Project Reports | Option to custom reports

Please give us the option to also edit and custom project reports, I need to add fields, run reports by date and add calculation fields. Currently we have to export available reports and edit in excel, it would be great to do it in Xero.

Hey community - this one was released earlier last month, apologies for the delay.

You may have seen that last month, we released an update to our Project reports that delivers this idea! 

In addition to exporting to Excel, PDF and Google Sheets, you'll now have the option to save the Project Summary, Details and Financials reports as a custom report.

    We're an SME Building Contractor having formally run Sage, and require meaningful CVRs [Cost Value Reports] on a monthly basis. Those required to access the project costs for their reporting do not need access to other Accounts/Financials reporting/management info.
    However, we do not want them having to tick/un-tick boxes for each report [of which the 4 team members have to do 3 or 4 ea]...there becomes a "surely there should be a standard report" for this fatigue.

    Hi

    This would be useful for our clients. I have a client who wanted to customize the Project Details Report, which we have done for them, but only users who have Xero Reports access can access this report. Most of the team using Xero Projects therefore aren't able to access this, and therefore are having to customize the report each time they create it, which isn't idea. !!!

    We just need the ability to access the customized Xero Project Report from Xero Projects.

    Is this being implemented - Being able to save a custom report in Xero Project would save us alot of time. Currently we're having to adapt the layout every time we run a report

    Thank you for your response it is much appreciated!

    We are using Xero projects for sales commission reporting so each project is a "Deal ID" to track GP per deal. We had to find "work arounds" on the limited project reporting to meet the client requirements.

    At the moment we are using a different "Contact" when we create a project as for the Customer and Supplier invoices so we can run project financials per project contact (sales person) per month and this wasn't possible on the standard reports.

    If we are able to select/add "Invoice Contact" as a column on the Project Financials Report and Project Details Report that would help.

    If we are able to run the Project Details Report for a date range and not only at a specific date that would also help (Used the old version for this when we started the project).

    We also have "deemed GP" on certain deals. The reason for the custom request is to add the formula for deemed GP. So if we had an Edit Layout button same as on the financial reports to just add a formula that would help.

    I know many companies struggle with sales commission reporting and if Xero projects could present a solution that would be a great additional benefit for companies to use Xero projects module.

    Sure - we currently can't save a custom report that uses data from the Projects functionality in Xero. It seems odd that this is the case as all other reports within the reporting functionality of Xero can be saved as a custom report. We pay for the Project functionality within Xero and hence don't see why it's restricted in this manner. If you want more information feel free to call me.

    Allow users to save a Custom Report for the Project add-in to Xero.

    As a business we run multiple projects and it's vital that we can track their profitability. We subscribe to the Project add-in and need to simply track Project profitability on a weekly basis.
