  1. In any particular Xero account, you can review the history notes (essentially an audit log), however we do not seem to have the ability to audit a particular staff member's activity across all clients.

    This would be useful if you have a particular firm employee making the same mistake across multiple reconciliations. You could see their access/activity log to know which clients you needed to review. Or if you simply needed to know every client the employee has touched in a certain timeframe.

  2. In the last financial year, we made multiple and significant layout changes to the accounting schedules in our financial notes.
    Therefore, we intend to 'Copy and Edit' most of our financial reports. However, we have found that when you 'edit layout' it removes the date field codes in our numbered notes regardless of if you edit the number notes or not - therefore losing it's auto updating feature.
    As a result, we are now having to manually update the year in all of our financials, or start from scratch.
    Please make it so edit layout does not remove date fields…

  3. I’d like to suggest adding an automated feature for populating dates in the Company Minutes, using the reporting date as a reference. This would eliminate the need to manually update dates throughout the document, saving time and reducing errors.

  4. Xero HQ report templates overwrite the order of accounts to alphabetical when accessed at a client. The report templates are in the correct part of the financial statement for the client, but then it defaults to alphabetical order. This requires you to change the order for each client, even though it was done at the HQ level.

  5. Please add a column in Xero HQ, not unlike "unreconciled items" that notes the STP status of connected Xero organisations. Options to flag in this column are "STP 2 not setup", "[Year] Finalisation outstanding".

  7. If you update the report code mapping on a report template and save it as a draft, the changes won't reflect on the draft template in the client’s organisation.

    You either need to remove the report from your template and add it again, or run a fresh template in the client organisation.

    Above the answer for my problem - such an obvious issue, surely Xero, you can sort this out without waiting for folks to vote on it !!

  8. We are trying to move all client records to Xero away from a different software provider but we need custom fields that we have built in Xero Practice Manager to be synced with Xero HQ please. This way we will be able to filter our clients using the custom fields that we have created which will then match what we can do in the software that we are trying to move away from.

  9. AML Name List screening:

    As it is a known fact that accountants and bookkeepers must screen or conduct name list screening for individual owner that control >25% share of the company. I my former software Nomisma and Capium, accountant can conduct name list screening within the system without the need for additional subscription.
    Once the name list screening is conducted, the result is saved under the individual.
    I believe if this implemented in Xero it will make Xero one-stop-shop without the need for using other software.

  12. In the list of client files, an indicator or percentage to show the portion of bank transactions allocated by bank rules to identify client files which can be optimised and more efficient by automation and bank rules.

    If client files can then be sort by the indicator to then extract a list for action.

    In xero files, for each transaction recorded by a rule could there be an indicator (ie "rule applied") to differentiate transactions manually recorded and recorded via a bank rule.

When preparing the client's financial statements it would be useful if we could upload the accounting partner's signature (e.g. as a JPEG or TIF) into the compilation report before the financials are published. We have to edit the signing section each year to update the date so it would be good & more efficient if we could upload the signature at the same time.

    It would then carry forward when the draft financials of the following year are prepared.

    At the moment, we have to PDF the financials and then edit them to insert the signature. This is done every…

  15. When requesting a transfer of the subscription, display a list of current users so that one can be "ticked" / selected as the receipient. As generally these are the clients anyway.
    This would ensure correct details, as the user name and email address is already in Xero.

    Looks like your idea my have been cut off here, Oliver - Is there any more detail you'd like to share with this? While the Income by Contact report will show totals, you can easily click on an amount which will drill down to the contact activity for that period.


  17. Xero apps - In Xero HQ we use to have the apps under the explorer tab, to see the most popular apps and what clients are using them. It was highly useful to advise clients when an app was to cease or we were introducing an alternative to see who was using it.

    Appreciate the interest and hearing the use you have in seeing integrated apps your clients have connected.

    As some will have received communication of some time back - we made the hard decision to retire Explorer in Xero HQ from 12 April, 2023.

    Right now, if you'd like to see the apps a client has connected you can open the Xero organisation, go to settings and select Connected apps.

    While this is something we may consider developing elsewhere in Xero HQ down the road, it isn't in the teams plans right now. We'll continue to track interest here, and let you know if there is any change surrounding this to share. Thanks

  19. We need a transaction list for all contact where the unapplied payment amount reflects. It is very difficult to compare our Xero statement with transaction list from a supplier (or debtor for that matter) if you have to export the Xero report on the contact to be able to add up all applied payments and then only be able to compare statements.
    The Contact summary Report should have the option of seeing the report with applied payments or show the payment amount as it came (or was paid out) to suppliers / customers.

    Hi Elmie, just trying to understand your idea here a little better - when you mention 'unapplied payment amount' would this be an amount that's been paid by your customer but hasn't yet been applied to the invoice, or the outstanding amount of an invoice once payment has been applied ?

  20. It would be extremely helpful if there was an option to set multiple lock dates for various clients at once, so that we don't have to go into each client separately each month. It would also be helpful to have this option on Xero HQ with a view to their current locked period as well.
