Invoice Payments | Stripe - Set credit card payment limit
A feature that allows us to set a maximum dollar threshold for online credit card gateways (like Stripe) would be extremely helpful.
For example, if an invoice total exceeds our chosen amount of $10,000, Xero can automatically disable or hide the "Pay Now" Stripe option on the online invoice, forcing the customer to only use EFT/Bank Transfer.
Currently, we have to create separate manual branding themes for high-value invoices to prevent massive credit card merchant fees. Following the RBA's decision to abolish passing surcharge fees to clients, our business would find it extremely helpful to cap credit payments. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this feedback. Being able to set a payment threshold for Stripe on Xero invoices could help prevent high-value invoices from being paid by card unintentionally, reducing the risk of unexpected processing fees.
In the meantime, you can create a dedicated branding theme without Stripe or other online payment services and select it for invoices that exceed your preferred limit.
We’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering community feedback. If this would improve your workflow, add your vote and share your use case.

We also have a limit in credit card ($5000.) But I just realised that even if the invoice is not offering card payment, the statement is and there is no way to turn this off that I can see. So the only way around it is to send a statement pdf manually. Not very practical.
