreciate the feedback and interest through the idea here. Being open this isn't something we have plans for at this stage. Current focus is on new invoicing and improving the experience for our users as we edge closer to the retirement of classic invoicing.
We'll continue to keep our eyes on all sales flow ideas in the forums here and will let you know if there's any updates to share on this idea.

It's so, so, so annoying that a quote created in error cannot be deleted from the system.
It's just a quote after all, not a bill or invoice that may have already been actioned and closed.
There absolutely needs to be a way to purge, old, unwanted, deleted quotes.
It can't be rocket science to code up.

More than a little frustrating, I was trying to do a test quote on our own data and it committed to draft and now I can't delete it. Not only that I thought oh well I will try and recover it but no you can't do that either. I smite the Xero for you have failed before I even begin using the software.

Wow, so many people calling for a simple feature that should have been implemented from the get go. Sort yourselves out Xero it’s embarrassing…

We are trying to clean up our database and permanently purge out dated, deleted and declined quotes (we call ours Estimates due to continually changing prices), but Xero doesn't have a facility for this - it is ridiculous to have the option to delete a quote/estimate nearly 4 years old that has not been accepted or invoiced, and yet it still remains in the list. In this day and age, logic dictates that if a quote/estimate has not been accepted within 30 days, the price would need to be reworked due to the ever changing prices we currently face.
In my view, after many years experience using accounting packages and with common sense prevailing, when you delete an item that is it - it is permanently gone. If you delete something, why would you want to keep it a the list - delete means delete, get rid of, never to be seen again.
Come on Xero, get it sorted - there are loads of us out there who want this to happen. -

Why even have a delete option when clearly it doesn't work!

Obviously it has been annoying a lot of customers so if Xero has any regard for them it might be an idea to do something about it.

Needs to be resolved. Critical for the operation of a few of our client business models.

Please resolve issue

Simplest way to solve this issue is make the All tab have a slider - including Deleted - on or off. Can't understand why it's taking so long to make a decision!

If they cant be permanently deleted they should move from the "all" tab in to a deleted tab to avoid confusion

Did some test quotes and now I am stuck with them in Quotes and they are not relevant.

Weird. Deleted from where, if it isn't deleted, still visible, accessible but not editable. That's called 'locked'.
Just update as per label. Delete, Remove, Erase, Wipe will all suffice. -

Hi,
Some quotes/PO consist some errors so we have to delete those quotes/PO's.
Since deleted quotes/po also shows in the "All" column in the history which creates a huge confusion. To avoid such confusions I think we need to have this filter option in "search" tab where we can select require data fields only. Such as this option is available in "Invoice" as attached herewith the snap for your reference.
If we gets the similar option available in Quotes or PO, it would be great help to avoid confusions and it will save XERO's purpose i.e. because of Audit purpose XERO didnt allow customer to permanently delete database. You can allow your customer to give the option of "Archive" in the PO/Quotes. As its logical and will not create a confusion.

We need to delete the deleted quotes also. It becomes confusing.

I agree with Ryan Pillay - good to tidy up the quote screen, otherwise it becomes messy. Other option would be to add a 'Deleted' tab and move the deleted ones there upon deletion
