  1. The Xero API will let you send an invoice by email - https://developer.xero.com/documentation/api/accounting/invoices/#emailing-an-invoice

There is no equivalent functionality for Quotes, each needs to be send manually. This endpoint should be added in as well.

  2. Multiple sections in a single quote with their own separate totals.

Purpose: when quoting on similar products with different pricing to present to a client, with their own separate totals. Currently, we have to send a separate quote to the same client which means they're receiving multiple emails from us.

Thanks for adding your support and feeding back on your needs in this idea, everyone.

While we understand how multiple sections with separate subtotals could make it easier to present options clearly and avoid sending several quotes to the same customer, we want to be upfront that this is not something we have development plans for in the near term.

Right now, a couple of options to add structure would be to use description-only lines as section headings within a quote. Alternatively, attaching separate documentation that accompanies your quote and depicts the breakdown.

We understand this isn't the ideal solution you're after here but may help some present quote details more clearly.

Another option is to explore our ecosystem apps to see if there's a service that can accommodate your full quoting needs.

  3. Ability to remove value from online quote. This will allow templated quotes to be used where a total value isn't used and individual pricing is set per task. Dependant on the job there are specific rates per brick etc. Which is calculated at the end of a job bet the rate is set at the start therefore we need people to accept our quote (rates) but the total (quantity) wouldn't be determined until job completion.

Hi community, while we appreciate your idea here we want to be open that we don't have plans for implementing this change any time in the near term.

If you'd like to enter a quote with rates and no quantity an option could be to specify the detail of the calculation for jobs in the 'Summary' field.

You could set up a separate branding theme to be used specifically for your quotes to alter which fields are shown, and when entering the amounts you'd use the Price field to signal the rate and leave the Qty. field as '0'. This means you'll still have a price set per line of your quote but the total amount of the Quote would be '0' and determined at the completion of the job when you copy the quote to an invoice and enter the Qty.

  4. Ability to make quote’s title and summary flow through to Sales Invoices.

Purpose: To save users’ time rather than having them manually input the same title and summary when the quotes are converted into invoices.

Hi community, we want to provide an update and let you know we are reviewing these ideas and have a close eye on the support this idea continues to receive.

We understand that for some businesses, a quote’s title and summary are important details that should carry through to an invoice, and appreciate that automating this would improve consistency and reduce manual re-entry.

Right now, Title and Summary aren’t available fields on Xero invoices - Supporting this would first require those fields to be added to invoices, before they could flow through automatically from quotes. From there, the change also needs to be considered across a number of surfaces, such as web, mobile, imports, exports, emails, and more.

To be transparent, this work isn’t currently on our roadmap.

For now, we recommend manually copying these fields from a quote into the description field on a new line within the invoice.

  5. Ability to consolidate or merge multiple quotes into another quote.

Purpose: To make clients easily sign through of a single quote, as this usually happens in large projects.

Hi team, we appreciate support for being able to combine or merge multiple existing quotes.

To update here, this isn't something we have any plans around at this time, and not getting a lot of traction overtime we will soon remove this from the forums.

The best option right now would be to open the largest quote and add lines from the others to this and then delete the others. Thanks
