User Roles: Invoice only - Inventory access for invoice only setting
There should be the ability to select inventory access for users that have invoice only access.
For example, my office manager handles all the invoicing as well as all of the stock and inventory management. Currently he cannot access inventory to add new items or change pricing without the ability of seeing all of the bank accounts. Second tier management should be able to access invoicing and stock control without seeing critical financials. I suggest that a tab be added to the settings for users to allow inventory to be accessed at the invoice only level user.
Alternatively, make bank record access, bank reconciliation and bank accounts a selectable feature in all levels of settings so they can be excluded whilst giving permission to specific other features for users. I would love to see this happen because I have an office manager who runs my business for me but as a managing director, I have to enter all the stock items myself to ensure that he does not have access to the bank account information.
This is not an incredibly valuable use of my time.
Xero, please look into this.

I second Jonathan's sentiments.
Having to manage products myself, when I pay somebody to do that job is not only a waste of my time, but it also impacts my manager's sense of ownership in her role. -

Please we need this for our organisation

Xero please explain why such a simple request that staff do not see the business' financials, but can still access products & services not yet be implemented????
We are your customers & paying your wages & yet even after so many of your loyal customers have written in asking for this to be changed you are yet to do anything!
Why??
PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!We are all so very busy & yet we have taken the time to submit our frustration in having something so very simple actioned!
This small request in providing our employees access to products & services within the Xero system to update inventory cannot be action within the employees seeing their employer's financials! This creates additional workload on employers who are paying the staff to complete such a basic task!WAKE UP XERO MANAGEMENT OR YOUR CUSTOMERS WILL GO ELSEWHERE!!!

It feels like a basic requirement to have more micro control over what users can access in the system.
I mean, we have "Invoice Only" user access, so why not this?
Hopefully this is an upcoming feature. -

Come on xero, this is basic simple stuff
Please listen to your customers for a change and implement -

Why is this being ignored? Please at least acknowledge that you are looking into it!

The above is a great suggestion but has not be actioned. I am in a similar position where the Warehouse Manager cannot access the purchases/products services without having access to the financial information of the company.
Please can this be organised

I see inventory product control seperate to finances, I really think that's a change that needs to be made. We like Xero but in doing it the way it is currently set means that my entire company can see the finances regardless of role. Ordering, warehouse, inventory management, invoicing etc...
The roles Xero offer don't really fit what the program can do. -

I absolutely need this feature. I need the staff I have employed to be able to do the job I employed them for else I may as well have not employed them!

I need this feature. As my business grows I need to add staff and delegate functions. Creation of tracked inventory items is almost a daily task for a growing business and I need this function to be available to a staff member without them seeing my P&L and bank balance.

Xero.
Are you hearing what your clients are asking for?
We are supporting you so you should be supporting us........
PLEASE after so many years of asking it is incredible you still have not created a separate user for inventory and invoice only...... -

The ability for Invoice Only Users to add new items in Inventory is critical. At the moment the only way at present for the sales ledger clerk to have the ability to add new Inventory products is to give then Standard User access which gives them the ability to see bank accounts and accounting reports which is sensitive company data and not for that level of staff.

This is so crucial, im having to give staff access to bank balances only to add products...

I've mentioned this issue to our Xero rep who mentioned she would pass this on to the technical dept (not sure if she actually did) and would recommend everyone else doing the same. Hopefully, if enough of us mention it to them, it'll get enough traction for them to make the change.

This is such an important feature - and is split across/ duplicated in at least one other "idea" .
I love so much of Xero but i don't understand why Xero will not give an update /feedback on why this is not possible for them to add as a feature/role.
To me it doesn't feel like a difficult thing to add, nor does it feel like it would be a divisive thing. So I just don't understand why Xero won't give any updates at all on this request.

support to the above statement because impossible ask operational ppl to access bank detail with the Standard / Advisors.

This is such an important update to do. We have just started using Xero this month and have only just found this problem in the program. If this feature is not changed we will need to consider changing to a new program.

This an important update, I have a client who wishes his staff who have invoice only access to inventory in more detail and not have access to financial information.

I agree with the OP.
My client has one employee employed to deal with stock and stock control, which he cannot do without giving him access to the sensitive financial information, which cannot happen -

This is an important update as it makes total sense to have different levels of access which mirror the person's role in the business. I would prefer to have a a two tier system with one user who can process invoices and receipts like an accounts user but not have oversight to more sensitive information across the entire business. Not that I don't trust people, its just information for the Managing Director not a team member to view!
