Homepage - View Draft Invoices
Add Draft Invoices widget. It used to be available on the home screen before and now it's additional clicks away. Please bring it back.
5 votesHi Karolina, while slightly moved Draft invoices are still shown within the Invoices owed to you widget they have just been shifted beneath the graph. 🙂

Add a "new Invoice" button to the homepage
Add a "new Invoice" button to the homepage to save clicking through a couple of pages. This in a submenu on the previous homepage but not on the current one
4 votesHi James, there is a 'New invoice' button from the Invoices owed to you widget on the Homepage. It's just move placement from where it used to be. 😊
Alternatively, there are a couple of other handy shortcuts
- Use the '+' icon in the top blue navigation, or
- Type '/' to open the global search and type 'i' where you'll see an option for new invoice

Privacy of profitability
I don't want people with standard access to be able to see the Profit and Loss of the company.
5 votesHi Ryan, we completely understand—profitability is highly sensitive, and you want to make sure only the right people have access. Protecting your financial privacy while still letting your team do their work is a top priority.
This level of control is already built into Xero’s User Roles. A Standard User has access to run reports by default, but this permission can be removed from their user role if needed.
The Net profit or loss widget on the dashboard is linked to the Reports permission. If the Reports box is unchecked, the Profit and Loss widget will be hidden from their homepage, and they won’t be able to access the P&L report itself.

Expenses on the homepage
A widget displaying employee expenses and amounts due
4 votesHi Linda, thanks for sharing your thoughts here! You can actually display this information using the existing 'Expenses to Review' widget. Just click Edit homepage and select Add widget to find it. This tool helps you track staff expenses that need approval or payment, ensuring your team is reimbursed quickly. I have attached a screenshot for your reference here. If you require further help , please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team, we'd be happy to assist! :)

Homepage - Drag and drop modules, this would save time
I want to be able to move and design the order I see things on the page. You use to be able to drag and drop modules easily. Now I don't know how to.
3 votesThanks for sharing this here Emma!
Appreciate that the drag and drop feature is quite useful. This is still possible with the new homepage, however you will need to click on 'Edit Homepage' and then drag and drop or remove the widgets as needed. If you have any further questions, we recommend raising a case with our support team so they can assist you further! 😀

Homepage | View overdue invoices
Invoices owed to you as a widget showing the old format - drafts, awaiting payment and overdue without having to click through to find it.
2 votesHi Abi, within the new Homepage there is also an Invoices owed to you widget - perhaps you just need to Edit the homepage to add this to yours? You'll be able to see the amounts you've noted from this widget and click through to view the associated invoices in a list.

Homepage | Upload Bill button on the homepage
Place an Upload Bill button on the home page. One of my most common daily tasks is to upload new bills. Currently to do this I have to go to Purchases | Bills | New Bills | Upload bills. I could forward emails to have them upload to drafts automatically or use the Opt-Shift-U shortcut, but having a quick Upload Bill button accessible from the homepage would save a lot of time.
2 votesHi Andrew, this is possible from the Bills to pay widget. If you click the Add bill button you'll get the option to upload or create manually. 🙂

record keeping for sent invocies
A record of all sent invoices, to whom and the time and date they have been sent.
And how many late payment reminders have been sent to the contacts
list? How many invoices have been sent to this contact? This will be really great for record-keeping.
2 votesHi! Did you know it's already possible to do this in Xero?
To view a full detailed log of your invoice, you can click into the invoice, and from the bottom of the screen, click on "History and notes" which will provide you a breakdown of when the invoice was approved, sent to the customer and to which email, and if reminders have been sent for late payments for the invoice.
To ask questions about using Xero in community you can post or join Discussions on Xero Central. Thanks

I'd like everything from the homepage to be able to
I'd like everything I can select from the homepage to be able to open in a new tab when I hold the ctrl button.
2 votesHi there,
Thanks for the suggestion!
I’ve classified this as Existing Functionality because Xero does support "Ctrl + Click" (or Command + Click on Mac) for most links across the platform. If you click on text-based links (like a specific account name or invoice), it should open in a new tab as expected.
However, I hear you that some parts of the homepage, specifically the interactive charts and certain action buttons—don't currently support this. This is because those elements are built as "actions" rather than simple links.
Tip: If a specific widget isn't opening in a new tab with Ctrl+Click, you can usually right-click it and select "Open link in new tab."
If there are specific items that you feel really need this support, let us know!

Homepage: Widget with Awaiting Payments sorted by due date, overdue in red
One important task is to chase awaiting payments. I don't see any us in the "Recent invoice payments" widget. Overdue invoices are much more important.
2 votesHi Mike, there is also an Invoices owed to you widget, which shows a total for invoices Awaiting payment, and those overdue. From here you can click into the amounts to go straight to a list of the invoices.

