Hubdoc - Document Merge
Ability to merge documents in Hubdoc.
Purpose: To easily combine separated pages of a document into one.
Thanks for your input here, everyone. Our team is currently looking into adding a document merge feature into their roadmap. However, no dates are planned for when this will be implemented.
That said, we’ll move the status of the idea into ‘Under review’, so please continue to add your vote and give us your comment on how this feature can improve your workflow.
For now, you can merge your documents outside Hubdoc, then upload/email it into Hubdoc. Feel free to also share some options here on how you merge the documents before you put it into Hubdoc.

This feature is available in other OCRs (eg Dext) and shouldn't be a hard thing to implement if other systems are already doing it. Merging documents before import to Hubdoc adds a few extra steps, which adds time. And a lot of people don't have pdf merge software.
Ideal Scenario - receive email and forward (or have rules that forward) the email to Hubdoc. With Hubdoc set to load the email body as a document means that 2 documents are now in Hubdoc. Select the attachment and document and merge. Done! Even better if the merge can be done by default. The resulting file should also be a pdf, not an image file.
Current Scenario - receive email. Print attachment to PDF. Print email body to PDF. Use pdf software to merge the 2 pdf files. Save the pdf somewhere. Upload document to Hubdoc.
There are other types of merges too - eg when there are work reports or other documentation that comes with the invoice email but are sent as separate document/s.

How long does an idea stay "under review" before it is actually done?
The newest product updates shows that we can now upload multiple photos on Hubdoc. But it is still multiple photos individually uploaded to separate invoices.
That feature is not really as helpful as a multiple-pages combined to one upload that we all need.
Many invoices run over more than 1 page. To use another app to first save two pages as one document and then only adding to Hubdoc is a time waster. -

This is a very useful feature as we have lots of clients that have multiple page invoices which means that we need to scan them using scanning software then upload them to Hubdoc which is time consuming.

It looks like this feature has been requested for well over a year here, and even further back in the other Xero/hubdoc community boards. This is a critical function, and is affecting many of your clients. I get suppliers who send multiple invoices in one PDF, but if one is 2 pages there is no way to combine them and I'm forced to delete half of my supplier information to reconcile. PLEASE, this is becoming ludicrous that this function has been ignored for long. I'm sure Xero support is getting tired of continuous requests regarding this.

Is it possible to combine separate receipts uploaded to Hubdoc into one entry but show two receipts?
I often have a receipt from the card terminal showing the card I used and a separate receipt showing the items purchased and the VAT breakdown. I don't always upload them at the same time. Having the facility to combine the two entries into one would be super helpful.

Dext offers this feature which is a super time saver - a huge disadvantage that Hubdoc does not offer this capablility.

I know how to scan as a pdf and upload a multi page document; but not all the other users who work in our account do. So I end up with all the issues that everyone is pointing to: the only option for me at the moment is leave two divorced images in hubdoc; or do I download them, convert to pdf, merge the pdf, reupload, delete the old images in hubdoc.....

Seems like Hubdoc has lost more than it’s gained since it was acquired. I’d be surprised to see any notable improvements. Feel they bought it for the tech to add directly to Xero.

I am honestly shocked that this feature is taking so long, it should be at the basic level. I asked about this in 2020 on a post and still no real progress.

Most of my Invoices are 2 pages or more, eg IKEA receipts the BT phone bills can be up to 4 pages. Keep up the good work. I am confident you will sort this out soon.

This feature is considered basic in data/invoice processing software. To be able to seriously compete with the likes of Dext this needs to be added ASAP.

I plan to move from DEXT and the ability to merge documents is super important to us - it makes things much more efficient.
