  1. We use Fusesign as our e-sign solution and it would be great to have the option to send a document directly into the signing software. We've seen a much higher engagement level with Fusesign than any other e-sign product as it doesn't require another login, it uses SMS/email verification instead.

    A direct link would smooth out the workflow from the tax product > signing (and maybe even into client files in FYIDocs).

    Hi Matthew, it appears that FuseSign is already an integrated app Partner with Xero. As they've designed and built their integration with Xero themselves they'd it'd be best to approach their support to see if this is something they'd consider extending their integration for.

  2. Revert to standard invoicing until the problems are sorted out. Each entry has a 5 second delay before it is entered. Even this message is doing this. It is currently almost impossible to work with as a bookkeeper. It jumps aaround all over the screen and with the delays one then has to go back and find the field. It is not my computer. Other screens are not a problem. I read somewhere there are going to be changes to payroll. Please test the changes before this happens with this also.

    Hi Pauline, I'm sorry to hear the slowness you're experiencing. I want to be transparent that we will not be bringing back classic invoicing. However, I'd highly recommend raising a case with our team of specialists at Xero Support who can investigate what may be causing this for you.

    As you've also mentioned experiencing slowness when engaging on product ideas here, while you wait for supports response I'd recommend starting with the troubleshooting steps in our article here.

  4. I have come across an issue where a client who is GST registered wanted their refund transferred to Provisional Tax. The only 2 options in Xero are GST 101 (GST only) and GST 103 (GST and Provisional Tax). I chose the GST 103 option and the Estimate option under that.
    The return was rejected by the IRD as a GST 103 return is for the Ration option only. I was told the return/option I needed to file is a GST 101A.
    This is not available in Xero
    I have never had the IRD reject this before so I am not…

  5. I am not happy with the latest increase. I don’t see why I should now start paying for payroll when I don’t use it.
    The fiasco with the new invoice system is ridiculous. So many basic things are so wrong such as the layout. Just where do you get your developers from?

    We appreciate your feedback, Julia. Our new streamlined plans are designed to provide easier access to the tools to help run your business efficiently. That means more key features included, with fewer add-ons to navigate. We consider many factors when rolling out changes like this and that includes understanding the nuances of a particular market and customer needs.

    If there is something particular with other features across Xero that'd help improve your experience I'd recommend voting on the individual product ideas. Our product teams are regularly reviewing and make changes based on our community's feedback here.

  6. I am finding the inconsistent implementation of the new Xero style mixed in with the old incredibly frustrating. The new style screens are slow to load & enter data, the tabbing and typing a few letters then hitting return either doesn't work (add payment) or is inconsistent between screens, entering a new customer on the fly is frustrating because you can't enter all the information at once & still have to open the full contact edit screen to complete it, also the new contact pop up doesn't autopopulate addresses as you type, the send remittance button disappears if you get…

    Hi everyone, sorry we've not responded here sooner. As we upgrade technology we are mindful of the impact this can have for our customers. We understand changing features and learning new flows and the ways of performing some actions can be a big transition for customers.

    In particular, as mentioned in your feedback here with new invoicing. To support as much as possible during this time, we're providing lots of information through means of blogs, education and guides on Xero Central.

    We're also continuing to iterate and develop new features into new invoicing that we know our customers want.

    An example of this are recent improvements we made to the 'Contact' field adding the ability to look up your contact address, edit or add the Attention field, and adding more address lines.

  7. Not a new idea however something that we should be aware of.
    The late claims button / tab on the new GST return will not show to look into transactions if the Net amount of the total late claims is Nil. This means that if a change is made from April date to March date in July period, when you look at the late claims in the June July return because the amount is netted as Nil they dont show. making it very hard to reconcile your End of Year GST back on workpapers.

  9. At the moment, we can only add one IR833 per client when doing tax returns. It would be great to have the ability to add more IR833 forms, as otherwise, if the client sells more than one property, we need to file the forms directly through the IRD, which can be time-consuming.

    Hi everyone, while we appreciate hearing how we could make processes more efficient for our customers using Xero, this is not an idea we would be able to take action on.

