New invoicing - copy to bill

Give sales invoices the ability to create self-billing contractor bills - the same as billable expenses but for the the sales side, rather than the purchase side. I produce high vol royalties where the suppliers(producers) do not physically bill, but we need to raise the charges directly in line with the sales received. Massively labour intensive and could be fixed with this function.

Hi everyone, to give a bit more detail from our status update a few months ago - The ability to copy to a bill is a feature that the team will be building into the new invoicing experience. They have a few items on their agenda and I want to be open that this is not planned to be delivered until after the sunset of classic invoicing. 

For the time being, you'll find you can still copy to a new invoice, quote, purchase order or bill from the invoices list view. 

You can get a bit more of an understanding of what's coming from our Xero central page. When there's more news on copy to a bill I'll share this, here.

    Please update this function asap. we hope we can still use this function in new invoicing, because I go to the invoice list , need to copy one by one and the number sometimes not subsequence.

    I agree with all other comments in that being able to copy an invoice to a purchase order is significantly important to our business and if not fixed prior to switching off classic invoicing will cause lengthy delays to our billing process, and something as a business we will not be able to tolerate. Your userbase have been requesting this basic accounting function to be provided ever sine we were first aware it was not being copied over to the new invoicing system so Xero cannot say they have not had enough notice to prioritise its development. If Xero switch the classic invoicing off without providing the development or at least a workaround, we will also need to stop our subscription and find another platform. I have never heard of anything so stupid from a software company's proposed product development, you should be looking to enhance your system with new releases, not restrict basic functionality, whilst increasing subscription fees. A complete joke!

    This is becoming hugely frustrating not being able to 'Copy to Purchase Order' from Invoice. This is critical for tracking aspects of my business. The new invoicing is already very annoying with having to make more steps/clicks to do basics.

    Please could Xero confirm if this is in the pipeline? If not I will be looking to move to another platform.

    This was a feature... which has now been removed in "new" invoicing. Absolutely needs to be brought in to new invoicing again.

    Please help to add on the feature copy the bill from invoice soonest. We are really need it before retire classic invoicing, now we everyday always switching to classic invoicing, because it really helps us . Thanks

    Not a new idea an existing function on the classic invoicing that can not be done on the new invoicing system. I have previously asked this in Xero discussions.

    I really require this function and would like to know if it will become available with the new invoicing system?

    Seem strange that you can copy an invoice to a bill, but not a bill to an invoice? It does not seem like such a difficult feature to add? Might not be relevant to all users, but to some users it would be such an easy and time saving feature???

    Hi there

    This is incredibly critical to me and makes it very difficult for me to operate without this function.

    Each invoice i receive needs to be copied to a bill.

    Can you please confirm this will be available when we have no choice but to move to the new system?

    I was just informed that this basic function will not be included in new invoicing before the Classic Invoicing is sunset.

    @Xero @Kelly Munro .... when are we going to be able to copy to bill on the new invoicing without doing the long winded 'fix' via the 'copy to from list'? Need to know ASAP before I start moving to a new platform.

    Hope we can get this issue solve asap , because in 70 days the classic invoicing will be retired. it takes a lot of time to copy from the list of invoice as need to be done one by one and lots of error because of this. Thanks!

    FIX THIS - @Xero @Kelly Munro, this new invoicing is NOT new if it's missing basic features.

    Realising now how frustrating it is because every 24hrs I have to flick back to classic to complete a simple task.

    Once you force us to use your worse version, we're all going to become even more frustrated with Xero. Already am frustrated with cost vs how little you listen to exisiting users. Focusing all your energy on attracting new clients via marketing campaigns with huge start up discounts.

    This needs to be done asap - it's obviously that a lot of the changes in the new invoicing layout have been designed by software designers who have never worked in the real accounting world!!

    Really need this ability to be possible ASAP. The time about to be spent on copying the invoice to the bill, the long way, is going to be a nightmare and challenging! Please assist ASAP - thank you

    I cannot see why the copy to function has been moved to the 'invoices list view', this will only take more time and reduce the fluidity in Xero. This, along with other changes in the new Xero seem to add difficulty and extra steps, which should not be the direction of travel. Please reconsider before winding down classic invoicing.
