  1. Please support multiple currencies in the Smart Document Capture feature. This feature looks very promising but I have a lot of bills in USD and there is no way to use this at present without going to the bank account, grabbing the amount paid in GBP and then manually correcting the amount paid.

  2. The new Smart Capture feature in Xero Files is a great step forward, but one key limitation is currently preventing us from fully moving away from Hubdoc.

    At the moment, when Smart Capture creates a bill, it can only be published as a draft. There doesn’t appear to be any option to choose the bill status during the creation process.

    In Hubdoc, we can choose the status before publishing, for example:
    • Draft
    • Awaiting Approval
    • Awaiting Payment

    This is extremely useful for workflow management and automation.

  3. To be able to create an approved bill directly from the file inbox, rather than only being able to create a draft bill which then needs to be approved. These extra steps increase the time taken to create and approve bills and increases the risk of draft bills being missed.

  4. The new xero files screen is awful and it takes me double the time to do anything.

    I enter the invoice red in file screen and it doesn’t pull through to the draft so I need to do it again, I have to catergorise every line on a small bill whereas previously it would have been block entered if it was for the same nominal, no option to copy from purchase order so that now has to be manually marked as billed, having to go through the additional step of approving a draft takes longer and no option to code…

  5. As the Archive in Files expands, we need the option to scroll through pages easily by using the scroll button. This should be located at the top of the page.

  6. Could Xero please consider increasing the number of supporting files that can be attached to a loan account? Currently a maximum of 50 supporting documents can be attached. However, we are now exceeding the 50 document limit, with initial loan setup docs, monthly statements, plus bank letters regarding interest rate changes. It is important to have a full set of supporting documents attached to the loan account, so they are available for the accountant to review if required.

  9. I would like files to be able to be renamed once they have been added to the files area. As most generic files only have numbers or letters it would make it easier to be able to rename them easily.

  10. You should be able to create a Bill Credit note directly from the FILES folder of your profile. This way when you go in to check the Credit note, you can create it straight away, rather than have to go out, in to Bills, and then have to create it from there.
    OR when you send an 'invoice'/attachment through to your draft bills, you should be able to change it to be a bill credit note rather than a bill

  11. Within Files folder, to sort by drag and drop please? These are remittance advice for Gift Aid payments from HMRC and therefore not attached to any invoices BUT can get uploaded in the wrong order which is confusing for the auditor. Currently the only option is to download the whole contents, sort and reload.
    Also could it be made possible please to have subfolders so that we can easily divide eg monthly investment reports by financial year without having a long list of separate folders in the main index?

  12. I currently use Xero Files to store documents. Most of the documents are PDF's but some are Excel spreadsheets. Unfortunately, Xero Files doesn't recognise duplicate documents so, when uploading to Xero, it's necessary to compare the Xero file with my personal file in order to determine which documents need to be uploaded. It would be good if Xero Files recognised duplicates so all documents could be selected for upload with Xero simply flagging the duplicates with an option to either "skip" or to "skip all".

  13. Xero app - Adding a Receipt - check if image/s are fully uploaded before the Save button is enabled/allowed or run a check when the Save button is selected and if image/s are not fully uploaded alert user to wait.

    The Xero app is incredibly slow when uploading images eg; receipt scans. These are not expenses, the expense app works differently and is much faster but I can't use it for business receipts as they are not 'claims'. It has become slower each time I've upgraded…

  14. When a folder is created in Files app, it appears on the left menu and the documents uploaded in the folder appears on the right side of the screen. When there is a long list of folders created, like I am doing with the client, the list goes below the screen and scrolling down option is only the main scroll of Xero that moves the list of folders and the document display screen together. So, checking a document from the folder at the end of the list requires to scroll down at the end, find the folder and select it…

  15. It would be a really useful to be able to attach files to a bank account within Xero, much as you can to a contact or transaction.

    The use cases for this could be:
    When a disorganised client send bank statements in as attachments for irregular payments it would be very handy to be able to store those attached to the account in Xero; as close to where I would want to use them as possible.

    There are supporting documents that relate to an account as a whole - such as an accruals or prepayment schedule that would be great…

  16. It would be great if we could search in the files that are attached in the file library. Sometimes you need to find something that was attached a long time ago or by someone else and if you could enter a keyword search it would save trawling through them page by page.

  17. We often use the quick search feature in Xero, and it is often used just to get the client code for files. It would be incredibly helpful if the client code populated next to the client name in the quick search bar to make it easier to see

  18. The inability to attach credit notes from a batch is becoming increasingly problematic. To clarify: multiple credit notes sent from suppliers under 1 PDF - there isn't the capability to transfer these into a separate folder and then attach each PDF multiple times when creating a credit note from a supplier. As soon as it is attached once it disappears! I have had multiple occasions where there are numerous credits in one PDF and am having to write all but one down in longhand so I can then create the Credits.
