Account Transactions report - Include project column
Would it be possible to add Project Codes as a selectable column in the Account Transactions report? We would find this most useful as it would save time.

This would save me eight hours per week. Critical.

Other than looking at every transaction posted it is impossible to find where an expense or income item has not been allocated to a project. We export from projects for other reporting and find it difficult to locate where the projects total does not match to the general ledger expenses and income.

This is a critical element and almost makes the cost of paying for the project function obsolete. Each month I spend days ensuring everything has been allocated. I must be able to add Project Name as a column to Account Transactions report. I know we can now see any bills which haven't been assigned and this is helpful. But also, when will we see the invoices which haven't been assigned. This is essential too. Please, please, please prioritise this.
Editing this to hopefully bring this back to the top of the list. It is absolutely essential to be able to see project codes in the account transaction report. Xero support - please action as a priority.

Report on nominal accounts by project:
When using Profit and Loss or Account Transaction reports, you cannot add a project column for analysis.
When using Project financials, you cannot analyse by the nominal account.
Therefore you cannot currently analyse a nominal by project. -

The new project search in the bill area of Xero is functional, however inadequate in terms of efficiently identifying transactions which are not allocated to a project from a ledger perspective, especially if your business is not 100% project driven.
This whole problem can be solved with the simple addition of a column available for selection in the transaction report to list the project field
This simple feature could be added to the transaction reporting feature relatively quickly and simply.
James Beylotte I totally agree with your suggestion of adding a column in the transaction report. As a systems accountant, given modern databases, this feature should be a relatively quick update. I'd be happy to test it for Xero

Hi Caroline. I spend a couple of days a month checking that projects codes have been assigned to Sales and Purchase invoices. If I had them two days back I could take on another client!! Also it has to be checked because if a purchase invoice hasn't been assigned then there is no guarantee that the cost would have been billed and is losing the business revenue! Let's keep our fingers crossed this is a feature that can be added then there maybe more uptake of the projects module (everyone is a winner!!). Let's keep our fingers crossed.

This would be a great feature and would save alot of time when reveiwing transactions to ensure all have been added to a project

When will be able to view project allocation in transaction reporting? (Account Transactions report, Receivable invoice detail, Payable invoice detail, etc etc). This is an extremely important analytical element for any company managing projects, and is a basic function on Sage / Quickbooks etc. Instead of spending time changing the layouts of reports, when can we see Xero evolve to include better functionality?

Nominal ledger report showing which project each line has been allocated to. I would like to be able to confirm all cost of sales have actually been allocated to a project.

Include "Project Name" in the available selection of columns for the Account Transaction Report. I use this monthly to make sure transactions associated with projects are associated with the proper account code for reporting sales tax.
