New invoicing - Edit exchange rate
It is currently not possible to change the exchange rate used in the new invoicing screen, when invoicing in a foreign currency. You have to switch back to classic invoicing to correct it to the monthly rate we have entered in settings.
Hi everyone, we appreciate the need for our customers that send invoices in foreign currency to be able to edit the exchange rate within new invoicing.
Our product team are working on this capability at present and we hope to have it with you all in the coming weeks.

any update on when this change will be in place please?

This is critical to know what the exchange rate was at the time of invoicing as this information is feeding back into our own platform. We don't want or need to know what the rate is today and what the currency gain/loss is if paid today. We have to be able to manually update rates to match with any credit notes issued.

This is very important for us. Can you please develop this functionality before retiring of classic invoicing on 19/11/24. Thanks.

This post is July, it is now Oct and the new invoicing is going to cause major issues without this functionality

We need to correct the exchange rates in the new version of invoices. Because it will affect our country's financial report and tax. We recommend that the team fix it as soon as possible before updating the invoice system to a new version.

I want to edit the exchange rate by the bank and others, and not just the Xero rate. I would like you to add this feature to the system.

We need to edit the exchange rate set by the bank and other, and not just the XE rate. I would like you to add this feature.

Please maintain the function for setting the exchange rate in new invoicing. This feature is useful for the company to issue invoices in multiple currencies and update the currency rate at the date of the transaction, as we do not use the XE rate for issuing invoices.

Please can this be added with time for us to use/test BEFORE classic invoicing is switched off. If it doesn't work properly, then we cannot invoice! That's how critical it is for us.

When using an edited exchange rate, we need to be able to see this on the new version of the invoice. This can only be viewed in the classic format. It is important that we can view it on the new version (once classic has been removed) so we can check that our client has entered the correct exchange rate (for accounting and audit checks).

We feel very disappointed that we are still unable to edit the exchange rates in the new invoicing. Can you please provide any update? Can you please add the edit function back to new invoicing? because we need to change the exchange rate from 6 decimal into 10 decimal

We feel so frustrated and very disappointed that we are still unable to edit the exchange rates in the new invoicing. Can you please provide any update? Can you please add the edit function back to new invoicing?

This is absolutely critical for us! We have to edit the exchange rate that was set by PAYPAL. Not XE! When will this feature be back? You shouldn't just remove things like this. After your never-ending price hikes you would think you be adding features!!!

AS there are so many items that need adjustment on your new invoicing including this one, I suggest Xero extend the time frame that Classic Invoicing is open to to perhaps December 2024. Hopefully that way the programmers will have time to sort out all the items that have been highlighted by users. After all its users who are important

With the new invoicing display it has taken the ability to edit the exchange rate once the invoice has been saved. When a client has received payment on invoicing the exchange rate taken is the current days one, which is not what some of us want. This puts, sometimes, large amounts in the exchange rate loss/gain account, which again is not want some of us want. There are various methods to use that are acceptable to the ATO and Xero is only giving us one method, which I believe it incorrect.
Please put the option back to edit the exchange rate on foreign currency invoices.
Thank you -

Please also add the facility to amend the exchange rate even against a partly paid invoice, as the exchange rate will vary between the time the deposit received and balance paid. Thanks

Not sure why Xero has taken away this feature, moving backwards by leaving off features in new roll outs that customers were using is not a good plan from the Product Manager. It was one editable field, fairly simple code that. Please add it back asap. Thank you.

When posting a payment for an invoice in USD $ (standard UK currency GBP) the payment asks for a FX Rate on the old invoicing you could see the FX rate - but on the new invoicing you cannot. It would be good to see the FX rate rather than having to add another step and go to xe.com to get a rate

It is essential for our export business to be able to amend the invoice exchange rate. Using XE rate provided by your system totally throws out our NZD figures. Please ensure this feature is added to your new invoicing platform before Classic Invoicing is discontinued.

And the currency doesn't appear at all on the new invoicing screen. I need to know what currency each invoice is using.
