  1. Please can you send the name of the 'leave approver' to Finlerts LeaveCal integrated app. We get leave approval email notifications via their Xero add on and it would be really helpful to know the name of the person that approved a staff members leave application.
    There has been cases of team leaders with leave approval permissions authorising their own leave so this would help us monitor these situations.

    Hiya everyone, as you may have seen we've released a new version of the Payroll Activity Summary report for AU and UK versions of Xero payroll. While it's still not possible to select multiple individual employees to run in this report, what you can do is run the report for an Employee group.

    At this time we don't have plans for developing the ability to select and run the report for multiple employees, however we'll continue to track this here and update if there's any progress.

  3. Unscheduled payruns - the ability to not include pending leave. When processing bonuses etc, Xero automatically puts in the up coming leave even though it is not appropriate to be included in this unscheduled payrun and should be in the standard payrun. Because we pay monthly this only exacerbates the situation. To have the option to not include the leave in that payrun would help with this.

  4. Ability in payroll to reinstate terminated employees past the 30 days Xero currently allows. Many businesses have seasonal workers or students who just work holidays, being able to reinstate the employee with all their information would be much easier than having to add them as a new employee every time they are re-employed. Most other payroll systems allow reinstatement of terminated employees.

  5. For some clients we use Xero's Postponement and Eligibility letters. This has proved very useful but currently the letters cannot be customised.

    We have a client for example who pays a higher employer contribution percentage than the standard. The letters however, only show the standard percentage's despite the settings being different to the standard. We also have a client who has asked for their company logo to be added to the letters.

    After speaking with Xero Central I was informed that the letters currently cannot be customised and don't pull from the pension settings.

    If this could be looked into…

  6. Ability to import the number of days of annual leave/other leave taken per employee for the month. It is very time consuming to manually add the leave taken for each employee when completing the payroll each month.

  7. As an approver of timesheets i see there are couple of issues which can make the process water tight.

    1.Ability to see approved time sheets (siimilar to leaves). Currently once the timesheet is approved for an individual there is no way to check what has been approved

    2.Ability to run a report for all employees that have been approved or alternatively ability to allow access to certain reports to the approver.

  9. I would like to be able to select only certain employees and add LSL balances on their payslips rather than everyone in the organisation.
    My point is, when we set a new employee we started calculating their LSL from day one but we do not necessarily want them to see the balances until they reach 5 or 10 year mark working for the company.
    In this case, calculation of LSL is accurate as in 10 years times hours of employees can change btw full time/part time and so on.
    I would appreciate an option to select individual employees to display…

  10. We have hourly paid employees who get paid 12 x per year with either a 4 week or 5 week pay period. At present, Xero doesn't give this option to change a pay period within payroll calendars. There are only set pay periods.

  11. In order to monitor expenses by venue, tracking categories in Payroll - giving staff the ability to log their time worked by venue - makes total sense. However, when staff take A/L or S/L, there is no ability to use a tracking category, so all these transactions go to the default 'unassigned'. The time involved in searching what makes up this 'unassigned' amount in a payroll of 35+ employees across 9 venues is astonishingly time-consuming, yet vital to the overall expense reports. Would love to have some time and effort put into this issue please Xero.

  12. Streamlining " Multiple of Employee's Ordinary Earnings Rate" .
    I have a client who has 14 employees and 4 Ordinary Earnings Rate for each employee as their business trades 7 days a week. Each Employee is on a different Ordinary Earnings Rate. The current system on Xero requires you to create and select Multiple of employees ordinary earnings rate in the payroll settings and calculate and enter the multiplier % for each earnings rate for each employee in order for the ordinary earnings rate to be calculated and for the annual leave and carers/personal leave to be calculated.   13. Create timesheet availability to Contractors set up in Xero payroll as Non employee.
    Currently this is only available to employees.

    Require the ability to process timesheets to pay Subcontractors for hours worked on site so Super is taken into account but PAYG is not applicable.
    Currently not available to STP2 category Contractor 'Non Employees'

  15. Xero Me app no longer allows entry of allowances. Previously employees have had ability to enter their hours and any allowances attached on their templates but apparently since the change to STP2 they have stopped this ability which is crazy. Seems to be no point in using Xerome.

    Seeing we have just spent hours ensuring our clients have mapped the allowances correctly to STP2 categories not sure why this has been removed. Pls vote to have returned.

  19. REQUESTING LEAVE
    Firstly, when an employee is submitting a leave application, they are unable to adjust the number of hours they are taking when submitting this leave when the leave period is for more than one day. This is problematic for part-time employees that may work different hours on different days of their working week.

    Also, employees used to be able to see the number of hours taken but this is no longer the case - why is this?

    Hi everyone, appreciate we haven't engaged directly in this idea sooner and reading through the detail of the original post here we do want to break this down a little to provide more clarity.

    It's correct that currently it's not possible to enter a number of hours leave if the request spans more than a day. We have another idea that's gathering support around this and we'd urge those interested in this to join.

    Similarly, we have another idea based around the permission to approve or decline leave request and provide read-only access to Payroll reports that you can support, here.

    Understanding the importance around being able to see history of events in payroll, you may have noticed we've rolled out payroll history to the employee record-level and most recently you can now see a history of user activity in the Organisation, Calendars, Pay Items, Superannuation & STP Settings…

  20. Payroll Bill
    When submitting VAT Xero now allows you to create a bill that sits on the AP pending payment. Is it possible to have a bill create for Payroll taxes linked to payroll accounts and sits on AP pending payment? This will keep the debt much more visible for companies and make reconciling much cleaner.
