Keep files in library
Have an option to keep a file in the library such as Term & Conditions to add to Quotes or have a default Terms section instead of an empty box.

Invoice Address. When exporting invoices to. csv file it would be beneficial to have customer address in the file also

Reduce file size of image captures
Noticed the new files are saved as large sized images e.g. 4mb. The previous files reduced the file size to around 100 to 200kb. Handy to have the reduced file size as if downloaded can save to PDF and easily upload to other apps e.g. Job apps. Large files are sometimes not accepted to these apps. cheers

Files - Quickly add new contacts directly from Files uploads
Currently if a file is uploaded for a Contact that doesn't exist in Xero, we have to open a new tab to manually add the Contact. Could a button or hyperlink be added to the transaction screen in the File section that will open a new page or pop up to add the Contact? This will reduce clicks and increase efficiency. Bonus if we can "quick add" where just the Contact name is added by clicking a button in File. Another bonus if the Contact add screen autopopulates as much info from the File that it can (vendor or customer…

Files to be accessible by invoice only users
At present the file library can only be accessed by Standard or Advisor user profiles.
When you have purchase ledger roles using the Invoice Only user profile, they should be able to see the file library in order to user Smart Document Capture.
This seems like an oversight and would make life easier for employees in clerk roles.

New creating transaction from file
I like the new way we can generate a transaction from within Files.
However, for those of us who use Items, this option is not available. Is this on the radar to be included?

Smart Document Capture - add credit note to drop down for document type
We often receive individual tax adjustment notes/credit notes from suppliers and I forward these to my inbox. If there was the option to select the document type as credit note from the Smart Document Capture pane, it would save me having to navigate to bills, new credit note and manually attaching the file to the transaction. This feature would streamline the processing of files within my inbox.

Smart Document Capture
Smart Document Capture in Files - disable option!
I like the idea of the Smart Document Capture and being able to add a lot more information, but when I scan a document to files I JUST need to be able to rename it. You had recently changed the formal so you could have the file open AND rename it at the same time, which was fantastic, now you've added an extra feature and removed the ability to rename the file while it's open. Files - Create bill credit notes from files folder
You should be able to create a Bill Credit note directly from the FILES folder of your profile. This way when you go in to check the Credit note, you can create it straight away, rather than have to go out, in to Bills, and then have to create it from there.
OR when you send an 'invoice'/attachment through to your draft bills, you should be able to change it to be a bill credit note rather than a bill11 votes -
Files Folders - Drag and drop files to change order
Within Files folder, to sort by drag and drop please? These are remittance advice for Gift Aid payments from HMRC and therefore not attached to any invoices BUT can get uploaded in the wrong order which is confusing for the auditor. Currently the only option is to download the whole contents, sort and reload.
Also could it be made possible please to have subfolders so that we can easily divide eg monthly investment reports by financial year without having a long list of separate folders in the main index?5 votes -
Xero Files - Flag duplicates in files
I currently use Xero Files to store documents. Most of the documents are PDF's but some are Excel spreadsheets. Unfortunately, Xero Files doesn't recognise duplicate documents so, when uploading to Xero, it's necessary to compare the Xero file with my personal file in order to determine which documents need to be uploaded. It would be good if Xero Files recognised duplicates so all documents could be selected for upload with Xero simply flagging the duplicates with an option to either "skip" or to "skip all".

Xero Accounting app - Check if uploaded fully before save is enabled
Xero app - Adding a Receipt - check if image/s are fully uploaded before the Save button is enabled/allowed or run a check when the Save button is selected and if image/s are not fully uploaded alert user to wait.

Xero Files - Scroll bar in Files app
When a folder is created in Files app, it appears on the left menu and the documents uploaded in the folder appears on the right side of the screen. When there is a long list of folders created, like I am doing with the client, the list goes below the screen and scrolling down option is only the main scroll of Xero that moves the list of folders and the document display screen together. It would be great if we could search in the files that are attached in the file library. Sometimes you need to find something that was attached a long time ago or by someone else and if you could enter a keyword search it would save trawling through them page by page.

Xero Files - Attach files to Bank or Nominal Accounts
It would be a really useful to be able to attach files to a bank account within Xero, much as you can to a contact or transaction.
The use cases for this could be:

Files - Allow file to be attached to multiple transactions
The inability to attach credit notes from a batch is becoming increasingly problematic. To clarify: multiple credit notes sent from suppliers under 1 PDF - there isn't the capability to transfer these into a separate folder and then attach each PDF multiple times when creating a credit note from a supplier. As soon as it is attached once it disappears! I have had multiple occasions where there are numerous credits in one PDF and am having to write all but one down in longhand so I can then create the Credits. Just like the "Drop or click to upload files" area below this text box, I'd like an area within each transaction that I can use to upload an invoice or receipt. Rather than clicking the add document button and searching through the file hierarchy.
