AU Payroll - Specify leave approver
Ability to specify a set approver for a specific employee for when they submit leave requests.
Employees who are nominated as a leave approver should only be able to approve leave for the specific employees who have them nominated as their approver.
Alternatively, employees who have the "Authorised to Approve Leave" checkbox ticked should only be able to approve leave by employees in the same Employee Group.
Only payroll admins should be able to approve leave for all employees.

Thanks for the great discussion and all the votes on this idea. We know that without the ability to set specific leave approvers, it can be harder to keep governance clear, avoid self-approval and ensure requests go to the right person.
While we’re not planning to develop dedicated approval workflows in the near term, we want to share a tip that many have found useful. You can help streamline the process by guiding employees to select their direct manager from the approver list. While all payroll admins and leave approvers are listed, this step helps make sure requests reach the right person and keeps oversight clear.

Can we have the ability to set authorisation levels in payroll so that payroll "officers" can have authorities allocated by "employee". The intention to have payroll officers do tasks such as timesheet updating etc with restrictions to employees as allocated.

There should be an option to hide leave “approver” names that appear and only show the employee’s supervisor/leave approver, that is to approve that employees leave.
My understanding is the approver list comes from all people that have payroll admin user access.
Due to privacy reasons, it is not ideal for employees to be able to see all names that are listed. -

Have payroll access for the chair of the board to be able to approve the CEOs timesheets and leave without having access to all staff details. I am sure that the privacy act would come into play with the chair having access to all staff information.

It would be good to be able to have more control over who can approve leave requests in My Payroll. At the moment all those with 'payroll admin' access come up as an approver option,. For instance if you have a bookkeeper or accountant who has payroll admin access, they come up as an option for approver when an employee submits a leave request. It would be good to be able to hide those, or remove their ability to approve leave.
