Invoicing | Payments - Remember reference
In the new "Record Payment" section on a sales invoice, it has lost the ability to remember the reference entered previously so i now have to retype the reference every time. Would be handy if we could have this back.
Also i have to enter multiple payments for each sales invoice at the same time to go to different banks/accounts - it would be good if i could do this in one screen instead of having to reload the same invoice each time to add a payment.
22 votesThanks for your feedback on the recent update of the payment section on an invoice. I've made sure to share this back with our product team and we will keep you updated if there is any further updates planned around the reference behaviour you've described, here.
Also appreciate that users that are making multiple payments would like to stay within the invoice and we have a separate idea for this here that we'll share any updates through.

Invoice Payments | Stripe - Set credit card payment limit
A feature that allows us to set a maximum dollar threshold for online credit card gateways (like Stripe) would be extremely helpful.
For example, if an invoice total exceeds our chosen amount of $10,000, Xero can automatically disable or hide the "Pay Now" Stripe option on the online invoice, forcing the customer to only use EFT/Bank Transfer.
Currently, we have to create separate manual branding themes for high-value invoices to prevent massive credit card merchant fees. Following the RBA's decision to abolish passing surcharge fees to clients, our business would find it extremely helpful to cap credit payments. Thanks!
4 votesThanks for sharing this feedback. Being able to set a payment threshold for Stripe on Xero invoices could help prevent high-value invoices from being paid by card unintentionally, reducing the risk of unexpected processing fees.
In the meantime, you can create a dedicated branding theme without Stripe or other online payment services and select it for invoices that exceed your preferred limit.
We’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering community feedback. If this would improve your workflow, add your vote and share your use case.

Stripe surcharge fee adjustment - Different fees For international and Domestic customers
It would be good if Xero allows for stripe surcharge fee adjustment for both domestic and international customers, not just domestic customers.

Statements - Ability to include Credit note when making payment
New Statements with a pay now option are excellent. I feel it would be helpful for the customer to be able to select a credit note to pay to avoid overpayments.
Ie: customer has $400 in credit from December and a January invoice for $200 - on the January statement the customer is still allowed to select to pay the $200 invoice and not take up the credit note.
21 votesGreat to hear you like the pay now option on statements, Marney. Can see how it would be useful to be able to include and apply Credit Notes when making payment. We'll start to get a sense of the interest in this from others on your idea and I'll share if there are any updates for you on this.

Tap to Pay iOS - Allow to chose the amount paid
Allow customer to choose payment amount especially in iPhone app tap
And pay feature. My clients pay a deposit but sometimes pay in instalments. There’s no option to choose a specific amount … it’s all or nothing.4 votesThanks for sharing this idea — I can see why this would make a difference for businesses taking deposits or stage payments 🙂
I’m going to move this idea to Gaining Support so we can get a better sense of how many people want this too. If it would help your workflow, please add your vote and share a comment about how you’d use it — that kind of detail really helps the product team understand the need.
We’ll keep an eye on the feedback here and share any updates when we have them.

Invoice Payments - Collect invoice Payments via Zelle
Allow invoices to be paid VIA Zelle. Some business bank accounts hook directly to zelle, they don't have any fees like stripe, etc. I prefer to get paid VIA Zelle so I can keep more of the money I earned.
11 votesHi everyone, while we don't have a direct integration with Zelle as a payment service, you could look to setting this up as a custom URL. We have some information on this here.
One important thing to note is that when an invoice is paid via a custom URL, you need to manually apply a payment to the invoice, or reconcile the statement line when it shows in your bank account.
While we are continuing to track the interest around a integration with Zelle as a payment service here, we want to be open that we don't have any plans for this at this time.

Stripe - Allow merchants to restrict card types and international cards for Stripe payments
Australian businesses using Stripe payments through Xero need greater control over which cards they accept.
Currently Xero allows us to enable or disable “Card” payments, including at individual invoice level, but does not allow merchants to restrict card payments by card network or country of issue.
We would like the ability to:
- Accept Australian-issued Visa and Mastercard
- Disable American Express
- Disable international-issued Visa and Mastercard
- Disable other higher-cost card networks where required
- Apply these controls as organisation defaults, while retaining invoice-level Card on/off controls
This has become particularly important following the removal of card surcharging…3 votesThanks for sharing your idea, Aaron 😊 We can see how having more control over the card types and issuing countries accepted through Stripe could help businesses manage their payment costs.
Your idea is open for votes and comments. If this would benefit your business too, please add your vote and share how you’d use these controls in the comments below. We’ll keep a pulse on the interest this idea receives and share if there are any updates.

