Bank reconciliation AutoSuggest: Look for already existing contacts before suggesting the creation of new ones
I have already suggested this here: https://productideas.xero.com/forums/967136-banking-chart-of-accounts/suggestions/51721467-bank-reconciliation-autosuggest-look-for-already
Today I have a fresh, dumb suggestion from AutoSuggest: "Canberra Pools" as a new contact when "Ampol - MV Fuel" already exists for a payee containing "Ampol Canberra".
Bank rules (as suggested for the previous post before it was closed to comment) will not help. Gen-AI is going to keep finding new, stupid things to suggest when there is already an existing contact, and I'm NOT going to create a new bank rule every time for something that shouldn't ever be happening. The Gen-AI is getting worse, not better, because it's training on bad data from everywhere, not the good data that I put into my client files.
Thanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Ideas. We appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve Xero for you.

I should also note that for the way I deal with superannuation, bank rules are 100% useless anyway, since I do those as prepayment against the monthly bill, because the super is easier to allocate in a monthly batch against the Projects that various people are working on. And bank rules can't do prepayments.

And another example, albeit not in Bank Reconciliation but in Documents!
AutoSuggest suggests a new business name when one already exists in the Contacts that tracks the registered business names that the business also holds, which may show up in the bank transactions.

Here's another recent one - "On Lake Cafe" when the client has a contact "My Cafe Manuka" when the payee contains "My Cafe"
