Reporting - Edit file name when exporting

Ability to change the file name when exporting reports

When exporting reports, it defaults to Company name_Report Name.pdf. We have a format of naming files in our business which does not match the default format. It would be simpler to be able to change the default file exporting system so that it more closely fits our standards, saving time. This could be added into the company settings. Options include: Report should say: Text [placeholder] Text [placeholder], and "include or exclude underscore".
Options for placeholders include date printed, company name, report name, etc.

    This must include custom file names for Invoice PDFs, "Company Name Invoice 000.pdf" would be ideal and save everyone time.

    This would save soooo much time for us AND please stop putting underscores randomly into report names! Either make the decision to have them in ALL reports or NONE.

    Yes, for invoice file attachments this would be very helpful. Instead of 'Invoice INV-XXXX' we could customise it to have our company name in it.

    We would rely the file name to include the reference on our invoices. We can manually change it, however this is time consuming.

    I would like this too. It's a major flaw at the moment with consistency and appearance to customers.

    Users have been wanting this feature for over 3 years!
    https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D53m00005SiOQJCA3/can-i-change-the-invoice-file-name is an ongoing discussion with multiple users crying out for this!

    Currently, Xero quoting software and custom templates pretty much unusable! If we want to create a template that changes the quote to an estimate we can change all the content but as soon as the estimate gets emailed there is a great big "Quote" stamped on the filename. This is unacceptable for most businesses.

    I agree, it would help with maintaining consistent naming conventions in an accounting firm.