Report - Transactions by Product
we are desperetly like a feature to search customer invoices based on product. so as an example, i input "business cards" then it lists all invoices with this item for us to choose?
2 votesHi team, we understand why being able to quickly see transactions by product is so useful.
Right now, the Inventory Item Details report can give you that breakdown. You can filter by a specific item to see every related transaction—Invoices, Bills, etc. If you want to focus only on sales, set Source = Receivable Invoice to show just the invoices for that item. This gives you a clear view of who bought it, when, and in what quantity.
For broader sales insights, the Sales by Item report is also handy. You can drill into each item to see the invoices behind the totals. We hope this will help you with managing your Inventory :)

Payroll
Provide an option to hide the Payroll menu item for people who don't use the Payroll feature
2 votesThanks for taking the time to share your idea about hiding the Payroll menu for people who don’t use payroll.
This is something you can already do in Xero by updating user permissions. If you remove the Payroll admin permission from a user’s access, the Payroll menu will no longer appear for them.
This means you can keep payroll visible only for the people who actually process payroll, while everyone else can continue to use the rest of Xero as usual.
If you need an extra hand you can raise a case with our Xero Support specialists. 😊

Under the invoices owed to you,
Under the heading "Invoices owed to you" it was nice to actually have the extra line at the base showing "Awaiting Payment" so one click and your there rather than opening all invoices and then selecting awaiting payment. I used it a lot in the old version.
1 voteHeya Robert, thanks for feeding back on your experience. You should find the total of Awaiting Payment an option to click through to the list of invoices at the top of the Invoices owed to you widget. I've attached a screenshot for reference 🙂

on home page all of your accounts should show on not just those requiring reconciling how do you get to your accounts from the home page ifi
The home page all of your accounts should be showing, not just those accounts requiring reconciling
1 voteHi Lydia, you can Edit Homepage to add more widgets. It sounds like you may want to do this to add the widgets for bank accounts that may already be fully reconciled. It's possible to show widgets for bank accounts that don't need reconciling.

Navigation - Search from the homepage
Have a search bar function on home page
1 voteHi Samantha, Search is currently available from the new Homepage. Is it possible you're viewing Xero on a reduced screen size? If so you may just want to click the 3 dot overflow menu where you should see this option.

Homepage - Outstanding reconciliations
In the old format, bank accounts used to show how many reconciliations needed doing. Can this prompt please be re-added! It was really useful
1 voteHi Christie, thanks for sharing your thoughts on seeing outstanding reconciliations right away. It’s definitely useful to know exactly what needs your attention as soon as you log in!
At the moment, the Bank Accounts widget will show “Reconcile X items” if there are any statement lines waiting in that account. Alternatively, the Tasks widget gives a summary of reconciliation items across all your bank accounts. If you want, you can also use “Edit dashboard” at the bottom of the page to move these widgets to the top or hide accounts you don’t check as often.
Because this functionality already exists, I’ve marked this idea as Existing Functionality. For tips on getting your dashboard set up just the way you like it, the Customise your Xero homepage article on Xero Central is a great resource.

Hi Kim, you can actually still do this within the new Homepage. From the Invoices owed to you widget there is a 'New invoice' button. It's position has just moved a little from where it was in the dashboard. 😊

Save a lot of Time when switching between menus.
Add the Bank Feeds as a Seperate Item in the top menu, where currently Home, Sales & Purchases is. This would shorten the movement between modules. Currently I have to click Home, then select the bank to reach the Bank Feeds
1 voteHi Valerie, thanks for sharing your feedback! We get that being able to jump straight to your bank accounts from the dashboard would save a few clicks when you’re in the flow of daily bookkeeping.
Right now, your bank accounts are accessible via Accounting > Bank Accounts. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut ?/ then type “ba” to go directly to your bank accounts—it’s a quick way to get there without leaving the keyboard.
Because this access is already available, I’ve marked this as Existing Functionality.

Less motions/clicks means more efficiency
I'd love quick access buttons on the home page, things that get done on a regular basis. For example adding a check or a bill or a quote or an invoice.
1 voteHi Jessie, thanks for posting in the forums. If you already have the new homepage there are quick options on the widgets - for example from the Bills to pay widget there is the option to 'Add bill' or View all bills which will take you to the bills list view, and similarly the same with Invoices in the 'Invoices owed to you widget.
Also from the '+' icon in the blue navigation you can quickly create new for many transaction types, or we even have keyboard shortcuts to help navigate.

Homepage | Bank widget - Reconcile button
Could we have the reconcile button back on the homepage its one we use all the time and is now a few clicks away, rest seems fine
1 voteHi Shaun, if there are statement lines unreconciled in your bank account you should still see a button on the bank widget to 'Reconcile x items'.
If you're not seeing this option where you'd expect please do raise a case with our Xero Support team who can take a deeper look into things with you.
