Bank rule - Transfer money and Bank fee as 2 lines
Almost all the payment providers are now settling the amounts with the fees deducted from the captured/sale amount. This needs to be reconciled as two lines 1) Transfer to cash control account and 2) Bank fees.
Currently there is no way to create a rule for this, hence it is a big overhead for the reconciliation, with almost a large chunk of card sale having to go through this process. Can the product team please take care of this on priority? thanks
3 votesThanks for the confirmation Prashant.
Although not a direct solution right now, you may be aware that Stripe (one of our providers) has automated capability you can set up like you've described for automated matching.
Alternatively, if your payment provider takes a set % of the total sale then with a rule you could proportionally split a transaction.
You'll see this option at step 3. of creating a bank rule.

Invoice/Bill - Ability to automatically recognise user's division/branch when they enter bill or invoice
When a business has multiple branches or divisions, it would be great for the system to recognise who (from which division or branch) is entering the Bill or Invoice or Journal, and would automatically assign the correct cost centre to the transaction based on that (with the ability to override allowed or not in the user setup). It would also be good to be able to only allow reconciliation/viewing of that branch or division bank account instead of all bank accounts.

Projects detailed report - Adjust formatting of expenses in report
The projects detailed report shows the estimated expenses on separate lines to the actual expenses incurred against that estimate. It is a manual process in excel to move the expenses around so that the report can reflect Total estimate less total spent and balance remaining. While this information is available on the projects page, it can't be pulled out as a report which is frustrating.

101 votesHi everyone, while our team considered solutions in this space with other pieces of work planned there is no current development planned for adding a notes or description field within Projects at this time.
For now, as you may be aware you can add notes to the History and notes of the individual transactions within a project, or alternatively on the Contacts record.

MTD VAT - Ability to review without connecting to HMRC
Enable users to view a MTD VAT return without requiring a connection to HMRC.
Purpose: Often people who do not have the HMRC gateway details/ability to submit the return via MTD VAT need to review it or answer queries about it before the gateway holder submits it
15 votesThanks for your inputs, everyone. While we appreciate the interest around being able to view MTD VAT without needing to connect to the HMRC, this is not something that our team are looking to change at present. Xero currently requires a connection to HMRC to draw the period of the MTD VAT.
We'll keep a close eye on the appetite for this here, but for now we wanted to highlight options.
Currently, a client could export the MTD return and send it through to their advisor for review.
Alternatively, advisors can use the Non MTD VAT return to help them with the review process - This can be run and exported regardless of MTD credentials.- The return should be a mirror image of the MTD VAT return (unless adjustments / imports have been made to the MTD version) that'll also include any late claims for the period.

489 votesHi community, some time passed since our last update in the thread here we do want to return and share - while our product teams explored possibilities for how we might represent Purchase Orders in Projects research has confirmed that there is underlying work needed to the platform Purchase Orders are built on before we can achieve any good outcomes of your needs here.
We have enthusiasm and a close eye remaining on the support for this, but want to be honest that this is not something that we’ll be able to focus our attentions on in the near future.
Once we have completed work first needed in the Purchase Orders space we can reassess how to integrate purchase Orders into Projects and will update you all of steps forward, here.