Contacts | Invoicing - Display GoCardless direct debit mandate link on the contact details page
In the Xero Contact details page, it would be really useful if the GoCardless invite link was shown, at the moment we have to log into GoCardless separately and find the link to invite new customers. it would save time logging into separate sites.
3 votesHi Paul, thanks for sharing this idea. We can understand how having the GoCardless mandate link available directly from the contact record could make setting up and following up on direct debit arrangements easier.
I've updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest.
It would also be helpful to hear how you'd like this to work. Sharing your preferred workflow will help give the team a clearer picture of what would be most useful.

Statements - ability to set default to Activity or Outstanding
Please have option to set statement type to ACTIVITY , and not OUSTANDING ( when mailing a statement to a client ) It was like that a month ago
17 votesHi Leoni, thanks so much for sharing this idea with us. We appreciate you taking the time to walk us through what you’re looking to achieve and adding those screenshots.
We’ve moved your idea into Gaining Support, which means it’s now open for the wider community to vote and share their experiences. This helps us get a sense of how many people would benefit from this improvement.
We’ll keep an eye on the feedback as it comes in, and if the idea gathers momentum, we'll provide you with further update.

Statements - Make the online customer statements link static
the new customer statement link should be static i.e. never changes for each customer.
the link should be visible to us from the contact page in xero.
the link should also be a placeholder item that can be selected in email templates and also in invoice templates - via clickable link or even as a QR code, both in the docx invoice template and the new style templates.
it doesnt make sense that the statement link is now only 'exposed' if you decide to send a statement by email. the statement link is such a powerful new feature. don't hide…7 votesHi Louis, thanks for sharing this idea. Having a reusable online statement link for each customer could make it easier to use the same statement across different workflows instead of generating a unique link each time.
We hear that a consistent link could support things like templates, QR codes, contact records, or external portals where businesses want customers to access their statements more easily.
We'll continue tracking the votes and use cases here to gauge the community's interest.

Online Payments - Ability to connect a single Stripe account to multiple Xero organizations
We currently have 3 different Xero accounts for different regional entities, but all payments need to flow through one Stripe account.
At the moment you have to have an individual Stripe account for each Xero entity/account. It doesn't say this anywhere and when I tried to connect the account to a second Xero entity it began creating new Stripe accounts that I then had to delete.
Being able to connect ONE Stripe account to all Xero accounts would be a huge help.
5 votesHi Jess, we understand you’re looking for the ability to connect one Stripe account to multiple Xero organisations, so managing payments across different entities is simpler.
Having a multi-organisation connection option could help keep all payment information in a single Stripe dashboard.
We’ll continue to keep track of this idea and gather feedback from the community.

Invoicing | Receipts - Option to hide contact name on standard payment receipt templates
Sending invoices from WFM and receipting the payments in Xero - the standard receipt template in Xero needs an option to show just the billing address name without the contact name appearing as well. At the moment the standard receipt template in Xero can’t be changed, it would be good to be able to have an option to hide the contact name while keeping the billing address name visible, especially when the billing name is different from the contact name. The only way to change what appears on receipts is by using a custom DOCX template but this won’t work…
3 votesThanks for raising this idea, Trina. Being able to hide the individual contact name on standard receipts could help in situation when it differs from the business being billed.
I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. What other information on a receipt would you like to customise on standard template?

Batch Payments - Remittance | Ability to print before downloading PDF
We process a large number of weekly payments in Xero,
and one of the biggest challenges we face is the time it takes to create and print batch payments.Currently, after selecting invoices from the Awaiting Payment tab and creating a new batch, we move to the Transaction: Batch Payment screen. At this point, the only option available is to generate a Batch PDF and then print it manually.
Because we handle anywhere from 25 to 55 batches each week, this “PDF first, then print” workflow is very time-consuming.
What I’d really like to know is whether there’s a way…
9 votesHi Leslie, thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. At the moment the only way to print the batch is after downloading it. However, we suggest going to the Paid tab and selecting the invoices checkbox and clicking on the Print option, this will combine all the invoices/bills. While this is a workaround, we are opening this idea up to the community to gain more support. If you need further assistance with this, please reach out to our support team for a 1:1 with them.

DOCX - Allow Apple and Google Pay links
Current Limitation - Apple pay or Google pay options are available on the standard invoice template and it cannot be incorporated to advance invoice template. In the advance invoice template only credit/debit card options are available.
Suggestion - Incorporate all the payment options to the advance invoice template.
2 votesThank you for sharing your idea to make Apple Pay and Google Pay available when using an advanced invoice template. We understand how helpful it would be to offer customers convenient digital wallet payment options while retaining the flexibility of a customised invoice design. ⭐
We’ve reviewed your idea and moved it to the ‘Gaining Support’ status so other community members can vote and comment. Their feedback will help us understand how broadly this would improve the payment experience for businesses using advanced invoice templates.
If this would be useful for your business, please add your vote and share any additional details about how you’d like it to work.

