Homepage - View Draft Invoices
Add Draft Invoices widget. It used to be available on the home screen before and now it's additional clicks away. Please bring it back.
5 votesHi Karolina, while slightly moved Draft invoices are still shown within the Invoices owed to you widget they have just been shifted beneath the graph. 🙂

Add a "new Invoice" button to the homepage
Add a "new Invoice" button to the homepage to save clicking through a couple of pages. This in a submenu on the previous homepage but not on the current one
4 votesHi James, there is a 'New invoice' button from the Invoices owed to you widget on the Homepage. It's just move placement from where it used to be. 😊
Alternatively, there are a couple of other handy shortcuts
- Use the '+' icon in the top blue navigation, or
- Type '/' to open the global search and type 'i' where you'll see an option for new invoice

Privacy of profitability
I don't want people with standard access to be able to see the Profit and Loss of the company.
5 votesHi Ryan, we completely understand—profitability is highly sensitive, and you want to make sure only the right people have access. Protecting your financial privacy while still letting your team do their work is a top priority.
This level of control is already built into Xero’s User Roles. A Standard User has access to run reports by default, but this permission can be removed from their user role if needed.
The Net profit or loss widget on the dashboard is linked to the Reports permission. If the Reports box is unchecked, the Profit and Loss widget will be hidden from their homepage, and they won’t be able to access the P&L report itself.

Expenses on the homepage
A widget displaying employee expenses and amounts due
4 votesHi Linda, thanks for sharing your thoughts here! You can actually display this information using the existing 'Expenses to Review' widget. Just click Edit homepage and select Add widget to find it. This tool helps you track staff expenses that need approval or payment, ensuring your team is reimbursed quickly. I have attached a screenshot for your reference here. If you require further help , please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team, we'd be happy to assist! :)

Homepage | Bills - View draft
Please add 'Bills in draft' in the Tasks widget, not just 'Bills awaiting approval'.
2 votesHi Josie, this is actually available within the Bills to Pay widget it's just been placed beneath the graph.
If it's something you'd find more handy at the top of the widget you may like to also add your vote to this idea.

Homepage - Drag and drop modules, this would save time
I want to be able to move and design the order I see things on the page. You use to be able to drag and drop modules easily. Now I don't know how to.
3 votesThanks for sharing this here Emma!
Appreciate that the drag and drop feature is quite useful. This is still possible with the new homepage, however you will need to click on 'Edit Homepage' and then drag and drop or remove the widgets as needed. If you have any further questions, we recommend raising a case with our support team so they can assist you further! 😀

New Homepage: Net Profit or Loss Widget, needs to have a "This financial Year" option
New Homepage - Profit and Loss Widget - needs to have a "This financial year" option as we want to see current, not history. Current is the important one when keeping on track with finances, not what happened last year.
2 votesHi Steph, you should have a few date selections you can choose from by clicking on the 3 dot menu in the top right of the widget. This includes Year to date which will run off the organisations current financial year.

Homepage | View overdue invoices
Invoices owed to you as a widget showing the old format - drafts, awaiting payment and overdue without having to click through to find it.
2 votesHi Abi, within the new Homepage there is also an Invoices owed to you widget - perhaps you just need to Edit the homepage to add this to yours? You'll be able to see the amounts you've noted from this widget and click through to view the associated invoices in a list.

Homepage | Upload Bill button on the homepage
Place an Upload Bill button on the home page. One of my most common daily tasks is to upload new bills. Currently to do this I have to go to Purchases | Bills | New Bills | Upload bills. I could forward emails to have them upload to drafts automatically or use the Opt-Shift-U shortcut, but having a quick Upload Bill button accessible from the homepage would save a lot of time.
2 votesHi Andrew, this is possible from the Bills to pay widget. If you click the Add bill button you'll get the option to upload or create manually. 🙂

Homepage - Profit and Loss - switch between viewing by cash or accrual
Profit and Loss widget needs to be able to switch between cash and accrual as per the app.
I also believe a GST payable could be another small widget so that business can see daily/weekly/monthly/qtr how much they should put aside for gst liability. As i constantly put this account onto the watched accounts dashboard for all clients and I know others do also.
2 votesHi Sheri, thanks for the feedback! The good news is that you can already choose whether the Net Profit and Loss widget on your dashboard shows on a Cash or Accrual basis.
Here’s how:
- On your Dashboard, find the Total Profit and Loss widget.
- Click the three dots in the top right corner of the widget.
- Select Edit.
- Click Change next to the "Accounting basis" section and pick your preference.
Since this customization is already built in, we’ve moved this idea to Existing Functionality and will be closing it for votes. This way, the widget can be tailored to show the data exactly how you need it every time you log in!

