  1. The Pay Now option is not visible on the online page of an invoice when the currency of the invoice does not match the organisation's default currency. This is especially annoying when Payment Services such as Stripe are set-up as they can easily process multiple currencies.

    Moreover, as it is not (or poorly) documented that Payment Services are not usable when using a foreign currency, it just seems to be a bug. I contacted support who responded with the following:

  2. I have around 100 billable expenses each month, I click on the 'Billable' in Expensify and that comes through to xero, but there are many that need to be entered into xero directly.
    We need a report showing unbilled expenses where we can click on the items to mark them as billable in bulk, rather than line by line, which takes up a lot of time.

  4. Restrict the "Mark as reconciled option" on payments to be "adviser" user level access only. This will reduce the instances of clients inadvertently causing bank reconciliation errors. Many dont understand the implications of clicking this.

  5. It is crazy to not be able to filter History and Notes by notes. What good does a note do me if I either have to:
    1. Go to the customer to see if there is one OR
    2. Have to read through all of the "Edited", "Credited" etc just to find the notes.

    Also make it so the notes can be filtered by customer/supplier. Notes do absolutely no good if they cannot be accessed or looked at easily.

    The attached has been filtered so the type is ONLY customer. I highlighted the items that are desired. All the rest…

  7. We would like to be able to capture non-financial (eg head count) and statistical numbers (eg Order Book) in Xero and add it into Xero reports alongside the existing financial information for management reporting
    Currently it seems that accounts that are added automatically appear in the Chart Of Accounts.
    Could another Account Type be created that allows memo accounts to be created outside the CoA?

  9. When searching for a bank institution, you all should allow for searches for the bank URL home page and also include a logo of the bank with each institution. For example, 'First Bank' has 40 different institutions and each sound similar to the next. Please consider creating better identifiers for each bank institution Xero integrates with. (QBO does this)

    Hi community, our Product team have recently made an improvement to the flow of adding a bank account in Xero. To make the task of adding a bank easier in Xero, we've enabled the option to click the information icon next to a bank and view it's URL so you can identify that you're selecting the correct bank when connecting a bank feed. 


    We appreciate this isn't the direct ask in the idea of being able to search by URL, and while we'll continue to monitor the feedback on this here we don't have direct plans for developing the ability to search URL at this time.

  11. Ability to choose a cost limit for a fixed asset when the depreciation method is set to 'Full Depreciation at Purchase'.

    For instance a car is purchased for over the cost limit, therefore only $64k or so is able to be written off immediately with the balance to sit as an undepreciable amount.

    Currently the full depreciation at purchase method writes off the whole amount, and diminishing value at 100% with a cost limit will still pro-rata the depreciation for the year and not write off the full cost limit amount.

Bank Transfers - they are great and easy - but it would be awesome if we could just improve them in the following ways - some of these suggestions incorporates other suggestions - but thinking if you are working on improving this functionality - it would be great to do it all at once.   14. Currently when paying activity statement obligations, you need to manually create a bill or split the payment to the various tax components. These amounts are already in the Activity Statement, so it would be useful to be able to create the bill from the finalised activity statement. This would help business to reconcile ATO payments, and to manage their cash flow as they can see when tax payments are due from their bills report.

  16. Bank Rules for Split allocations and less steps to overpayments.
    We have a subscription business and invoice annually, I go into each customer, search, then split, add the payment amount, then click ok, then click reconcile. (sometimes I have to unclick the invoice it tried to match ; adding another step)
    I would prefer a bank rule to search first on the customer and not the amount, improved AI. Then match the payment to the sales invoice as a split more quickly, rather than a 3 step process, to automatically make the overpayment the amount paid.

Currently after we assigned billable expenses to a customer and subsequently when we create a new invoice with the billable expenses, noted that the tracking category named Projects as well as account code are not auto-fill. We need to fill in manually which is time-consuming, imagine there are 100 items in the invoice.

    It will be very helpful and save time if the account and project code will be auto-fill in the invoice. We really appreciate your support and looking forward this can be implemented. Thank you!

  18. We need a way for Xero to know that there was a chargeback on an invoice through GoCardless so that the payment applied against the Xero invoice is removed.

    There have been instances where a customer's bank did not accept the charge made against the bank account and GoCardless charged us back for the invoice. We didn't collect the payment, but Xero still has the invoice marked as paid. When reconciling AR this month, there was a few invoices that were charged back but were still showing paid.

  20. A separate section within Xero that allows you to handle and process client money. This does not appear in the main balance sheet but operates independently. Client money is linked to the contacts but is kept separate from the business accounting. Cashbook operates in the a similar way with a bank link, but the client balance shows as a separate box. Allow payment of invoices from the client account to cover invoices. This would help small legal firms and other businesses that handle client money.
