  1. In the new "Record Payment" section on a sales invoice, it has lost the ability to remember the reference entered previously so i now have to retype the reference every time. Would be handy if we could have this back.

Also i have to enter multiple payments for each sales invoice at the same time to go to different banks/accounts - it would be good if i could do this in one screen instead of having to reload the same invoice each time to add a payment.

Thanks for your feedback on the recent update of the payment section on an invoice. I've made sure to share this back with our product team and we will keep you updated if there is any further updates planned around the reference behaviour you've described, here.

Also appreciate that users that are making multiple payments would like to stay within the invoice and we have a separate idea for this here that we'll share any updates through.

  2. New Statements with a pay now option are excellent. I feel it would be helpful for the customer to be able to select a credit note to pay to avoid overpayments.

Ie: customer has $400 in credit from December and a January invoice for $200 - on the January statement the customer is still allowed to select to pay the $200 invoice and not take up the credit note.

Great to hear you like the pay now option on statements, Marney. Can see how it would be useful to be able to include and apply Credit Notes when making payment. We'll start to get a sense of the interest in this from others on your idea and I'll share if there are any updates for you on this.

  3. It would be good if Xero allows for stripe surcharge fee adjustment for both domestic and international customers, not just domestic customers.

  4. Allow invoices to be paid VIA Zelle. Some business bank accounts hook directly to zelle, they don't have any fees like stripe, etc. I prefer to get paid VIA Zelle so I can keep more of the money I earned.

Hi everyone, while we don't have a direct integration with Zelle as a payment service, you could look to setting this up as a custom URL. We have some information on this here.

One important thing to note is that when an invoice is paid via a custom URL, you need to manually apply a payment to the invoice, or reconcile the statement line when it shows in your bank account.

While we are continuing to track the interest around a integration with Zelle as a payment service here, we want to be open that we don't have any plans for this at this time.

Hi Leoni, thanks so much for sharing this idea with us. We appreciate you taking the time to walk us through what you’re looking to achieve and adding those screenshots.

We’ve moved your idea into Gaining Support, which means it’s now open for the wider community to vote and share their experiences. This helps us get a sense of how many people would benefit from this improvement.

We’ll keep an eye on the feedback as it comes in, and if the idea gathers momentum, we'll provide you with further update.

Thanks again for being part of the conversation.

  6. In the Xero Contact details page, it would be really useful if the GoCardless invite link was shown, at the moment we have to log into GoCardless separately and find the link to invite new customers. it would save time logging into separate sites.

Hi Paul, thanks for sharing this idea. We can understand how having the GoCardless mandate link available directly from the contact record could make setting up and following up on direct debit arrangements easier.

I've updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest.

It would also be helpful to hear how you'd like this to work. Sharing your preferred workflow will help give the team a clearer picture of what would be most useful.

  7. We process a large number of weekly payments in Xero,
and one of the biggest challenges we face is the time it takes to create and print batch payments.

Currently, after selecting invoices from the Awaiting Payment tab and creating a new batch, we move to the Transaction: Batch Payment screen. At this point, the only option available is to generate a Batch PDF and then print it manually.

Because we handle anywhere from 25 to 55 batches each week, this “PDF first, then print” workflow is very time-consuming.

What I’d really like to know is whether there’s a way…

Hi Leslie, thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. At the moment the only way to print the batch is after downloading it. However, we suggest going to the Paid tab and selecting the invoices checkbox and clicking on the Print option, this will combine all the invoices/bills. While this is a workaround, we are opening this idea up to the community to gain more support. If you need further assistance with this, please reach out to our support team for a 1:1 with them.

Thanks for sharing this idea — I can see why this would make a difference for businesses taking deposits or stage payments 🙂

I’m going to move this idea to Gaining Support so we can get a better sense of how many people want this too. If it would help your workflow, please add your vote and share a comment about how you’d use it — that kind of detail really helps the product team understand the need.

We’ll keep an eye on the feedback here and share any updates when we have them.

  9. the new customer statement link should be static i.e. never changes for each customer.
the link should be visible to us from the contact page in xero.
the link should also be a placeholder item that can be selected in email templates and also in invoice templates - via clickable link or even as a QR code, both in the docx invoice template and the new style templates.
it doesnt make sense that the statement link is now only 'exposed' if you decide to send a statement by email. the statement link is such a powerful new feature. don't hide…

Hi Louis, thanks for sharing this idea. Having a reusable online statement link for each customer could make it easier to use the same statement across different workflows instead of generating a unique link each time.

We hear that a consistent link could support things like templates, QR codes, contact records, or external portals where businesses want customers to access their statements more easily.

We'll continue tracking the votes and use cases here to gauge the community's interest.

  10. Sending invoices from WFM and receipting the payments in Xero - the standard receipt template in Xero needs an option to show just the billing address name without the contact name appearing as well. At the moment the standard receipt template in Xero can’t be changed, it would be good to be able to have an option to hide the contact name while keeping the billing address name visible, especially when the billing name is different from the contact name. The only way to change what appears on receipts is by using a custom DOCX template but this won’t work…

Thanks for raising this idea, Trina. Being able to hide the individual contact name on standard receipts could help in situation when it differs from the business being billed.

