  1. The format of the 2023 IR 3 return does not appear to allow for a nil amount of FIF income. When nil is entered (which will be the case when the CV method produces loss), an error arises. The disclosure of FIF income (even if nil) may be important for statute barring purposes and will also avoid subsequent queries from IR (once exchange on information between countries lands on IR desks) on why a taxpayer may not disclosed offshore dividend income (where those dividends arose from FIF investments). The suggested fix of amending or notifying through MyIR seems to defeat…

Hi community, though we appreciate your feedback here there are limitations on what combinations of data can be submitted via gateway services and these are set by IR and Xero tax must conform to these rules.

We'd recommend contacting your IR account manager on the best way to file this return data.

  2. For deceased individual clients, the period end date for their final tax return needs to be changed to their date of death. The tax return should not still be reporting the entire financial year.

There is a cell where we are able to input client date of death.

Recommending for product team to code this update so the period end date of these individual tax returns are also updated to reflect the Date of death.

Hi everyone, while we appreciate you raising the idea for this here, we want to be upfront that this is not something we're looking to develop.

For electronic lodgment, the ATO's requirements to report the whole year with data of death as an extra field. There are validations and calculations that use this date. This is different to paper lodgment.

As this is the case, we will not make the end date editable.

  3. It would be great if the FuseDocs API included the ability to pull through custom field data, so that we can use this to drive custom compilations in FuseDocs (i.e. Engagement Letter).

Hi Sally, is this something you've approached FuseDocs about? Many of our connected app partners designed and developed their integrations with Xero themselves and they're best placed to help with any questions you have on extending their integrations with Xero. You can reach their support through one of the options listed on their reviews page

Hi Wendy, from what you've described our Support team may be best placed to help you here, instead of a product idea. I checked your support cases and it doesn't look like you've raised a case about this yet.

Please could you contact support and include some more details and screenshots, they'll be happy to check it out. There's info on how to do this here: Get help from Xero support.

I'll close this idea off for now, and if support can't resolve the problem you can create a new idea, please be sure to include as much detail as possible to describe the idea.

  5. Would like the ability to be able to view all clients on screen in Xero HQ for the purposes of merging duplicates as being able to click the 'Show more clients' means it's difficult to navigate where there is a trading name and legal name in different parts of the list.

    Hi community,

Our product team recently made significant improvements to the client list! 🥳

You can now choose how many clients to show per page, making it easier to see many more clients. You can now also sort your client list using many more columns. Previously the only column you could sort by is client name but now you can hover over all the columns (organisation name, email address, phone number, business number, subscription type, industry classification, connected banks, financial year, Bank feed deprecation) on the client list and sort.

Finally, you can also merge or add clients to groups from the list page.

The product team don't have any plans to enable the ability to view all clients on one screen which is why we're shifting this to 'not planned' but we believe that these combined changes will provide a better navigation experience.

  6. I want to see in Hubdoc which receipts have been reconciled in Xero.
Currently there is no way to know which receipts are reconciled with charges from credit card and which are not, except that I re-publish and get an error of not being able to re-publish because the transactions have been reconciled. For credit card reconciliation, NOT all purchases from vendor will be charged immediately

Hi team, thanks for raising your ide with us here. While we appreciate the rationale for wanting the ability to view when a document has been reconciled within Xero, in Hubdoc we want to be open that this isn't something that we have plans for developing into the Hubdoc product any time in the foreseeable future.

  7. For the NZ tax returns can you add the Appointers to the Import function a bit like the beneficiaries, this is required to be reported to the IRD each year going forward.

Thank you for your engagement with this idea, we know that some of you are interested in the ability to add appointers to the IR6 return. ATM power of appointment can’t be filed electronically, this is a restriction imposed by IRD. The information can be recorded in contacts if appropriate but it can't be used in the tax module unless IRD change their rules.

  8. Being able to adjust quantities in the main quote / information tab, rather than having to go into each cost in a new window to change the quantities.

Hi everyone, I understand this idea is about WorkflowMax.

Xero is retiring its WorkflowMax product on 26 June 2024 and has entered into an agreement with tech-led business advisory firm, BlueRock, who are acquiring the brand. As part of this, they have commenced plans to offer a new product. BlueRock’s intent is that their new WorkflowMax product, WorkflowMax by BlueRock will be available to customers in early 2024. To reflect these changes we're moving this idea to 'not planned'.

You can read more about this on the blog.

Thanks for the idea and support here, all. We appreciate the valuable feedback on this idea. While we understand that the ability to easily add employees to the + menu would be beneficial to your workflows, we don't have direct plans for making this change within the create new menu in the foreseeable future.

We appreciate this is not the news you’d like around this but we do want to be upfront with you here to help you make the best decisions as needed for your businesses.

  10. Currently the only way to view form fields for Xero Blue invoicing and email templates is in the editor, without an in-depth explanation as to what field actually does. More detail into which field does what would be appreciated, as some are a bit confusing just based off the name.

Thanks for sharing in the community here, Evangeline. Although not in the template itself, as Ethan shared earlier our Xero Central article outlines and provides description of the merge fields that are available and what these relate to.

Being open, we don't have intentions of surfacing this directly inside Xero, however we have integrated our content from Xero Central with the help menu in the product and you should be able to look up and find this sort of detail from relevant pages in the product (such as Invoice Settings). Depending what you type, Xero maybe also able to generate an answer for you to save you even having to click through to the content 😊
