  4. Further to Mr Howarth's request in May2022 under the title 'Reporting - Include journal ID', I would like to request one additional step to be added.

    Creating mapping against Xero transactional data is very testing as it is impossible to create a fixed unique reference for each line. To narrow things down, you would have to use JournalID but then need to concatenate with other fields to differentiate between the lines within a single journal. eg. description, dates, amounts or a combination of other fields. However, these joined fields can be edited! There is no way I can currently see…

  5. Good day, we would appreciate it if you can add a feature in the search criteria to allow you to search in any field.

    The purpose would be if you searched for an amount or description it would pick that up irrespective of how a transaction was processed. This will make find and recode or fixing incorrect items on the Account transactions easier.

    Hi Gerrit, just to check it sounds like you're referring specifically to the search in Find and recode - would this be correct? Or would you like to search by any field in the top navigation search?

  6. Would like to see Current Account codes rollover each year to an Opening Current Account Balance (same with GST codes, Tax codes, HP's, Bank loans) - like P&L items do to Retained Earnings code. And show the Opening Balance on the Trial Balance.
    Currently Xero Trial Balance shows Current Account codes (& all of the above codes) with accumulated Opening Balance & current year movement.
    However the report formatting in the advisor standard reports appears to be driven off movements in the current year (so we can't journal the closing balances from last year to an opening balance code -…

  7. General Ledger export from Xero file. Currently when you export the general ledger transactions from Xero and import into MYOB (which we use MYOB AO for our year end Financials) the transactions are the full audit history of the Xero transactions not just what shows in a general ledger report. If transactions have been edited in any way this creates multiple additional entries and reversals to sift through in MYOB. It would be great to have the option to exclude the audit history transactions and just have what shows in the general ledger report.

  8. It would be incredibly helpful to be able to update multiple notes at once. For example, if I have a list of 300 invoices and a statement has been sent, I want to see that note on each invoice, so that anyone going into that account can see the last action. So for example, I want to add the note 'Statement sent today requesting payment by 19th April' to all 300 invoices, but I want to be able to select them all and add that note once, not 300 separate times.

  9. Ability to change Fonts in reports. Each firm is unique, and have ways to express themselves. We have always used a particular font for all our correspondance.
    The XERO reports look the same for every firm. Adding the options for fonts, size, colour will allow firms to be slightly different.

  10. Hi there, it would be great if we were able to edit the due dates of invoices that were created in a now locked period, our business (and I'm sure many others) have invoices with due dates that often change.

    We do not need to change anything other than the invoice due dates so if this could be added even as an optional feature for a locked period that would be very useful.

  11. Fixed asset schedules are pretty standard and the information we need to include is pretty standard.

    The current functionality in Xero does not allow columns to be group together so we get a fixed asset schedule report with a lot of columns that is quite wide and squished up.

    This idea is to add functionality to allow columns to be added together i.e. additions and disposals, depreciation rate and method, to condense the report and allow a more polished version to be created for included within annual financial statements.

  13. We recently converted from Quickbooks Desktop and are trying to reproduce a "Sales by Customer" Report that sorts descending by gross invoice amount but groups the contacts within the contact group together. In Xero, I cannot figure out a way to accomplish this.

  14. We recently converted from Quickbooks Desktop and are trying to reproduce a "Sales by Customer" Report that is sorted by gross invoice amount. In Xero, I can click on the column header to accomplish this, but when I save the draft report or export to PDF, the sort order is not maintained. I would like the ability to change the report format to maintain the sort order after saving.

    Thanks for confirming, Paul and apologies it's taken a little time to round back to your message. We have another idea that you may like to join for filtering the report by contact group.

    With the request around bad debts - is there a particular way you are handling these in Xero atm?

    Potentially adding Payments/Credits column to the report will help with this? This way when you run the report you could then re-order by the Payments/Credits column to view those that have paid the most > least.

This is very similar to https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/46454503-reporting-ability-to-save-to-same-draft-file, except that we need this same functionality for reports that have been saved as custom reports. I'm tired of having new copies made of an income statement whenever I add an account and need to change where it is grouped. This should be a simple edit & save. While Save As is needed, it should not be the default and only option.

  16. The Account Transactions tab has very weird information presented. I need to see either the Description from the Transaction or the Expense Account account it's hitting. I see neither.

    In the Description Column of the Account Transaction Tab, you have the vendor/contact, not the Expense Description. In the Reference Column, you have the bank reference, which is fine, but it's a duplicate of the vendor info. You're leaving me with no useful information about the transaction.

  18. Many are complaining about no VAT option on mileage claims through expenses. I can see why this would be timely to implicate as the fuel element changes and is different depending on fuel type and engine size.

    But think for those that want to, we should at least have a VAT drop down. We could then create a new tax rate for each rate or even employee using expenses.

  19. Can we please have the ability to set a due date for an expense? Currently it is set as the day it is approved, but we pay all our expenses for the whole month, on the 15th of the following month. It would be good to be able to set this as default for any expenses raised.
