Hey everyone, thanks for engaging with this idea about being able to attach PDF bank or credit card statements directly to reconciliation reports in Xero. We know this can help simplify the cross-check process.

Right now there is the ability to upload statements into the Files inbox where you could create a dedicated folder for these type of files. However we understand the limitation in that this doesn't link them to report as you'd like here.

Our product team are looking into possible ways to attach files within the banking space and how we might fit it into the reconciliation workflow. It’s early days, and we’ll share an update when there's more news.

    When you publish your bank reconciliation report in Xero it would be handy to be able to attach a copy of the actual bank statement for completeness and proof by third party - much the same as being able to attach a copy of an invoice to a bill in Xero

    Yes adding a bank statement to reconciliation reports or to the Reconcile Period tab in banking would be very helpful

    I would like to see the checks as images within the transaction line items, or at least the bank statement PDF with the check images

    Yes this would be ideal in keepiing everything together. or if we could at least link the recopnciliation to the uploaded files.

    Once a bank reconciliation report has been run and we are happy that the bank reconciles correctly, it would be good to be able to mark the reconciliation as complete to show a history that the check was done then attach the physical bank statement that agrees to the bank balance. This aids review when a senior is overseeing a junior's work.

    It would be SO useful to be able to add a pdf of the bank statement to the published report!

    At the moment, when I am preparing a year end for the accounts staff, I have to send a pdf copy of the statement and I am certain it could easily be added on the reconciliation report screen to negate this.

    On organizations you have using bank feeds, a pdf of the bank statement should pop up in Xero once the bank publishes them. QBO has this feature so easy to look at a bank statement while reconciling the account and will also show pictures of the cleared checks.

    I would like to be able to import bank statements as a PDF like some other accounting systems can, rather than CSV OFX etc . This would make life so much easier than needing to request again from the client in a certain format and teaching them how to download.

    I totally agree, we need the ability to attach a copy of the bank statement to the bank account. The files section is a great feature but the statement really needs attaching to the bank account or reconciliation report please. As this was suggested in 2022 and it is now 2024 can someone look at it please.

    If we could upload Bank Statements to Bank Reconciliation, both Accountants & Bookkeepers have access to the balance of each statement; especially 30 June for Australia.

    Have the ability to see a bank statements and credit card statement while in Xero like QBO has it set up. Now I have to log into each bank acct to print out the bank statements whereas if it were aleady in pdf form in the orginaztion I would just have to print it out. This feature is so nice to have in QBO, would be great too in Xero.

    It will be usefull for global user that Xero can convert pdf files to upload bank statement. There are a lot of banks that use only pdf format file.
