    It feels like a basic requirement to have more micro control over what users can access in the system.
    I mean, we have "Invoice Only" user access, so why not this?
    Hopefully this is an upcoming feature.

    Hi everyone

    We wanted to provide you an update on our progress for this idea as it’s very much something we want to make easier for you all. The feedback you’ve provided so far has been helpful. One of the big problems our Product team identified in this thread and in other customer research is how hard it is for customers to navigate their statement lines to gain a holistic view of the work they need to do and complete their work flows efficiently.

    I’m pleased to share that they’re in the early stages of developing a solution that will help to improve this experience by combining a search tool with an increased number of statement lines being returned to the page.

    Definitely would prefer to see as many lines in the bank rec screen as possible. I would be happy to sacrifice the space at the side of the bank rec screen if it meant that more detail could be shown per line (spread it out so the details are wider and more lines fit on page).

    Kind of like the cash coding page but with the ability to match transactions.

    I like to idea of choosing 20, 50, 100 or 1000 lines like we can with some account reports.

    If it's a receipt from one customer paying lots of invoices, you might want to look into creating a "clearing account - bank account" for that customer where you transfer the one deposit to the clearing account from the main bank account and then upload the items in the remittance as an "import statement" to the clearing account - Xero will then find and match with the customer invoices if you used them in the statement import.
    Tip for copying PDF's into Excel, copy and paste them into notepad first, then copy and paste from notepad into Excel to get it to recognise the columns.

    Yes, Daniel, this is the way that we are doing it now.
    But that requires manual clicking of each invoice up to 100 times for each batch.
    Our remittances come in csv format, so I want to be able to upload that remittance file and match it to the invoices that way.

    We thank you all for sharing in the idea here, and understand there are many permissions that our Xero customers would like to provide on a more incremental basis. As you'll all know access to bank accounts is available to users with Adviser, Standard or limited access to those with Read Only roles - You can see more of the breakdown in our article here

    With much of the teams resource drawn to work on the platform that'll continue to help us with the 'building on beautiful' experience for our customers we want to be upfront that there are no direct plans for altering the user permissions in this space just yet.

    User roles and individual permissions within a bank account will be in the limelight once much of the platform upgrades are complete, but this is some way off atm. We'll return to share when there's any…

    Hi everyone, we thoroughly appreciate all the interest and detail of where and why you'd like to attach files to employees in payroll.

    As many will be aware, the team have been making a lot of changes across Payroll to accompany local regulation & compliance such as STP phase2.

    With much of this work still on-going, we want to be open that there are no plans at present for this development. It is top of mind for the team, and will be reconsidered when resource becomes more available however we wanted to share and set expectation for the near term with you all, here.

    Hi everyone, thanks for joining and supporting this idea.

    We understand there are a few different use cases for why you'd like to attach a file to an asset within the Fixed Assets register, as well as transactions themselves.


    To be upfront our team's current focus, like many areas of Xero, is on upgrading Fixed Asset technology, as we build greater consistency between Xero experiences, making it easier to learn and navigate Xero. Some of these changes may seem minor, but are critical in terms of delivering new and exciting value later on.

    That being said, our team is researching what comes next and this is a focus because it is the most supported idea for Fixed Assets right now.


    As we continue forming the future of Fixed Assets in Xero, we'll share if there’s any updates.

    Hi community, we understand your needs in this feature and want to assure you were taking on board all your feedback. 

    As many of you accustom to this idea will know, multiple addresses requires a complex solution. It's been something we’ve been moving towards for some time and we’ve done a lot of back end work that will allow us to bring it to you in the future. 

    We have 12 different products within Xero that rely on contact data, as well as many of our app partners. This means that contacts need to seamlessly flow across technology, products and all connections on Xero. And that’s exactly what we’ve been working on. 

    One of the reasons we announced the retirement of classic invoicing is because many of the features being asked for, just can’t be brought into classic invoicing. The old technology has too many technology limitations to enable this.…