    Inland Revenue do not currently allow correspondence to be sent with a tax return via the Gateway services. This may be feedback that you could share with your IR Account Manager. Thanks

  11. I feel like a dedicated feedback board would be useful. As I don't feel there is currently an appropriate place to give feedback and notify support of things that are not working properly.
    For example, I have the new GST returns to trial and there was an actual feedback box in Xero. Where i gave the feedback that i liked the new features but not the look. Now the feedback box is gone and I have just noticed that it tells you that there are unreconciled lines to code. But, they are for the next GST period. Plus the old…

  13. When completing a tax return in XPM, have the audit check feature check the IRD number for hyphens so it's in the correct format. If the number is entered with spaces instead of a hyphens, the audit check lets it pass, and throws an error when submitting.

    Hi Franjo, currently an IRD Number validity check is done in Xero Practice Manager tax. Being open we don't have any plans of changing the check that is in place, however we do find most issues are caused when a IRD number is copy and pasted in to Xero and includes lead or trailing spaces which can throw an error.

    We'd recommend typing this in to avoid issues.

    Hi Wendy, from what you've described our Support team may be best placed to help you here, instead of a product idea. I checked your support cases and it doesn't look like you've raised a case about this yet.

  16. Personal tax returns. At present the systems calculates student loan repayments in line with the taxpayers income. It does not consider the amount of the loan outstanding. This will clearly give an incorrect return for the year in which the loan is repiad.

    Suggestion: Pending a SLC link to establish the oustanding balance, could the dev team implement a 'limit student loan payments to' box for users (like me) to apply a manual override.

    Hi Stuart

    Thank you for creating this idea. Unfortunately providing the ability to override this amount will not create the ability to prevent overpayment. If the client is tagged as having student loan repayments due, HMRC will calculate the amount they believe is due based on the income in the return. If the manually edited figure did not meet HMRC expectations within £1, HMRC would reject the tax return. HMRC do not provide an ability anywhere in the filing package to indicate that the client is in their last years of payment.

  17. Would like the ability to be able to view all clients on screen in Xero HQ for the purposes of merging duplicates as being able to click the 'Show more clients' means it's difficult to navigate where there is a trading name and legal name in different parts of the list.

    Hi community,

    Our product team recently made significant improvements to the client list! 🥳

    You can now choose how many clients to show per page, making it easier to see many more clients. You can now also sort your client list using many more columns. Previously the only column you could sort by is client name but now you can hover over all the columns (organisation name, email address, phone number, business number, subscription type, industry classification, connected banks, financial year, Bank feed deprecation) on the client list and sort. 

    Finally, you can also merge or add clients to groups from the list page. 

    The product team don't have any plans to enable the ability to view all clients on one screen which is why we're shifting this to 'not planned' but we believe that these combined changes will provide a better navigation experience.

  18. Need the ability to edit staff names in practice manager as we were able to in the past. The new staff screens do not allow this. It is not reasonable to lose the history of that person if we just need to update or fix a name.

    Hey community, popping in with a quick update to this idea.

    Earlier this year we made a change to staff names, so they’re no longer controlled by the Practice Admin.

    Instead, the Staff name you’ll see in XPM is tied to the User Name, giving the staff member control over how they appear.

    We’ve also made a change to the way deleted staff will appear in Practice Manager. They’ll now display a ‘Deactivated’ tag after their name.

    From reading the comments, it’s common practice to add a prefix to a staff name (such as ‘ZZ’) to identify them as leavers - this update removes the need for this workaround!

  19. Auto generate a new draft tax return for all clients that had a prior year tax return, otherwise we have to go through a list of clients and manually create the tax returns....
    Also we can't export the XT personal tax return lists, there is no export or print option. All we can do is filter on screen, would be good to be able to export for tracking purposes...

    Hi Bonnie, thanks for sharing your ideas and thoughts with us. I can see how this would save you time. However, after engaging with our product team I can confirm that we don’t currently have any plans to develop a feature that auto generates a new draft tax return when one exists for a prior year. Similarly for exporting or printing the XT personal tax return lists, there are no plans to work on this. I appreciate this isn’t the news that you wanted, but hope that this update brings you some clarity.

  20. Please could we have the ability to add a payment date to WISE payments. Currently our client wants the remittance advice sending with the payment date and therefore we have to remove and redo the payments to create the WISE reference. If we could chose a payment date this would cut out the duplication.

    Hey Lorraine, appreciate you taking the time to share this idea.

    As you might have already seen, we’ve removed the option to add Pay with Wise to your Xero subscription for new sign ups, and we’ve made the decision to completely remove the feature from 26th February 2024.

    As such, we’re also closing out any ideas related to feature improvements for Xero Pay with Wise.
