  2. I would like to request that a report be designed where you can determine which purchase orders contain the "quantity on order" on a specific code. At the moment the only report you can pull is one where it shows which bills and invoices contain that code.

    We work with thousands of products, and we need to find a way to determine which purchase orders have certain codes. There should be an option to pull a report based on the item code, showing what is on order (including the PO number) as well as the bills and invoices.

    Hi community, since this idea was raised we have developed Xero reports - You'll now find a common format option to the left side panel within the Payable Invoice Detail report to view All purchase order details'

    The report includes the Item Code column by default, and you can also set Grouping/Summarising to Group by Item Code to group items together.

    Additionally you could Filter the report, for example by Status, to only view Current orders.

  3. Tax Payments – It would be good if we could have a BULK unapproved feature in all tabs, i.e. approved, sent, ignore.

    At the moment we have to click on each client and unapproved which is very time consuming.

    Hey community, thanks for sharing this idea - it’s now live in NZ Xero Tax 🎉

    You can now unapprove multiple payment reminders at once. To do this:

    1. Go to Tax > Payments
    2. Click on either the Approved, Changed or Sent tab
    3. Select the reminders to be unapproved
    4. Click the Unapprove button
    5. Click Yes to confirm

    I’ve reached out to our education team to share your feedback and resource, and get a better understanding of how we choose the language in our quarterly product updates.

    To provide context - we’ve used the term ‘Hispanic’ here as that’s the term used by our Los Xeros group, which is made up of Hispanic and Latinx employees and Xero ambassadors. Based on this we'll continue to use the phrase Hispanic in addition to Latinx, where appropriate.

  6. The queries in workpapers are currently organised into query headings covering a number of areas. But there are some queries that don't fit into any of those sections neatly and can confuse clients when sent over.

    It would be great if we could create our own headings for the Queries or if Xero could include a 'General' or 'Non-Categorised' section which these less specific queries can be grouped

    The Query Heading is a free text field so you can manually create a new heading for all the different types that are not currently available to select. 😊

  7. Document packs are currently sorted in order of sent. This can make it hard to track ones that are newly completed (for filing purposes). This is because a newly completed pack could be anywhere in the list. Being able to sort in order of completed would help.

    Hi Andy👋, happy to share that the team have just released another improvement to the sort for Document Packs and you'll find from today you can now sort by Date Completed!

    Jump on in for a try - this should help you stay on top of those packs most recently completed 😊

  8. You have a contact transaction summary report which is very confusing showing the allocation of overpayments or credit notes. Just need a report to show the actual transactions that you can then drill down on so that you can see where they have been allocated. Also needs a running total. Would be useful to show just outstanding items or to be able to show all items from a particular date.

    Hi team, it's possible to get a view of what you're asking here with the Account Transactions report today. 


    You can customise the Account Transactions report to add both contact and related account. You can also filter by these fields. 

    There is also an option to show a running balance. 


    Alternatively you could look into the Receivable Invoice Details report and filter this for a single contact, and choose which 'source's you'd like to include when running the report. 


    I guess what would help in passing your feedback to the team here is understanding more detail of what you'll use this specific report for? What is it you're trying to use this for? 

  9. Having the ability to query all of the data in the background. It's frustrating that you can't see certain fields (eg. invoice number) on the account transaction report so are forced to use the Receivable invoice detail or summary report instead and yet this report doesn't allow you to see all of the fields available in the Account transactions report. I appreciated that not every transaction will have an invoice/bill number so just so "-" or blank when it doesn't apply. Doing this will have a huge impact on the ability to actually use the data available in a client…

  10. It would be helpful to have a Director ID field for contacts within an entity in XPM. There are instances where we act for the entity and not the individual Director. We are therefore not able to store the Director ID in the same way for an individual client.

  11. Currently, in the UK you can export an iXBRL file from Xero Tax but if you try to import that file into other tax software it is not compatible and creates an error message in the other software.
    This is an issue at my firm as the Tax department insists on using Alphatax for all CT Returns and this has meant that we cannot use Xero Tax to prepare statutory year-end accounts as we have to prepare the iXBRL tagging file in other software that is compatible with Alphatax.

    Thanks for your input on this one, Louisa. Xero Tax now offers the option for our partners to continue utilising the automation and efficiencies of our accounts production tool for FRS 105 and FRS 102 1A and then export the iXRBL file into your existing Corporation Tax software, such as AlphaTax, to file the CT600. If that's the workflow for you, you'll notice some cool tweaks to the process such as the ability to manually adjust the tax provision in the accounts from the dashboard before filing them with Companies House. After creating a new filing you'll see the option on our 'Filing Options' screen where you can elect to prepare the CT600 in Xero or file it externally.

  12. When an email is sent to Hubdoc with attachments, have email attached to document(s) instead of it going into Failed.

    Purpose: To consolidate emails with invoices/bills/etc which often have extra information that is needed to pay the bill.

    In order to file a self assessment tax return for self employment income on a cash basis this needs to be selected from within the self-employment schedule.


    Below the accounting period start & end dates there is a Yes/No toggle to switch over to 'Yes' if cash basis is being used in the accounting period 🙂

    We’ve made some updates to the ITR forms, and you’ll now see a section labelled ‘Your Banking Information’ with the customer’s BSB and Account Number.

    Because of this change, we’ll be shifting this idea to delivered 😄

We’re happy to confirm that you’re able to create a document from the body of the email by selecting the checkbox of “create documents from both the attachment(s) and the body of the email” in your Hubdoc org - see our article here for more information.

  18. I was told on a recent Xero training course that I could use "Ask" to send queries to clients - even those not on Xero. However, having just spent a considerable amount of time setting up a lot of new templates for requesting self assessment evidence from clients I have now found out that you can't use it for individuals who are not on Xero. Perhaps this could be something which could be looked at in the future? I have a number of individual clients who need self assessments but don't require Xero and it would certainly be a bonus…

    Hi Leah 👋 great to hear you've been through some of the training!

    You can send Xero HQ Ask queries to non-Xero clients, however you'll just need to add them as a client in Xero HQ so they can receive the notification.


    On your clients end, they can create a Xero login to access and respond to your queries through Ask, without needing to add an organisation.

  19. Ability to memorise the configuration of previous multiple line invoices.

    Purpose: To save time from having to enter the details of a similar invoice before the user publishes the document to Xero.

    Thanks for your support here, everyone. With Hubdoc we've just introduced a way for you to save configurations for documents with multiple lines, to help you create transactions in Xero faster and save you time from entering data.

    Now, when you publish documents with multiple line items into Xero you'll see a button to copy item details you entered last time - 'Add last items'.

  20. Ability to have a tax estimate included in a trust tax return where there is tax payable/refundable.

    Purpose: To easily estimate and calculate Estate Tax Returns for all deceased clients.

    Understand that previously, determining the estimated tax payable by the trustee of a deceased estate involved a bit of manual calculation work. I’m happy to confirm that this can now be calculated from within Xero Tax.
