  1. My Xero - Managing staff access to clients

    I suppose we have a large-ish accountancy - in My Xero I get a full list of all clients I get access to; that's 25 pages of clients at 50 clients per page. I see all clients irrespective of whether the subscriber is internal (within our accountancy) or external (the client).

    We need to add a new admin staff member and give them “Manage users” + “Payroll admin” to all entities. In My Xero, I drill down into the Staff list, click on the new user and it says I have access…

Update New Zealand trust financial reporting templates to comply with the Tax Administration (Financial Statement - Domestic Trusts) Order 2022 as set out in Inland Revenue's Operational Statement OS 22/02, including removing reference to repealed Trustees Act 1956 and replacing with Trusts Act 2019.

  3. The ability to post be posted from Xero to XPM based on the invoice line rather than per invoice.
    We have a monthly fee that goes out to clients from Xero that has two invoice lines, one being the consulting fee and the second being a software subscription fee. We would love the consulting fee line to post to the "Ad Hoc" job and then have the subscription line go to a new job called "software recovery".

  4. Add restriction on changing bank account details for client (in XPM and tax return).
    Given Optus and related fraud - > not all staff should have the ability to update bank account details on a client.
    There should be the ability to restrict this so procedures - eg phone calls to verify etc - can be put in place.

  5. Custom task rate - although the charge out rate can be amended for individual tasks for a member of staff, there is no "from" date that can be specified so it is applied to all un-invoiced WIP. It would therefore be very useful to be able to have the ability to put in a date from when the new rate should be applied.

  6. The Pre-fill has capital losses noted in it, so it would be great if the pre-fill amount was reflected rather than relying on roll forward information. Seems to be commonly missed with new clients.

  8. Please could we have the option to change the Corporation Tax Return approval date in the same way that the Accounts Approval date can be changed to reflect the actual date the client signed the accounts and tax return.

    Or better still, we could just have one are to change the approval date and it would update both the accounts and corporation tax return

    We have been embracing Xero Tax for all our company accounts and tax returns this year, to really identify what still needs to be addressed and provide that feedback before we abandon our existing software.

  9. Xero Log on - Alias email address for use with multi practice access.
    Currently working in two accountancy practices with access to Xero but can only have one access to Admin. This means restricted access to one practices clients and having to be added manually to each client.
    I have a generic email address from my Log in so the clients are not aware I work for multiple firms. This has to be explained to the client as it shows in their user list. Also when emailing clients directly from Xero, an alias email has to be created for that…

  10. Prefill contact name of partner or manager to the Tax return cover page.

    Purpose: To help with changeover of managers of clients and when there is staff turnover or promotions of staff.

    As currently goes it rolls over from the prior year return and a change in staff or manager require it to be changed manually. Having the contact name prefill from the client details page when the update of a new manager is allocated to the client. This can be set to be either the partner or manager through a check box stating which name to prefill.

  11. Currently when copying a job then the costs and milestones are automatically copied as well. It would be great to be given the option to copy these or not. Most of the time we do not want to copy these specifically the costs

  13. Would be nice for a client to have access to all queries from accountancy practice directly in Xero, instead of following links from emails. Quite often the client does not notice those emails or ignore it. It would be more convenient to log in to Xero, go to outstanding queries and complete those.

  14. Day time contact number in individual tax return.

    Individual tax return cover page has two options
    Mobile number and day time contact number
    day time contact number is by default picked up from practice management setting which is practitioner number.
    there is no a way to change this day time number to client contact number automatically.

  16. It would be good to have more flexible saluations in Ask covering emails, particularly when asking for information for personal tax.Being able to use the given name for someone, for example, (as per most emails that peope send) would be a good start.

  17. When posting the CT charge for the year, Xero Tax defaults to the 500 code in Xero. Not all our clients use this. Is there a way of reverting to the blank accounts codes so we can change this per client? Thanks

  18. We have the AS' downloaded from ATO automatically and this creates a new job for every AS. We then need to add an AS task to every job individually.

    Would be great to be able to add task/s to multiple jobs in one go - similar to how you can assign staff/manager to multiple jobs in one go.

    Often I send husband and wife docs to sign.

    If we put the wife to sign their return, the husband cannot see it in the pack.

    This might have been some privacy idea but think in terms of a real physical meeting, you have both pwople checking both, or if you post, both check both. It makes sense they both unde4stand each other.

    So ability to see everything in the pack would be good.

    Current workaround is I put the return in the pack a 2nd time with no spots to sign, so the other person can see…
