  1. Would love for the Cash Summary report to be able to be sorted by Account Code (like the P&L can).

    Hi everyone, we're now happy to say that the enhanced Cash summary report is now released, which has the ability to sort by account code.

    To do this, you can click 'More', then tick 'Account codes' checkbox. Once this is done, you can also save the report as 'Custom' if using account code is your preferred layout, so the next time you open the report, you don't need to tick the checkbox again - see our article for more information.

  2. To have a sequential transaction number and date in the General Ledger.

    Purpose: To have a better audit trail in Xero.

    Hi community, rounding back on the idea here we have just released the new General Ledger Detail report which includes the ability to view by Date and now also add Journal ID as a column within the report. 

    Once you've got the report set up how you like, save it as Custom to return to this same layout whenever you need. 🙂

  3. Not sure if this feature is already coming but would be great to be able to use a custom date range in the Business Snapshot reporting. We have clients who run on a 4-4-5 basis so would be great to be able to produce the report for their accounting period.

    Hi all

    To use custom date ranges, and get access to more advanced features, you can upgrade to Xero Analytics Plus. 

    You can do this either by upgrading your subscription to the Ultimate plan, or by selecting it as an add-on.

  4. Adding date paid column into Receivable Invoice Summary report.

    Purpose: To make users’ easier when doing the calculation of average days paid by each customer.

    Hello community, we’re happy to let you know that you’re now able to add a date paid column in the Receivable Invoice Summary report. To see the date paid column in this report, you’ll need to tick the ‘Last Payment Date’ option under Columns.

  5. It would be really helpful to be able to amend the account codes and tracking codes etc on an invoice that has been paid (this is possible for a bill!). It's quite cumbersome to unhook the spending and re-reconcile, especially when items need amending that are quite complicated

  7. Ability to to show periods of bills that haven't been matched to a Xero project.

    Purpose: to confirm that all bills are being assigned to properly to Project.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your patience. Ability to view bills that have not been assigned to a project is now live to 100% of users.
    To access this feature;

    • Click the 3 dot drop down menu from the Bills list screen
    • Select 'Bills not assigned to projects'

    You'll be taken to a page where you c an select the date range for viewing bills that have not been assigned to a project in your organisation, where you can then edit and assign each bill.
    Alternatively, go to Projects and select Add > Expenses from bill to get to the same screen.On a separate note - taking on your recent feedback I do want to confirm that this feature is limited to Bills at present and does not extend to Sales invoices.

    New invoicing has had a bit of improvement and along with separate Item and description fields, you'll see there's an option to show or hide which fields of your invoice lines are shown. 😊

    Hi everyone, appreciate this idea has come from the prior Feature requests forum and to explain what is currently available -  You can export a .CSV with all employee detail before finalisation.


    From the STP Finalisation screen, select the check box at the top of the list for all employees - at the bottom of the page you'll see an Export .CSV option become visible, so you can view all the payment information before it's sent across to the ATO.   

  11. Ability to include customer credit limit and due dates of invoices in Aged Receivable report.

    💡You'll see a common format in the left side bar or  can customise the general report to include Credit Limit and Available Credit as columns within your own layout - More detail on the report here

When you change report settings on the Account Transactions (NEW) report to "Group By Account Code", you don't get the option to "Show Open and Closing Balances" or a "Running Balance" unlike the default option of "Group By Account". We use Account Codes more than Account for locating transactions and having the running balance and open / closing balances would make the report more useable.

  13. Ability to show all tracking categories in separate columns in the P&L report.

    Purpose: To get a better income figure when comparing different areas/divisions in Xero.

    Hi team, thanks again for all your feedback on the design and how you use tracking in your Profit & Loss.

    As mentioned in my last post - we've just  released a change to add the option to 'Compare tracking categories' from the main view in report settings, so you no longer have to jump into the layout editor. It's in the process of being rolled out to everyone, so if you don't quite have it yet it'll be with you in the next day or two. 😁

    Once you've got the report set up as you like, if this is a view you'd like to use on the regular save as custom, and you could make this the default if you like, too!

  14. I would like to suggest a desktop version of the Projects Timer app. Either Chrome or MacOS would be my personal preference. The mobile app is great but when you work online it's annoying to frequently log in to your phone which is a potential distraction if anything.

    Sorry we've not rounded back here sooner! A little earlier this year our Projects team released an update that allows Projects users to create time entries and record time on your computer, through the Web version of Xero - See more on Xero Central

    So rounding out the experience you can now record time from your desktop, or your mobile device 😊


    Appreciate, recent commentary on ways you'd like the desktop timer to be further optimized for your workflow. If there's something more you'd like to see in this please do start a new idea and we can begin tracking the support for that too.

    I have started to use the 'new invoicing' that's just been released and can't say that I'm particularly impressed. Some of the simplicity of the old invoicing has disappeared. Please can you reinstate the visibility of the following:
    Part Number/SKU number
    Discount Given
    Account
    Tax Rate

    Without these being on the one page, it's very easy to make mistakes and not notice them.

    Also, when entering plain text into the description I.E. a description of what the invoice contains, if I accidentally click in quantity or tab to it, it gets auto filled with avalue of 1 which can't…

    Hi everyone, in Oct last year we released an improvement to new invoicing where you can now show or hide fields of your invoice in the creation screen.

    Checking in on the billable expense flow - we intend to develop how billable expenses data appears in new invoicing but it's not in the roadmap just atm.


    We've also made a recent update to new invoicing to separate the Approve, Print and Send options, as well as provide more Approve options to the drop-down.

  16. Adding a "Resend authorisation code" link on the approval page for a batch.

  17. Bulk Reconcile transactions in the account transactions view

    At the moment is very time-consuming to manually reconcile tons of transactions in the account transaction view. It would be very very very helpful to be able to tick the transactions we'd like to reconcile and be able to bulk reconcile them. At the moment we have to enter into each transaction and reconcile it. It's not scalable.

  18. I like the layout of the new invoicing structure, though the only thing it's missing is the 'add last items' feature that was in the classic invoicing layout.
    Could this feature perhaps be added?

  19. Hello,

    Currently the report is sorted alphabetically by Contact name. It would be good to be able to sort the contacts by the column headers (e.g. by the month or the total).

    That would help users to isolate rank their expenses and target where they should focus their effort to optimise costs.

    Hey community, 👋 thanks for all your support on this idea, and apologies for the late update here but I'm switching this idea across to delivered!

    Our Customer Invoice Activity report can now be filtered to include only certain transactions types 🎉 To show just the invoices and payments, you can filter the Source by Receivable Invoices and Receivable Payments.
