  1. Is there an easy way to create/run reports tailored specifically for charities or is it just me that I am finding it difficult to find ? I've got the charity set up as a non-for-profit organisation which doesn't seem to make much difference at all.
    It's disappointed to see Xero doesn't have any reports templates for charities.
    Executive report cannot be overtype as needed - It's not possible to change "Profit (Loss)" line within profitability to Surplus/Deficit.

    Regarding Current Year Earnings, it isn't currently possible to rename this to current year funds, or to code manual journals from this to…

  3. We use client codes for all our clients. There is an option to input this into the client record, but it would be good to be able to see that on the screen and sort by it, rather than just alphabetical list of clients.

  4. GST reminders
    Like the Tax reminders for provisional and student loan but for GST and maybe even PAYE, so if you create and file the GST return though Practice Manger it feeds back info on what is outstanding and what has been paid with the option of sending reminders out to clients on payments due about a week out from the final date.

  5. It would be wonderful if we could transfer interest, dividends, annual trust distribution information, and capital gains between a husband and wife (or partners etc) when the accounts are held 50/50 or 1/3 25% etc without having to re-enter the schedule into the other party's tax return.

    Link the partners together like it does with a rental schedule.

  6. We understand that a capital gain in relation to a property sold that is qualified for partial main residence exemption cannot be split in Xero Tax.

    The workaround is to adjust the Capital proceeds or the Cost base amount in the Total Costs table grid to achieve the correct taxable net capital gain that should be reported at 18 A.

    We suggest that a pro-rating (using number of days) be incorporated in your next software update to make it clear to the client as to how the assessable capital gain was calculated.

    Hi everyone, looping back here - our earlier update applies for those using Xero Tax in the UK. We appreciate there are users interested in this for Xero Tax based in Australia and we're going to open it back up and slightly amend the title for AU specifically. While it's not something we have direct plans for right now, we'd like to better understand the interest in this and can update if there is any progression on the idea, here.

  7. There must be an option to include the clients logo on any reports that we pull from Xero. Hereby making reports look much better.

  9. Practice Manager - Bulk update ITR due dates within tax return

    If we request the income tax client report through Xero, the due dates update in the client detail level, but not in the tax return if they have already been created.
    Being able to bulk update the due dates within the tax return, especially when deferrals are requested and successful with the ATO would be helpful as manually updating them all can be time consuming.

  11. Report that can generate invoices per JOB manager.
    Currently there is no report that can generate these data in the report builder.

    Report that contains the following data:

    • Invoice Date
    • Invoice No
    • Client
    • Job Number or Job Summary
    • Invoiced Amount (GST exclusive)
    • Job Manager (not the account manager)

    we tried to generate using the data above using the WIP ledger per staff but when we add all of them, it does not equal the report generated through Invoice Report.
    This will be useful when you would like to see how much each staff invoiced per month.

  12. For the prior year comparable option in Xero - The compare functionality is only on the main forms, but can you include on schedules?? The prior year comparables only seem to appear re the Form C Disclosures, not any accompanying schedules - would love this feature to be so the comparison can be printed out

  13. Would be cool to be able to edit the name of the PDF attachment sent with the Tax Payments emails from "PaymentLetter" to a name that is more specific to the client.

    Would be particularly helpful where a client has multiple entities to pay tax for.

    Possibly use XPM merge fields for the pdf file name? for example "{Client} Payment Letter due {PaymentDueDate}"

  15. Multi select or more filter options when processing superannuation payments. This would expediate processing super payments for large employers. For example, you should be able to filter the super payment to show only last month super and select all and submit for payment. At the moment, if we want to process the previous month's super, we have to manually unselect each employee super that relates to the next month or quarter that we aren't required to pay yet.

  16. Would it be possible to combine the features of Custom reports (in particular the ability to set them as default reports and favourite them for access from the Reports drop-down) with Adviser reports (the ability to format using report codes and practice-wide sharing across any number of client organisations)?

    Right now, a practice has to decide between:

    Customising reports on a per-client basis - an incredibly time-consuming task to set up

    or

    Drafting an Adviser report every time - which can't be set as a default report on the Reports home screen or favourited for easy access and therefore takes…

  17. When entering in the Franking Account in a tax return, you should be able to reorder the rows if you enter a date that is not in chronological order. Or alternatively, the system should be smart enough to re-order the rows based on date.

  18. Currently, a SWIFT code for each payee will need to be entered each time a batch payment is created, otherwise, batch won't be sent to Bank. It would be helpful if there is any way for Xero to record the swift code from the previous payment so that when we make a new payment for the same supplier, the bank information will be automatically shown in the respective fields.

  20. It would be great if we could report on more fields in XPM - in this instance, who does an invoice in XPM. There is a history section in the invoice, but there is no way to add this data to a report. E.g. I am using a 'job report' that includes the 'Date Last Invoiced', and it would be great if we could also show 'who created the invoice' (and/or approved and exported). We have tried adding a custom field on the job to allocate the staff member, but as this is manual, it would be a lot easier…