I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. What other information on a receipt would you like to customise on standard template?

Thanks for your feedback here, Adrian. We can see how being able to assign chart of accounts codes in the Hubdoc app could make capturing bills and receipts on the go more efficient, especially for those working primarily from mobile.

We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share the feedback with our product teams as they review improvements to the experience.

  12. We currently have 3 different Xero accounts for different regional entities, but all payments need to flow through one Stripe account.

At the moment you have to have an individual Stripe account for each Xero entity/account. It doesn't say this anywhere and when I tried to connect the account to a second Xero entity it began creating new Stripe accounts that I then had to delete.

Being able to connect ONE Stripe account to all Xero accounts would be a huge help.

Hi Jess, we understand you’re looking for the ability to connect one Stripe account to multiple Xero organisations, so managing payments across different entities is simpler.

Having a multi-organisation connection option could help keep all payment information in a single Stripe dashboard.

We’ll continue to keep track of this idea and gather feedback from the community.

  13. I would like to take our first payment via Go Cardless Instant Bank Payment and send them a mandate to fill in for future recurring monthly payments.
We have our first invoice for customers purchasing a subscription from our website set to instant bank pay, so that they can pay immediately and be given site access immediately, but they will then make future payments by Direct Debit.
Via GoCardless directly, If you invite a new customer to collect an instant bank payment, you need to check the box for the option Set up mandate (Prompt this customer to set up…

Hi Stephen, thanks for raising this idea. We understand why having the option to set up a Direct Debit mandate at the same time as an Instant Bank Payment via GoCardless could help create a smoother customer payment experience.

The idea is to combine these steps into a single checkout flow, allowing customers to make their first payment while also authorising future Direct Debit payments without needing to complete a separate setup process.

We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you’d find this payment workflow improvement useful.

  14. Currently, the bulk payment option through online statements works effectively for invoices in the base currency. However, when dealing with foreign currency invoices, customers are required to pay each invoice individually. This creates additional friction and inefficiency in the payment process, particularly for businesses managing multi-currency transactions.

We would like to propose the development of a bulk payment feature that supports foreign currency invoices as well. This enhancement would streamline the payment process for international customers, reduce administrative overhead, and improve overall customer experience.

Thank you for considering this request. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and any potential…

Thanks so much for sharing this idea. We can see how helpful it would be to let customers pay foreign currency invoices in bulk from statements, rather than needing to open and pay each invoice individually. For businesses working across multiple currencies, this would make the payment experience much smoother and save time.

We’ve reviewed your idea and are moving it to Gaining Support so we can continue to track interest and hear more from others who’d benefit from this.

If this would help your workflow, please add your vote and share any extra detail about how you use it — that context is really valuable for the team 💙

Hi Charisse, thanks for sharing this idea. We can see how being able to customise the colour of the Review and Pay button could help businesses create a more consistent branded experience for their customers.

At the moment, the button uses a standard design and its colour can't be customised. You can, however, personalise other parts of your invoice emails, including the email template content and branding theme.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If brand customisation is important for your business, we'd love to hear more about how you'd like to tailor the payment experience.

  16. You have just rolled out the pay now button on online statements, however this is only for Stripe users.

Can you allow other payment processors such as Square to this please (like we can for invoices already)

  17. Have recently had a client complain that the card processing description says 'credit card processing fee' however the client paid with debit card and therefore doesn't think they should have been charged processing fee. This terminology needs to be updated to 'card processing fee' for more transparency.

  19. It is common for subscriptions to automatically attempt rebill 3 times, most customers expect this if there is a temporary card issue, it can be communicated with them in the failed payment notification. They shouldn't have to manually setup up the subscription again, especially if using the same card.

Also if a customer is going going ahead with a subscription service, it makes sense that autopay is the default setting on the invoice. There needs to be the ability to disable it if they want to pay by bank transfer for example, but the default should be that their card…

Hi Justin, thanks for your idea here. We noticed you have two ideas in the one post. We've actually found another idea that is similar to the defaulting you mentioned, so I've added your vote to this here.

I've adjusted the idea for the re-billing of Failed payments and we will track support from other users on this here.

  20. Stripe allows you to turn on/off additional services like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link by Stripe. However, these controls are DISABLED when integrating with Xero, which creates a problem. We moved invoicing to Xero specifically because it allows you to dynamically add a surcharge for credit card payments -- but, by automatically adding Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link, you're allowing payers to bypass the surcharges! You should re-enable those controls through Stripe, allowing users to CHOOSE whether or not they want to use those payment services.

Hi there, thank you for sharing this idea.

I can see how the inability to toggle specific digital wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay creates an issue when you are trying to manage surcharges effectively.

Since there isn't currently a way to disable these specifically within the Xero-Stripe settings while keeping standard credit card payments active, I’ve moved this to 'Gaining Support' to see how many other users are impacted by this.
