User Permission - Ability to give both Invoice only and payroll access
I have clients whose bookkeeper does the payroll and also processes accounts payable/receivable invoices. Currently we can't have submit/draft only invoice access AND payroll access. This means that if they want to do payroll, they also get access to approval of invoices. Can we please create a user role where draft/payroll access is combined?
Thanks for the added detail here, Samantha.
@Ben and others that are supporting the idea here - would this be the same scenario for your business in this idea? If so, we have a larger idea embodying this that I'd suggest I merge your idea too.

PS. There are multiple, requests for 'pick n mix' user access options, all spread out, and the record was reset to NIL some years ago. There are/have been thousands of votes & my clients (& me) need this to be sorted out, but Xero have made it clear in the past it's not easy, and there fore not even a remote priority. Hence, I point his out to new clients nowadays, and they frequently don't choose Xero, oddly.

Don't hold your breath.
Been waiting on this since Xero was (badly) conceived. Just share everything, with everyone, ignoring GDPR etc or be prepared to drop everything you do as a business owner/manager to login & run & print reports for your staff at their bequest. ;-) -

YES! This is very important. I have a client that wants their Salon Manager to have access to payroll reports and entering bills for tracking and COGS allocation but not have access the financial reports of the company. Can we have this ASAP?

I have this problem for one of my clients and there seems to be no way around it. Its very frustrating

Yes! We are wanting to give a bookkeeper payroll and invoice/bills only option and we are unable to without her seeing bank account information...

It would be ideal to assign "Payroll Access Admin and Business and Accounting access to the same user". This will assist many businesses.

My client is also wanting this. They need a User to have Invoice only but also Payroll Admin as they are the Approver, but once Leave is approved they do not have the ability to go and look at Leave or run reports on this if just Leave Approver. My client wants them to have full payroll access and Invoicing but NOT have access to Bank accounts or Balances. Please advise if this is being looked at & if there is timeline to get this fixed. Thanks

I totally agree with this request, I have a Client yours payroll and invoicing is so closely linked it s naturally for the same employee to do both.
I have had to use a work around, which was only possible as the Client has numerous 'generic' email address so, I have given the said employee two logins, one restricted for payroll and one restricted for sales invoices but I can see there being frustration with this in the long term.

This really needs to be fixed. As a business owner I want my office staff to be able to data entry invoices but also do the entry of timesheets for me to process at end of each week. They currently have INVOICE only but I want them to have PAYROLL without having to change them to STANDARD. I dont want them having access to my bank accounts etc. An adviser should be able to pick and choose what their staff have access to. This needs to be fixed ASAP as it makes it hard to delegate jobs. I have to keep doing them all !

I see what Samantha is saying and I agree - but I think this is slightly different. My client wants the bookkeeper to not have the capability to approve invoices, but rather only submit. But they want to be able to do this without completely revoking access to create and post payruns.

I think the importance here is to be able to remove the access to the bank accounts - lots of organisation require the payroll processor the ability to post the payroll - they do not always want them to see the detail of the bank transactions and the bank balances.
