Fix Contact Merchant Button Overlapping Custom Invoices on iPhones
Xero has confirmed that this is a known display issue affecting advanced invoice templates (DOCX) when viewed on iPhones.
The “Contact merchant” button overlaps the invoice content on smaller screens, making invoices look unprofessional and potentially obscuring important payment information.
The same invoice displays correctly on iPads and other devices, which confirms that this is a mobile compatibility issue rather than an issue with the invoice itself.
For businesses that rely on custom branding templates, switching to a standard template is not a practical solution. Asking customers to rotate their phones or adjust their viewing settings is also not an acceptable long-term workaround.
Suggested Improvement:
Xero should ensure that advanced DOCX invoice templates display correctly across all devices, particularly iPhones, without payment buttons or other interface elements overlapping invoice content.
The online invoice interface should automatically adjust to different screen sizes while preserving the original invoice layout.
This is especially important because many customers open invoices directly from their phones. Businesses should be able to provide a professional, consistent invoicing experience regardless of the device their customers use.
Please prioritise fixing this known issue rather than requiring businesses to compromise their branding or customers to find workarounds.
