Be great within Payroll, to have a file where we could put individual employment contracts
Would be great if within the Payroll, we could upload staffs individual employment contracts. Would keep everything in one place.

Adjust VAT when recording Spend Money direct from the Files page
I like the new feature where you can record Spend Money transactions direct from the Files page, but the whole feature becomes useless if you can't adjust the VAT amount to match that on the voucher/receipt. Switching to 'VAT Exclusive' doesn't give you the ability to amend the VAT value, so if it's out by a penny you have to cancel the operation and record it in the old Spend Money way. Seems a bit silly really.
So, allow users to adjust the VAT amount when recording Spend Money transactions direct from the Files screen.

RENAME FILE IN FOLDER
Allow the name of uploaded file to be change more simple. this would save time when uploading multiple files

Is there a way to remove the Review feature in files
There is a new feature in files called Review, is there a way to remove it as it is something our company will never use and it gets in the way.

Allocating bills from suppliers with multiple line items (eg. Bunnings and Bowens) to a Master Job
In MYOB, when a bill is sent from a supplier (eg. Bunnings) to the inbox, when converting this from a draft to an "actual" bill, there is an ability to "code" the entire invoice to one particular job (eg. Job X).
Then you can go into the individual lines and re-allocate them to Job Y (if need be).
This initial "master job allocation" allocation saves times as then each line is allocated against Job X, rather than manually having to enter this information in on each line before approving the draft.1 voteThanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Ideas. files
The new files is incredibly fiddly! Previously I had my uploaded files in years and if I hadn't filed them into years yet they remained in the inbox until I dealt with them. Now everything is archived I have no idea what isn't in a folder and what is just sitting in archived. And when I view a document just sitting in archived i have no way of knowing if it is in a folder or what folder it is in.
Am I doing something wrong??

subfolders in
Subfolders - It would be great if there was the ability to create subfolders in Files. For example to enable filing by financial year/month etc. As it is combing through an incredible amount of documents to find something is very time consuming.

Ability to send xero file receipts directly to new xero forwarding area
The new forwarding area for bills is great, but is only good for those receipts you haven't already got a repeating bill for. I wish though you could send xero file receipts straight to this new area as often the team send in their receipts and it would be easier from there to determine if these can be created automatically or need to be attached to an existing bill.
Would also love the function of saving in Xero files and saying attach to "x" bill in Xero Awaiting bills!

If an archived file is in a folder, show folder name in the "All archived" section
Have a column headed "Filed in" and then the name of the folder if that archived file has been moved into a folder. This would make it easier to know it has been filed.

Files Folders - Drag and drop files to change order
Within Files folder, to sort by drag and drop please? These are remittance advice for Gift Aid payments from HMRC and therefore not attached to any invoices BUT can get uploaded in the wrong order which is confusing for the auditor. Currently the only option is to download the whole contents, sort and reload.
Also could it be made possible please to have subfolders so that we can easily divide eg monthly investment reports by financial year without having a long list of separate folders in the main index?5 votes -
Files - Create bill credit notes from files folder
You should be able to create a Bill Credit note directly from the FILES folder of your profile. This way when you go in to check the Credit note, you can create it straight away, rather than have to go out, in to Bills, and then have to create it from there.
OR when you send an 'invoice'/attachment through to your draft bills, you should be able to change it to be a bill credit note rather than a bill5 votes -
Xero Files - Flag duplicates in files
I currently use Xero Files to store documents. Most of the documents are PDF's but some are Excel spreadsheets. Unfortunately, Xero Files doesn't recognise duplicate documents so, when uploading to Xero, it's necessary to compare the Xero file with my personal file in order to determine which documents need to be uploaded. It would be good if Xero Files recognised duplicates so all documents could be selected for upload with Xero simply flagging the duplicates with an option to either "skip" or to "skip all".

Xero Accounting app - Check if uploaded fully before save is enabled
Xero app - Adding a Receipt - check if image/s are fully uploaded before the Save button is enabled/allowed or run a check when the Save button is selected and if image/s are not fully uploaded alert user to wait.
Xero app - Adding a Receipt - auto compress images larger than x size.

Xero Files - Scroll bar in Files app
When a folder is created in Files app, it appears on the left menu and the documents uploaded in the folder appears on the right side of the screen. When there is a long list of folders created, like I am doing with the client, the list goes below the screen and scrolling down option is only the main scroll of Xero that moves the list of folders and the document display screen together. Xero Files - Attach files to Bank or Nominal Accounts
It would be a really useful to be able to attach files to a bank account within Xero, much as you can to a contact or transaction.
The use cases for this could be:
When a disorganised client send bank statements in as attachments for irregular payments it would be very handy to be able to store those attached to the account in Xero; as close to where I would want to use them as possible.There are supporting documents that relate to an account as a whole - such as an accruals or prepayment schedule that would be great…

We often use the quick search feature in Xero, and it is often used just to get the client code for files. It would be incredibly helpful if the client code populated next to the client name in the quick search bar to make it easier to see

It would be great if we could search in the files that are attached in the file library. Sometimes you need to find something that was attached a long time ago or by someone else and if you could enter a keyword search it would save trawling through them page by page.

Just like the "Drop or click to upload files" area below this text box, I'd like an area within each transaction that I can use to upload an invoice or receipt. Rather than clicking the add document button and searching through the file hierarchy.

Xero Files: Simple email address for email to files
There should be a way we can change the email address that the files inbox accepts to make it more tailored to clients?
For example for a client, their inbox files email could be: xero.inbox.owerthsgm56785.49n6356@xerofiles.com which is crazy!
It would be so much better if it could be something like xero.inbox.clientname@xerofiles.com

Files - Allow file to be attached to multiple transactions
The inability to attach credit notes from a batch is becoming increasingly problematic. To clarify: multiple credit notes sent from suppliers under 1 PDF - there isn't the capability to transfer these into a separate folder and then attach each PDF multiple times when creating a credit note from a supplier. As soon as it is attached once it disappears! I have had multiple occasions where there are numerous credits in one PDF and am having to write all but one down in longhand so I can then create the Credits.
