  1. Bank Reconciliation - Having a Reconciled By column.
    It would be very helpful to have a column in the bank account transactions screen that shows who reconciled the transaction. I have a client who thinks they are helping by reconciling their own transactions only to get most of them wrong. If there was a column showing the reconciler then I would very quickly be able to ascertain the transactions i need to review by running a history and notes report for that period.

  3. When running the GST Transactions Report, each and every line from each invoice is reported separately, creating a ridiculously large report.
    Perhaps there could be one single line per invoice, reporting the total GST for that invoice? Like it used to be?

  4. I think the time has come to invest in AI, as a accounting software leader (Xero). Many people invest their money in AI software, like accountants, to do better / more accurate and faster budgets, forecasting (cash/accrual) mixed with different scenario's, transaction reconciliations and presentations of data/information and graphs. This usually in excel; outside the accounting software, where mistakes are likely to happen. I am not in IT, or software development/integrations, so I do not have an idea what this type of investment would cost, but my gut feeling is it would be worth it.

    Like your forward thinking, Johan. 

    As Freya mentioned there is some AI going on in Xero already with the way Xero makes suggestions to help you reconcile your bank account.

    Later this year you'll see Just ask Xero (JAX) be introduced and I'll round back to share once this is available. 

  5. When assigning a bill line to a project, it would be good to also be able to select the Estimated Expense category from this same screen rather than having to manually add from within the Project. Or at least be able to bulk assign from the Projects screen.

  6. UK Payroll - when an unscheduled pay run has been posted for a period it stops any updates to salaries even when a full payroll hasn't been posted. It makes sense that a full run would stop updates but only people included in an unscheduled pay run should be barred from having updates applied. For instance, with an unscheduled run posted I can't adjust starting dates or salaries for staff, and these may have changed after the unscheduled run was posted.

  7. Is it be possible to add a section to 'find and recode' where you change status from approved back to draft? It would really help if hubdoc imports a number of documents incorrectly - tthen the fix can be done on bulk transactions

  9. GST Audit Report Page number selection to also appear at the top of the screen as well as the bottom of the screen. This would be beneficial to the user so they do not have to scroll down to the bottom of the screen to select what page they wish to review/go to. saving time for the end-user.

  10. When I save/submit for approval an invoice Xero always takes me back to the Sales Invoice "Drafts" tab - it would be great if the default was to take me back to the same tab

  12. Receipts sent to bills do not require due dates, having to have them as a compulsory item wastes a lot of time. Can you make this an Option?

    Constantly having to fake a due dates and re-approve is not needed for 60% of bills.

  13. In Accounting and Bank accounts, i would love to be able to drop and drag bank accounts to put them in order, Currently you have to click each account to move it to where you need it. This is fine if you only have 10 or under bank accounts but if you get to over 100 plus it's a very slow process

  15. There seems to be a trend to hide the button that is used to post a discussion or submit a product idea amongst others. It appears that you click on a link that you think should take to the "submit new product idea" page, and when you get there and enter in your idea, you realise it was a search box that is searching for existing ideas. Fair enough, force me to search first, patronising but I guess it reduces Xero's workload (not mine though). But where is the button to submit the product idea? And how do I get…

    Appreciate the feedback, Martin. As you noted you do need to search ideas first and to create one you'll need to enter a forum and search where you'll then get an option to Post a new idea if lone of the results doesn't match what you're after.

    Understand how this could be simpler and while we don't have any immediate plans on this, we;ll update you here if any are made.

  17. When using find and recode it would be helpful to show the grand total of the line total column at the bottom. This way you know if the isolated transactions in your Excel worksheet matches with all the conditional filtered transactions in find and recode.

  18. In the custom reports menu, if you are no longer using a report but may need it again, the only option is to leave it there or delete. There is no option to archive the report. It would be good to have this option in case you need to refer to the report later.

  19. The 3 Project categories at present are Draft/In Progress/Closed. I would like another category called "Invoiced" so I could see which projects have been invoiced and are waiting for payment before we close them.