Hubdoc - allocate account to bill during upload
Hubdoc App. needs the ability to allocate chart of accounts to the bill when uploading rather than always having to do this on the web platform
6 votesThanks for your feedback here, Adrian. We can see how being able to assign chart of accounts codes in the Hubdoc app could make capturing bills and receipts on the go more efficient, especially for those working primarily from mobile.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share the feedback with our product teams as they review improvements to the experience.

Subscriptions - Name of organisation for each direct debit on the bank statement line
When direct debit Xero subscription invoices, would be good if Organisation's name for each direct debit occurs, as having scenario of multiple organisations subscribed with direct debit from same account.
Understand we can open the invoice and allocate accordingly, however saves time if the bank transaction line indicates the Organisation name.1 voteThanks for sharing this idea, and for sharing that by showing the organisation name on each direct debit could make it easier to identify subscription payments when you manage multiple organisations from one bank account.
We'll open the idea up for votes and comments so others in the community can share their thoughts. Feel free to share it with colleagues who'd also like to see this, so we can get a sense of the interest from the community✨

Invoice Payment - Support ACH payments via Stripe for Canadian organizations
Please allow collecting ACH payments through Stripe for your Canadian customers, just as it's enabled for U.S. customers. I used to use GoCardless, but suddenly they suspended my account without explanation, claiming it's "under review," which is affecting all my recurring monthly charges. @Xero_team, please treat this as urgent and enable Stripe's ACH payment option for Canada.
Thanks
1 voteThanks for sharing this feedback. The main request is for Canadian organizations to be able to collect ACH payments through Stripe in Xero, similar to the bank debit options available in other regions.
This could give businesses more flexibility when setting up recurring customer payments and choosing their preferred payment provider.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would improve your workflow, add your vote and let us know what you’d like the Stripe payment experience to support.

Invoice send | Review and Pay - Colour match with org brand
Review and Pay - option to change the colour as it appears on the email to client to match the clients branding
2 votesHi Charisse, thanks for sharing this idea. We can see how being able to customise the colour of the Review and Pay button could help businesses create a more consistent branded experience for their customers.
At the moment, the button uses a standard design and its colour can't be customised. You can, however, personalise other parts of your invoice emails, including the email template content and branding theme.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If brand customisation is important for your business, we'd love to hear more about how you'd like to tailor the payment experience.

Invoice - Allow customers to set up a Direct Debit mandate while completing a GoCardless Instant Bank Payment
I would like to take our first payment via Go Cardless Instant Bank Payment and send them a mandate to fill in for future recurring monthly payments.
We have our first invoice for customers purchasing a subscription from our website set to instant bank pay, so that they can pay immediately and be given site access immediately, but they will then make future payments by Direct Debit.
Via GoCardless directly, If you invite a new customer to collect an instant bank payment, you need to check the box for the option Set up mandate (Prompt this customer to set up…2 votesHi Stephen, thanks for raising this idea. We understand why having the option to set up a Direct Debit mandate at the same time as an Instant Bank Payment via GoCardless could help create a smoother customer payment experience.
The idea is to combine these steps into a single checkout flow, allowing customers to make their first payment while also authorising future Direct Debit payments without needing to complete a separate setup process.
We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you’d find this payment workflow improvement useful.

Stripe- Bulk Payment for Foreign Currency Invoices
Currently, the bulk payment option through online statements works effectively for invoices in the base currency. However, when dealing with foreign currency invoices, customers are required to pay each invoice individually. This creates additional friction and inefficiency in the payment process, particularly for businesses managing multi-currency transactions.
We would like to propose the development of a bulk payment feature that supports foreign currency invoices as well. This enhancement would streamline the payment process for international customers, reduce administrative overhead, and improve overall customer experience.
Thank you for considering this request. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and any potential…
1 voteThanks so much for sharing this idea. We can see how helpful it would be to let customers pay foreign currency invoices in bulk from statements, rather than needing to open and pay each invoice individually. For businesses working across multiple currencies, this would make the payment experience much smoother and save time.
We’ve reviewed your idea and are moving it to Gaining Support so we can continue to track interest and hear more from others who’d benefit from this.
If this would help your workflow, please add your vote and share any extra detail about how you use it — that context is really valuable for the team 💙