Hide bank accounts on the dashboard
Reduce clutter by allowing bank accounts to be hidden from the dashboard, e.g. if they exist but are not currently in use.
1 voteHi Mike, you can actually change the widgets that are displayed on your homepage using the Edit Homepage button. From here you can select or deselect which widgets you'd like to be shown. 🙂

record keeping for sent invocies
A record of all sent invoices, to whom and the time and date they have been sent.
And how many late payment reminders have been sent to the contacts
list? How many invoices have been sent to this contact? This will be really great for record-keeping.
2 votesHi! Did you know it's already possible to do this in Xero?
To view a full detailed log of your invoice, you can click into the invoice, and from the bottom of the screen, click on "History and notes" which will provide you a breakdown of when the invoice was approved, sent to the customer and to which email, and if reminders have been sent for late payments for the invoice.
To ask questions about using Xero in community you can post or join Discussions on Xero Central. Thanks

I'd like everything from the homepage to be able to
I'd like everything I can select from the homepage to be able to open in a new tab when I hold the ctrl button.
2 votesHi there,
Thanks for the suggestion!
I’ve classified this as Existing Functionality because Xero does support "Ctrl + Click" (or Command + Click on Mac) for most links across the platform. If you click on text-based links (like a specific account name or invoice), it should open in a new tab as expected.
However, I hear you that some parts of the homepage, specifically the interactive charts and certain action buttons—don't currently support this. This is because those elements are built as "actions" rather than simple links.
Tip: If a specific widget isn't opening in a new tab with Ctrl+Click, you can usually right-click it and select "Open link in new tab."
If there are specific items that you feel really need this support, let us know!

Homepage: Widget with Awaiting Payments sorted by due date, overdue in red
One important task is to chase awaiting payments. I don't see any us in the "Recent invoice payments" widget. Overdue invoices are much more important.
2 votesHi Mike, there is also an Invoices owed to you widget, which shows a total for invoices Awaiting payment, and those overdue. From here you can click into the amounts to go straight to a list of the invoices.

Report - Transactions by Product
we are desperetly like a feature to search customer invoices based on product. so as an example, i input "business cards" then it lists all invoices with this item for us to choose?
2 votesHi team, we understand why being able to quickly see transactions by product is so useful.
Right now, the Inventory Item Details report can give you that breakdown. You can filter by a specific item to see every related transaction—Invoices, Bills, etc. If you want to focus only on sales, set Source = Receivable Invoice to show just the invoices for that item. This gives you a clear view of who bought it, when, and in what quantity.
For broader sales insights, the Sales by Item report is also handy. You can drill into each item to see the invoices behind the totals. We hope this will help you with managing your Inventory :)

New Homepage - Invoice Information quick view
add widget that shows invoiced amounts and invoice payments per month as bar or line graph as this could differ from cash flow
1 voteThanks for the idea about a homepage widget showing invoiced amounts vs payments per month as a bar/line graph. Xero doesn’t currently have a single widget that shows “total invoiced” and “total paid” per month side-by-side, which is why you’re not seeing exactly this on the homepage.
You can, however, see similar information in a few places that can be added or surfaced as widgets:
- Invoices owed to you (homepage widget) – shows amounts owing over time (Awaiting payment vs Overdue), so you can see what’s still to be collected.
- Short-term cash flow / Cash in & out (homepage & Analytics) – bar/line graphs of cash in and cash out over time, which you can add as widgets to understand actual cash movement.
- Reports (e.g. Invoices / Aged receivables / income reports) – give more detailed invoiced vs paid by period views; you can favourite these for quick access.

Homepage | Invoices owed to you - View drafts
On the "Invoices owed to you" widget, I'd like to see a "Draft Invoice" total, please.
I often have multiple projects, with invoices waiting in drafts, until the projects are confirmed. A Draft Total would help me see what's potentially coming down the pipe.
Cheers
1 voteHi Peter, the total of Drafts is there it's just placed underneath the graph 😊
- Don't see your idea?
